there's a few main remixing sites, or hubs i guess you could say, and there's also a shit ton of smaller sites (especially if you know moonspeak). the main sites: OverClocked ReMix - http://www.ocremix.org/ - Obviously VGMix - http://www.vgmix.com/ - Currently down. There's a thread on the forums there with links to a bunch of the older songs, so you can dig around if you want. ReMix:ThaSauce - http://remix.thasauce.net/ - Hosted by Ramaniscence and myself. Not updated as often as OCR, but there's some good stuff here. Remix.Kwed.org (RKO) - http://remix.kwed.org/ - A very large site dedicated solely to remixes from Commodore 64 games. OverLooked ReMiX - http://olremix.org/ - Joke remixes. Some are funny. Some are awful. Some will make you want to punch baby jesus out of existence. other stuff: Dwelling of Duels (DoD) - http://dod.vgmix.com/ - A monthly live instrument (generally guitar) remixing competition. There's some great stuff here. Srsly. OneUp Studios - http://www.oneupstudios.com/ - OneUp Studios is home of The OneUps, and a few commercial arrangement albums. They don't make commercial albums anymore, however they do release free EPs every once in a while. I'd talk to Mustin first before playing any of their stuff on the radio though. That's all I've got for now. I'd start you off on the doujin scene, but I'd better let dhsu or someone who knows what the hell they're talking about do that. Also, keep in mind there's tons upon tons of commercial arrangement albums out there as well if your radio station has no problem with that.

first, what kind of sound card are you using? sorry I was under the assumption that you had an ASIO card. if not, then you're probably SOL when it comes to using VSTs in real time. if you do have an ASIO card, in the ASIO drop down menu, make sure you have the correct driver selected.
-
to get it to play a sound you have to load a VSTi first. to get it to play back your guitar, you have to load a VST effect (your guitar amp sim) and then select the input first. i'd give you more details but alas i am at school and can't remember how to do it off the top of my head. if you haven't figured it out by the time i get home i'll write another post.

EnergyXT is pretty good (and actually pretty damn powerful if you learn to use it). But you'd probably be better off using a straight up VST host (less overhead, less unnecessary UI). A good free one is Tobybear's MiniHost.

How to sing Death Metal without ruining voice

link? omg 10 chars -
As part of their promotion for their new fangled GVI (giga virtual instrument), Tascam has released a free piano VSTi as a demo of the technology. You can grab it here (in the GIGA Continuous Velocity Piano section). I haven't had a chance to check it out for myself yet (it's a pretty big download on 56k), so lemme know how it goes.

Everyone I've talked to says the Roland RD series pianos are freaking awesome. I don't know anything about their console/cabinet type pianos though.

you're shit outta luck. i also have a viewsonic 20" widescreen LCD, and there ain't shit you can do. it's a problem with a LOT of older games. hardly any of them are going to support your native resolution (1440 x 900). hell, there's a ton of newer games that don't support that resolution either. HL2 and World of Warcraft being the only two i can think of that do at the moment. with the exception of HL2, most FPS games don't support widescreen resolutions anyways because it might give you an unfair advantage or some other bullshit reason. you'll get used to starcraft being all stretched out though. it's not that bad. not like starcraft was ever pretty to begin with.

It's the 21st century, why haven't these games been realized?

PlanetSide much? Also, permanent death is the most terrible idea I've ever heard. As if MMOs weren't masochistic enough already. Anyways I had this idea for a game. An MMO space sim. Kinda like freelancer only on a much larger scale. And a more realistic model (with the exception of superluminal travel of course). An entire galaxy could be created, with a scale from enormous space objects, black holes and crap, down to cities and civilizations on certain planets that meet the criteria for life. You, the player, are some joe schmo from wherever. A citizen of the galaxy. You can become a mercenary, a freelancer doing odd-jobs, a criminal, drug runner, soldier, space policeman, etc, etc. When on the ground, it would play kind of like a futuristic GTA. Vehicles, people wandering all over the place, etc. In space it'd be similar to freelancer, with space being populated by random factions and other freelancers, civilians, corporations, etc. Or something. -
Is there a word that defines DAW users?

now who's being the negative nancy? i read a lot of magazines say i'm a producer. no, wrong. i'm a composer. like a amadeus or something. like a mozart. you see i'm just one of the greatest. -
Hey, someone else noticed the irony here! Amazing. Anyways the reinterpretations are novel, but nothing more. Also, OLD OLD OLD OLD OLD. Seriously. Old.

That's right, Shonen works for ...food. On an interesting note, I saw a troll hunter with the guild name <Will PK for Water> farming water motes under Halaa. I lol'd.
-
Not quite. You see, Shonen works for Blizzard. And you see, selling your account is illegal.
-
BOOOOO VERY, VERY disappointing.

Screw all those other realms. Join me, Ramaniscence, Fusion2004, Ade, and more, plus several of the top WoW guilds in the world, on Illidan (US) Horde. First realm to have a guy with both Twin Blades of Azzinoth. The realm of the infamous funeral raid. Etc.
-
All lore jokes aside, does this mean we can use flying mounts in Northrend? Will they be added in as content patches? Or will they be in future expansions? Any idea of what the quest will entail? Hopefully not something ridiculous like the epic hunter quest of old. If it requires killing Illidan I'll probably cry. GNOMISH DEATH KNIGHTS woo! I sense a large disturbance in the forums, as if a million warriors cried out QQ. Hot.

Wow that trailer was kinda disappointing. Where's the always badass CGI that Blizzard is known for? Anyways that aside, this looks to be pretty interesting. I'll reserve judgment until there's more details available. All the news sites and forums are awash with rumors and stuff (such as only paladins being able to roll Death Knights, etc), so I guess it'll be up to Blizzard to clear things up.
