options -> MIDI settings -> remote control input. set it to your device, i.e. the name of your keyboard. have you tried that already? edit: also, you know how to make it record, right? click the record button on the playback control (so that it lights up) and make sure you have a pattern and chanel selected to record to. otherwise you'll have wasted a good bit of time. They are worth it. assuming you're talking about the percussion, yes. there's some excellent stuff there. I don't know so much about any of the actual intruments, though - who's actually bought some of the pitched-instrument sample cd's from them and can give us a headsup on quality?

for that whole discussion above about pops and cracks in FL Studio: did you check the volume monitor? also, if you fixed it already, no worries. but clipping makes pops and cracks and it's caused by the sound hitting the ceiling and flattening itself - you fix it by a) turning it down or doing other things that I have no knowledge of and someone else can probably help you better.

soraya, I've got a pretty decent sitar/electric sitar sample that can do good work with the right tweaks on eq and reeverb (also effects - lots of fun to be had with delays and choruses). email me and I'll see what I can do for you.

I don't understand at all how there could have been a huge brass-'n-kickass finale at 3:17. I also don't understand why you (SixthFlyingMan, SpaceDrake) refuse to view the song as a progression as opposed to a single idea. Chrono Trigger is full of development, full of change and evolving characters/plots/emotions. I was trying to capture that concept of change, and to claim that Chrono Trigger was comprised entirely of seven heroes traipsing through time on a whirlwind adventure is arrogant and ignorant. I wrote the ending that way on purpose, and I could honestly care less about how you think I should have written it. So maybe write out how you think it should have gone, send me a sample, and then I might think about changing it. Maybe. man, I really come off as an ass in this post.

Man, Darke - you beat me to it. However, I would add that anyone participating is a volunteer, and I'm pretty sure I haven't heard anything about money going in any direction. To reiterate what Darkesword said, remixing isn't something that you view as putting time and effort into. It's something you do because you enjoy doing it. At least, I am. Maybe you just don't know what you're talking about? Speaking of this project: any more WIP's/final versions out?

hooray edit: I'm going to leave the song the way it is for now. I haven't heard the full editions of anyone else's songs yet (or even a wip, in some cases), so I'll wait and see who else made what. I'd kind of like for everyone to have a fighting chance, you know?

Yeah, after I had finished the song I re-read the audition guidlines and found that I had skipped the part about 3:00 long (+/- 5-10s) and had only read the part about "the only limit is the 3:00" and that it could be however long you wanted. My apologies, but I still like it.

I love days off from school. I finished my audition piece in another few hours. Rellik, just for you I stuck closer to the original near the end. It's more than long enough now (4:20), with more emotional pull (I think?!) and variation. I'm actually considering submitting this to VGMix - I hadn't expected to get a full work out of an audition. I'm not at liberty to give details, but know that it's about an important character in the game. Oh yeah, it's more of a sad kind of love song than a happy style. Just a heads up, in case that ruins your groove.

Using FL? What I'll do is take your garden variety toms on a drumkit and alter their pitches - like pitch the top tom higher, the mid tom slightly lower/higher, and the low tom lower. Good luck, hope this helps.

Great stuff, pretzel. My only complaint is that now my Booster song won't be near as appreciated... :: sniff:: ... The sax is suprisingly realistic. You don't hear many good synth saxes. Or at least I don't. The guitar is pretty good, too. Definitely one of the best dj pretzel mixes. Good job.

Great song, but I agree with the majority of posts: that bassline kind of detracted a bit from the song. But other than that, quality stuff from the Peeples.

I love this song. It's one of the few regulars on my playlist along with "Just Chill", "Mecharok", and many McVaffe works. Great work on this.

Every time I listen to this masrterpiece, I'm transported back to Chrono Cross. This song is awesome. Musical genius.
