  1. MMmmm these forums smell good now. You smell that? That's the smell of... no spambots! HURRAH! A quick suggestion though-- is it possible to have the names of people on your buddy list appear as a different color? The only discernable difference I have seen is a + that appears by their name in the Active Users list. Not that it would serve any real functionality, but it would be cool anyways.
  2. Me? Most of my friends are going to a big party off campus in Socorro. I'm going nowhere (SNOWED IN).
  3. In no particular order: - Get good grades, finish up my damn associate - Finish my FF7 track, lest zircon strangle me personally! - Find a way to make millions of dollars (numba 1 priority) - Lose some weight - Make more songs to get posted at RTS, OCR, and VGMix! - Be less lazy when it comes to actually posting songs at RTS - Level a blood elf paladin to 70 >_>
  4. You can't rest your hand on the guitar? So palm-muting is out of the question then? What kind of guitar teacher do you have? Clasically trained? "Rock"? If he's classically trained you wouldn't be using a pick anyways... As far as wrist movement goes, I use my wrist for everything. You can't expect to play a lead without moving your wrist. That's nonsense.
  5. I'm having an issue with the new Buddy List thing. The OCR navigation bar is appearing on the buddy list page, making it pretty cluttered and messy and stuff.
  6. Wait, so the expansion isn't coming with a free month of gameplay?
  7. I live in eastern DESERT. You know, the area where there is nothing. At all. Someone make me a spiffy badge for living in the middle of nowhere!
  8. Or as CotMM once explained to me eons ago, you don't play golf for the green jacket.
  9. Yeah, until Microsoft starts buying off people to make DX10 exclusive software. It's inevitable. A hypothetical situation: Some development firm decides they're going to write some new middleware for PC games. Let's say, a physics engine. And everyone is going to want this new fangled physics engine for all their new fangled games. Their software is so inventive, that they manage to secure a patent, so they hold the rights to creating this kind of physics crud for years to come. Before they release their middleware to video game developers, Microsoft offers them an enourmous sum of money to make their physics engine only compatible with DX10. The developers of course oblige, and so now all games with these new physics are DX10 compatible only. Or Microsoft could just go straight to EA and say "make DX10 exclusive games or we will break you." Ahh the joys of monopoly.
  10. For my mom: a very, very nice Seiko wristwatch. For my dad: Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2007 For my uncle: a fancy new floor lamp for his living room. For my aunt: a digital photo frame (displays pictures/slideshows from a digital camera) For my grandma: a Samsung 19" widescreen LCD monitor For my cousin: a Sirius satellite radio system, docking station, and 2 months subscription For my brother: 6 months worth of WoW game cards I got: a shirt and a toy harmonica.
  11. I got a shirt and a harmonica. Expect Harmonica remixes soon.
  12. Some friends and I actually tried to do something like this about five years ago. A good friend of mine had just completed a book of poetry, and we got the idea to turn it into a full media experience, with graphic art and music. We worked on it for a good three or four months but never got anywhere, really (some cool art did come out of it though). However, I still think it's a wicked cool idea, and props to you if you pull it off. It'd be fun to try and interpret someone else's writing into music. Oh, and Shael is a genius.
  13. Rampage, the new level 50 fury talent, was severely bugged. I'm not sure what caused the bugged state, but I think it had to do with dueling (the way you kill something but it doesn't die might have to do with it) but basically what happens is the buff stacks an infinite number of times, allowing you to do absolutely incredible amounts of damage (think millions). Also it wasn't expiring for some reason, because each time you attacked the buff was refreshed (which also wasn't supposed to happen) so if you continue killing stuff, you can continue doing massive damage. Before blizzard fixed it, people were able to literally solo all the end-game instances, capable of one-shotting even nefarian or kel'thuzad.
  14. In the spirit of continuing the off-topicness: I've never really watched much of the original series (a few episodes on G4 here and there-- can't stand that Star Trek 2.0 shit though), but I've seen all the movies. Spock is the man. TNG was the shit. My favorite star trek series thus far (here's to hoping they make new ones some day). Wesley was annoying, agreed. Also, I can't place my finger on why, exactly, but I don't much care for Deanna Troi either. I think it's mostly because Marina Sirtis is a terrible actress (ogod, in the pilot episode she makes me cringe), and that accent just aggravates the hell out of me. DS9 was an overrated bore-fest. It was like a soap opera in space. zzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZZ. The ferengis and their regular antics were the best part of this series, and even that got old in the end. Sisko was a good character though, but the rest of the cast was pretty so-so (with the exception of Worf, solely because we remember his badass-edness from TNG). I liked Voyager. Belanna was annoying as hell though. In fact the one episode where she gets split into a pure human and a pure klingon, I seriously hoped the klingon would eat the human for breakfast. But nooo, they made friends and all the magical fairy children danced around and sung magical happy songs in the magical forest of magical happyness until the magical happy phage came and magically killed all the fairy children in the face. Otherwise it was pretty good. And I don't get the Enterprise hate. I thought it was great. I still watch the reruns on HDNet (mmmm HD Star Trek).
  15. Ok so blizzard just rebooted all the realms in order to apply a 'critical fix'. If you're wondering what could be so critical, . Man, if only I had known, I would have so respecced my brother's warrior and gone and soloed ZG or something. Or one-shot Vandaar and actually won an AV for once. Sure his account would be banned for eternity, but it'd be fun.
  16. I have a neighbor like that. He has a small farm, and sometimes gives us fresh vegetables, or left over meat from his latest slaughter (he has sheep and cows-- both of which are yummy). But he's weird in other ways. For example, I haven't seen him leave his yard in six months... Nice enough though.
  17. Really? It works for me... o.O
  18. I get the most honor in AB. AV is really only good for getting HKs (if you're horde) and those are on diminishing returns, so it's better to do AB or WSG for the bonus honor at the end of each match.
  19. Well poop. I've been doing nothing but AV lately, and I've still yet to win even ONE. 0 wins, 31 losses. It'd be nice if I could even win one. Just one. It's all I ask.
  20. What OS are you using? If you're using WinXP Home, you're probably boned. If you have WinXP Pro, open windows explorer, go to Tools > Folder Options, go to the View tab, and at the bottom, uncheck "Use simple file sharing". Then the security and sharing tabs should appear in properties.
  21. I use a Johnson J-Station for gigging. It's got a pretty decent variety of amp sims, and when you hook it up to a PC via MIDI and use the editing software, you can do all kinds of shit with it. As far as in-home recording goes, it's not bad, but you'd be better off with Guitar Rig 2 or AmpliTube 2 or something. Or you could buy a Peavey JSX stack or combo.
