Heyo! I'm not dead! And yuh, I'm gonna be making at least one track for this. Going gangsta this year! -
2. ready for review Sonic & Knuckles - High Voltage (RESUB)
Seth Skoda replied to Seth Skoda's topic in Post Your Game ReMixes!
Okay, I fixed it. https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/1093989 Sounds alright to me, but I definitely wanna hear from someone else. Also, here's the first mix ever submitted, if anyone's interested in hearing the changes. https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/880226 -
I'm satisfied with this, but I wanna make sure I didn't screw up and not catch it, so I'm poasting it here (never mind my spelling, I like toast!). https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/1093989 I'll be editing this poast for a YouTube embed when the video publishes tomorrow evening... Edit: Jesus Christ. Okay, I just listened to it sober. Well, my writing is good (always is when I'm drunk), but I screwed up so bad on the mixing and transitions. Wow, I need to fix this. Edit 2: this and the next poast are the same link. I replaced the audio file in the page.

1. recruiting An OverClocked Christmas v.XV
Seth Skoda replied to The Coop's topic in Recruit & Collaborate!
For real, I just searched Google for "Christmas midi" and downloaded a bunch of MIDI sequences that I found lol Then I went through them until I found something that I thought was worth a mix. @Argle maybe try this before you give up? -

Not intending to double poast, but I am dropping in to say that I have submitted my second Christmas track. Both are radically different from my 2019 tracks, btw -

I got one finished so far. Sending it by PM, as I'm not uploading it anywhere public until late next month. Also, sorry about last year. A certain individual in my life really dragged me down without me even realizing it until it was too late. -
Looking for this soundtrack on vgz to rip the instruments https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haunting_(video_game)

I always like this tune during the holidays. Nice pick, yo! -
I shortened it, arranged a few things, complete overhaul on sound design and mixing. I intend to make a few small changes. Here's what it sounds like now https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/958152 And if anyone is curious, here is the one from last year (the one that got rejected) https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/880226 Cocks

I think I'll throw in my hat this year with some 16-bit era chip music. -
You know, I liked Trism's mix the best, but I voted for TheVideoGamer's mix as first place because I felt that it more closely met what MnP is about. Both fantastic tracks, though. The bonus tracks were great as well.

SEGA Genesis chip music. Key: C# minor https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/930708 Melodic trap. Key: F# minor https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/930941 Take your pick.

Dude... You know most of these source tunes are from classic era Sonic games, right? That being said, I recently remixed (and submitted) Flying Battery Zone (originally from Sonic & Knuckles), and I have a WIP of Lava Reef Zone (both acts) sitting around somewhere. Here's the Flying Battery Zone remix. Melodic trap /EDM style. https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/880226

What kind of style do you seek? Are you going fully modern? Or are you looking to give it just a slight upgrade? By slight upgrade I mean like maybe a slightly newer console than Amiga. If you were thinking to go full 16-bit console style, I'd be your guy, so long as I could find a decent source. VGM/VGZ or MIDI formats would be something I could use. Here's why I'd be the guy for that https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/926256 https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/925873 https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/923416 https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/923901 https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/896595 If you're looking for something else, do let me know while I seek out something I could use. I am capable of more than chip sounds. Meanwhile, see if you can do a VGM dump of the tunes with an emulator or something. That may help future candidates.

There are only two tracks I can choose... I would think there would be more participation with all the quarantines going on. By the way, I cast my vote. Both submissions were fantastic, thanks for the ear candy, guys!

SEGA Genesis Music - Collabs, Covers and Originals
Seth Skoda replied to Seth Skoda's topic in Post Your Original Music!
I'm updating this with several collaborative works. All of these were initially written by swosp, and what you hear in all of these tracks contain varying degrees of alterations to the original composition. The first one is kinda vaporwave and utilizes the Sonic 3 sound driver. https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/927801 Next, I kinda just played with the sounds until I found something that sounded just right to me. Also kinda mellow, but not as mellow as the first one in this reply. https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/925873 Next is some of the heavier stuff swosp wrote for a symphonic metal side project. https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/923063 And here's the one that got him started sending me his MIDI. At the time when I made this, I had no knowledge of his old metal project, for which he had originally written this. He had uploaded it as an 8 bit chiptune, and my first thought was to not just Genesize it, but metallize it as well. This is the result of my work with it. https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/918954 If you just search Google for "Satiment Alidwel Grothen," you'll find not only the 8 bit version, but not too deep into the results is the original rendition under the band name "Absilentia." Here's swosp's Newgrounds page. He's rather versatile, as he also produces beats and EDM (and then some). https://swosp.newgrounds.com/ -
