Let's hope you win then. Kind of ruined the surprise, now that i know which source the next round is going to be lol.
Hey, now, I didn't say I was definitely going to pick that one. I have quite a few in mind. Most of them obscure.

Maybe it was more than a coincidence lol.
In any case, I'd like to pick a source tune for one of these one day.
This obscure tune is one of my choices:
Give it a few seconds to get to the main part. It's beautiful.

That can't be a coincidence :3
I know, right? We also submitted our tracks close to the same time. That's odd...
-
A nice spicy blend of oldschool hip-hop funkiness is served. We be Jammin'
@TheVideoGamer oh, haha. I see your track is called Groovin. Mine is called Jammin. Nice.
-
I listened to the MIDI on GXSCC. It sounds pretty freaking cool. It also loops perfectly.
-
Yo, what's the maximum number of tracks we can submit? I mean, if two is the limit, I have a new track on the way that could replace Techno Canon. I rearranged Carol Of The Bells as dark trap in 4/4 (instead of the source's 3/4).. And the mixing is on point this time. It may or may not be up to OCR standards (even though that's not a requirement here).
And yes, I know, I'm a pain in the ass.
EDIT: lmao 69 poasts
-
The mixing is a bit off, I'll admit. I also want to throw in a solo or something to add more original content and make it more of a "ReMix" know what I mean?

You don't know my capacity for not following through on things.
Oh, come on, now. Don't let half of this album be my tracks.

So, in replying to a topic, I accidentally tapped the slider to "hide" my reply. I had intended to tap the other slider to "notify me of replies." After realizing my mistake, I edited my reply. It did not work. My forum reply was still in pink/red, but I thought that refreshing the page would show the edit properly. Nope, it's gone. It fell into oblivion.

What happened?
I accidentally slid the "Hide" slider. I edited it to slide it back over and that apparently didn't work.
2 hours ago, TheVideoGamer said:Huh, that's odd. Mine went alright. Best to message the mods about it, if it keeps happening
Well, this is the first time, so I'll leave it be. My poast was just to say that I'll be joining.

As the first post says, you can remix a song in any style. And as for songs already remixed in the past, that's not an issue either. Hell, I've gone back and redone remixes, so covering a song someone else did on a past album is fine. And if more than one person ends up picking the same song, that's fine too. The only real limitation here is the deadline, which is looming closer.
Good, good. Deadlines generally aren't an issue for me, as I usually can make a decent rearrangement within a week. Sometimes in the course of a day. It's my original works that take a long time.
Could I submit two, should I find the inspiration to do so?

Hey @Seth Skoda! I was gonna give you a listen on this and post some thoughts but the link you have there goes to a track called "Nightcore RS" rather than "Gangsta With A Mustache". Could it maybe be the wrong song ID in the URL?
Thank you so much! I must have got mixed up with linking songs that break the rules in the audio forum over on Newgrounds. Fixing the link right now.

I'd say it's pretty self-explanatory what this is.
-
I somewhat agree with the above poast, listening to it again. About the mids and highs point.
The strategy I've used with the last few pieces I've made is not to EQ, but use both a low-pass and high-pass filter on midrange and treble instruments. It's an effective way to completely cut unwanted frequencies.
Otherwise, not bad at all.
-
I wanted to go a slightly different route with this rearrangement. More atmosphere, a dark, ambient piece that still has the trap feel.
A few mixing/volume level issues here, but I consider it almost complete. Honestly, my biggest concern is that it doesn't resemble the source material enough to be accepted.
Anyway, it's part of a planned album for S3&K.

Feel free to suggest an alternate title.

Man...this white background and that wall of text (that is small for an old fart like me) is making it very hard for me to focus. ....Right imma go copy and paste that into a word doc.
Might I suggest that you color-code certain parts to emphasize the most pertinent points? Maybe rely on bullet points etc. Or maybe I'm just retarded. Anyways.....
I see someone is getting used to the dark side (Newgrounds)
By the way, try viewing on mobile. Much easier on the eyes imo
EDIT: What? A dark theme on OCR? Blasphemy!
