My name used to be relatively unique, but recently many Narutards and Bleachfags have taken up usage of it, which I find very, VERY disconcerting. Which is why I have begun using my first name as my handle in some circles. I'm still the #1 result on google, however I used to be the first 2 pages of results and now there's a number of Naruto and Bleach related pages in there. As for how I came up with the name, there's a progression of sorts: 1.) Fly. My friends in elementary school used to call me this because it rhymes with my first name. (In fact a few of my oldest friends still call me 'F' for short). 2.) FlyDeath. I came up with this super awesome name for myself at the age of 9 or 10 when playing Doom on BBSes. 3.) Hornet. Logical progression from FlyDeath when I started playing at large LANs in Albuquerque. 4.) Suzumebachi. Japanese translation of Hornet. I decided to use it when I realized Hornet was far too common.

It runs on HDNet a few times a week as well. Definitely one of the best shows of the decade. I was sad to see it cancelled.

I started with Cakewalk Pro Audio way back in the day, but I never really knew how to use it outside of recording god awful guitar tracks. When I first came to OCR, Injury told me about FL so I picked that up and that's what I learned on. I later tried Reason for a while (my first OC ReMix was done in Reason), but ultimately went back to FL. I've since learned to use Cubase for multitrack recording, however I still use FL for sequencing. I guess the reason I've stuck with FL is because it's what I'm most comfortable with, and unlike Reason, it has actually improved significantly over the last 5 years.

Mechwarrior 2 and Interstate 76 are the only reasons to have win95/98 anymore. Neither work with 2k or later. It has to do with Microsoft's complete lack of backwards compatability for games based on older DirectX versions (MW2 and I76 were DirectX 3 iirc). Unless there's a "WindowsBox" or something out there that emulates old DirectX.

A friend of mine had a 'stay at home' job putting stamps and return addresses on envelopes for various businesses and mailing them. I don't remember who he worked for but it was some temp job company. He did it for about 2 years. He didn't make a whole lot of money (I think like $300 a week) but it was better than nothing.

SPC (and for that matter PSX and NES) soundfonts are a joke. If you wanna do it, do it rite, and l2trax.

Alright so I finally broke down and got a new keyboard. After much consideration, I decided to go with the Yamaha MO8. I got a 'blemished' one from zzounds for $1300-- about $1400 total after a stand + shipping. I dunno why they call it blemished though, unless they were referring to the box it came in. The box was kinda messy, but the keyboard is like brand damn new. Not a scratch or smudge or anything. I'm pretty pleased with it, but I haven't even begun to scratch the surface of this thing. The manual is like a freaking textbook (237 pages ). Since I just got it, I haven't had much time to play with it. Perhaps I'll write a full review or something later. One thing's for sure though-- holy crap this thing has a ridiculous amount of voices. I'll be using it a LOT in my music I imagine.

Ahh those aren't vinyl ticks, that crackling is from having Guitar Rig set on low CPU. It takes too damn long to render otherwise, especially for just a basic sketch. They'll be gone in the final renders though. I don't have a large selection of good snare samples, but I'll see what I can do with tweaking the EQ and reverb and stuff. Honestly I have no idea what the lyrics are gonna be yet, but I have a pretty clear picture in my mind of what they will sound like, if that makes any sense. Thanks for the feedback.
