I've always wanted to give one of these compos a try. This sounds like a good one to start!

so, over 15 years ago (wow!), we did a random open collab tune in Fruity Loops, passing around an .flp file, each participant adding something to the track consecutively. It was very chaotic, and a lot of fun while it lasted.
So what i'm asking is, who on here is using FLS, and would you be interested in playing around with this format. The idea is that skill and experience level totally doesn't matter - i was almost a complete noob back then, a few more experienced people joined in, and it was just great. the tune that developed was a weird kind of trashy frankenstein megamix, but that's totally ok if you ask me.
I got nothing to do, and would be totally down with doing something like this. I dunno if the active userbase on here is sufficient, but idk where else to post it, so why not just try.
It'd be done with only the basic included synths and stock sounds, needless to say. totally barebone FL.

    anyone wanna have some fun?

RULES: so, it crystallized that we are using everything included in the Producer Edition, because apparently everyone has that.

5 day's ago we just said our final goodbyes to the hectic year of 2021, and welcomed with open arms, 2022. To kick off the year, as a formal celebration, we are going to have a no holds back free round!
This means nothing is off limits.
Want to remix a video game source you like? Go ahead! Want to dabble in a soundtrack that's just been released this year? Have at ya! Want to make an original tune? Why not, it's all up to you. Remixes of your favourite artist/song? Yep. Come up with your own OST? Yep. Mashups? Yep. EP's and Concept albums? As long as it's not 2 hours long lol, more power to you!  MIDI Rips? Of course! Nothing is off-limits! You can even do more than one entry (See conditions below). And these are just examples!
The only conditions (Mainly in regards to submission) that apply are as follows:
More than one entry is allowed, but you can only have up to 3 max. If your going to do an OST or EP (Or any extremely lengthy tune), then you can only submit one entry. The free round in PRC bares no relation to the Free Round here. Please don't submit any duplicates from that round. None of the rules in regards to source selection apply here, since it's a free round, however the standard uploading rules for ThaSauce (20mb size, MP3 etc...) remain as normal. And that's it really. Like i said, there is no limitations for creativity, it's whatever you feel is best for submitting. Good luck and have fun! I'm here if you have and questions.
The winner of this round will join the winner of the last round in a Double Dose for MnP Round 131. Hope you have fun!
Tip: If your doing a VGM remix, it would be advised for you to write down the game and source in the description, so people can understand, what's been remixed.
    Deadline: 2nd February @ 1PM
    Closing Date: 4th February@ 1PM
    Vote Ends: 11th February @ 1PM
MnP ARCHIVE  - made by Trism
    submit: https://compo.thasauce.net/rounds/view/MnP130
    MISSION STATEMENT
The goal of Compo:MnP is to promote that "meat and potatoes" conservative approach to remixing: this includes the mood and composition of source tunes. It is up to the remixer to create their own personalization, or to simply give it a sound upgrade. Moreover, the compo is a great opportunity to hone your remixing skills and give video game music the respect that is due. SOME reinterpretation is recommended, but not required.
MnP Instructions/Guidelines - Not applicable this round, but will be in normal/future rounds.
    Guidelines:
Modifying the Source is fine, so long as it doesn't sound completely separate from its original intent.  If you're gonna do a genre change, at least make sure the original aspect of the source is not lost. Tempo changes are fine, as long as it's not a big change. I'm talking like, going from 80bpm to 140bpm.  Submissions must be at a maximum of 20mb (keeping in step with ThaSauce's file size max), and submitted as a MP3 file. Only 1 entry per participant. Previous winner cannot participate but can submit a BONUS entry.  Try to avoid making quality-based comments on submissions until after the Round is concluded.  It is to avoid a Bias in Votes. For this round you can remix more than one source. Do make sure you let me know which source(s) you've picked in the submission notes. MISC/TIPS
    - When picking a source tune, make sure it has a MIDI to make people's lives easier.
    - In-game sound FX are permitted, so long as they don't comprise the whole track (i.e. replacing entire MIDI tracks with just sfx)

Hello friends! I'm pleased to share that, well, I did something I once thought I'd never do. I went back and remastered a whole bunch of my old remixes. Specifically, for the purpose of assembling and releasing a cohesive collection that I call Game Remix, Tracker Homage.
    https://mazedude.bandcamp.com/album/game-remix-tracker-homage-remastered

A tremendous amount of work went into this (extracting layers from the tracker and mixing them in ProTools is a significant time spend), so I hope you enjoy it! Let me know what you think! And Merry Christmas everyone!

Man, twenty years already. Still remember reading your Twas poems back when I was in high school (which might as well feel like eons ago). As always I've enjoyed reading them around the holidays. And have a Merry Christmas.

Congrats Wassup Thunder! A dam shame i missed this one, this is one of my all time favourite tunes...
Oh well, i'll share my thoughts for each one. This one might give me a fair something to talk about, since i know the tune a lot. From the top.
Wassup Thunder - I assume Dragon Valley was inspired by this stage lol. Nice of you to attempt to incorporate Japanese instruments. Really changes the location, but doesn't loose the feel. Awesome idea to incorporate a guitar into the mix, although the guitar is very weirdly detuned, it's a beautiful way to switch things up, since the original is too reliant on the piano. Also i love how you've managed to add some of your own chords there, they work super well. Amazing strings and flutes, it's very vibrant. There's only 2 problems i feel could be improved upon, and honestly i couldn't really articulate exactly the problems, because the good stuff was outweighing the bad. I will say, the main melody, doesn't get used as much, which is why i love the composition so much, i feel it's too reliant on original material. Second i feel we could break it down in the same way it does with the main melody, at around 2 minutes into the original composition. I also don't feel the sudden switchup at the end (I think you're remixing Dragon Valley here?). It took me out of the flow (Even more jarring when you end on the Dragon Road motif.) I don't know, that was too...left-field for me. The sounds and melodies were lovely, and the idea was amazing, it just needs a few things for me, but other than that, lovely stuff, well done!
Souperion - Man this is soo different, i would have loved to see you work on more on this! The idea is sooo different, i love it. Especially love the chord progression in this, sounds like the original, but it feels like it's been switched up into something new. Loving the eastern instrumentation, plays right into the traditional feel of the composition, instead of the electronic elements. The sounds are lovely, the chords are really something. The melody does get masked personally, the chords seem to be pushing it down. I also feel like more could be added, it's like an intro to the main event, however though the rest was lovely, you did a really awesome job on the arrangement, well done!

    It's results time.
Souperion got 2 points and the last place wooden spoon.
And the winner of PRC437 is Wassup Thunder with 3 points.
Wassup Thunder you are the winner. You may pick a source for PRC439 which will have two sources. Send the source to me (with a MID/MP3 file, otherwise send a second source with a MID file) by PM, other options are PM me @ ThaSauce or by e-mailing to bambombim@gmail.com (I prefer a PM @Ocremix). Send your source as fast as you can, but before next Wednesday (12 January 2022), 11:00 AM ThaSauce time (18:00 UTC, 19:00 GMT).
You may select any source from any game, but not a source with an OverClocked remix or a source which has been used in PRC before. An overview of the past PRC's can be found in the following links (I recently updated this site):
    http://sites.google.com/site/bambombim/prc
