  1. I haven't listened to anything from OCR in 4-5 years. I stick around (lurking mostly) because as far as I can tell, OCR is one of the only decent communities left on the internet. Plus, people here have been very kind to me in the past. Namely Blue Magic, CHIPP damage, and atmuh. The quality of the music hasn't changed, I'm just in a different part of my life, and a lot of things have been left behind. I still very much enjoy game music, I just don't have time for it.
  2. I've played it, and may revisit it at some point on my Vita, but I didn't care for it. I got stuck on an early map with some Knight who destroyed my party. It was quite awhile ago, it's possible I didn't give it a fair chance.
  3. This trailer looks good and all ( I know it not an actual game), but I just want them to work on a new Tactics game. The graphics could just be high-res sprites like Disgaea 4. Actually, I don't really care what it looks like at this point. I just wish Square would put some effort into a fantasy based(knights and black mages) Tactics game. Honestly, it could have the same job system and skills as the original, just a new storyline and characters and I would be really satisfied. I sound like the type of fanboy that's killing the videogame industry, but I honestly don't care about Final Fantasy anymore. However, I would like that to change. The easiest way to do that would be a new mainline Tactics game (didn't care for the GBA or DS iterations.)
  4. The filler in Naruto has been pretty awful, and there's been so much of it. I suppose it's a necessary evil. Speaking of filler, I have to imagine that episode of Dragon Ball Z where Goku and Piccolo get their driver's license has to be filler. That's one of my favorite episodes of the series though.
  5. I've actually been watching Naruto Shippuden occasionally on Hulu (when it's not filler). They go back to the original Naruto time line so much now. How many times can they show how team 10 met, and the Uchiha masacre? A lot apparently.
  6. So i haven't watched anime in about 3 years, and I have a 3 week break from class. What are some good shows that are somewhat new? I have Break Blade, Infinite Stratos, and Sekirei laying around. Feel free to recommend anything new-ish. I feel quite out of the loop.
  7. I got a PS vita yesterday for my birthday. My PSN ID is tragick. The price of the memory cards have dropped slightly since launch on Amazon, if you buy from a 3rd party seller. I just ordered a 32GB card for $72.00 shipped. It's still highway robbery, but much more tolerable than $99.00 So far I'm pretty impressed with Near, there are 11 Playstation Vita's within 2KM of me, unless I'm somehow misunderstanding how Near works.
  8. I played the demo and didn't really care for it. I'm also not a fighting game kind of guy.
  9. I remember coming home everyday to watch Sailormoon,DBZ, Ronin Warriors and I would usually skip Reboot ( which I think was the other show on at the time?). It only got better from there, I remember all the promos for Gundam Wing. I didn't know anything about Gundam at the time. All the promos were mysterious with dialogue akin to "watch out! It's a gundam!" What was that toonami after dark thing called, where they would show the less edited version of Gundam Wing? it was on a 10 or midnight or something.
  10. This. Fucking this. I've always thought this. I watch Japanese w/ subs, I'm not completely sure why. I think I'm just fooling myself.
  11. Took my 3DS grocery shopping today and got my first street pass.
  12. I'm not going to sell my 3DS, mostly because it's not worth much, but also because I know I'll regret it at some point. At some point the JRPG flood gate will open on the 3DS (just like the DS, hopefully) I have all the ambassador games, of course, but not much outside that. Pushmo looks cool, and I wanted to get it, but isn't it like 8 dollars? I know that's splitting hairs, but it made me hesitate. VVVVVV doesn't appeal to me, just because I'm not that patient, and I'm pretty sure I would throw my DS and the hinge would become looser. (I'm not a violent person, but I loosened my hinge on my GBA SP by shaking it after dying for like 20th time in Tactics Ogre Knight of Lodis) My only Hesitation about Kid Icarus is the control setup. Does it support the circle pad pro, or will I be forced to use that plastic stand? You say it seems packed with content, but to me it just seems schizophrenic. It's cool that it has multiplayer but I'm not sure I would ever play it. The AR card battle thing seems pretty off the wall, and not something I would utilize either. Also are you guys getting any street passes? I don't carry my 3DS much anymore, but I did religiously the first 6 months after launch. I've never gotten street passed, ever. (and yes the wifi switch is ON)
  13. I'm glad to see you guys getting such good use out of your 3DS's. I've been feeling pretty down about my 3DS. I got Mario Land and MK7 for Xmas and they were fun for a short period of time. I've also been playing Tales of the Abyss the last month or so, but I don't know if I'll continue. I'm about 11 hours in and it is pretty boring. I'm not much of an RE fan, and I've played Snake Eater a dozen times and don't think I could stomach it again (though it is my favorite MGS, and I used to be a big MGS fan.) I'm looking forward to Fire Emblem, though I've never played any of the previous ones.
  14. I went last Tuesday and my local Gamestop had a demo unit in the back of the store next to the back door where all the xbox 360 used games are. I read (I think on joystiq) that Gamestop was getting demo units and I was shocked that they had one. If i wasn't specifically looking for the demo unit, I would have never noticed it. So, how do you guys feel about digital Vs retail games on Vita? I prefer retail, since it feels like you "own" that game more than just having a license to play it. Apparently the retail games do not come with paper manuals for Vita (at least the 4 or 5 that were released early).
  15. I wish I had the time or money to get a Vita. I tried it out at Gamestop and it was pretty impressive. I didn't expect the system to be as light as it is. I never upgraded from the original PSP though, and that system was a clunker.
  16. I'm never going to sit down and play an NES game I've come to realize. I'll probably get more use out of the GBA games, at least.
  17. Every time I read something new about the 3DS I always ask myself "Why the hell did I buy a 3DS?" I don't get what Nintendo's doing, and I never even play the system. I feel pretty lukewarm about the entire thing. Games are coming, but Nintendo is acting really strangely, to me. I know it's not the first system to have it's price cut so soon, but it just seems like a huge blunder.
  18. It took me about 3 days to beat it the first time. I rushed through new game plus in one day. It's quick when you aren't paying attention to the story much. Bastion is literally the only game that I have all of the achievements unlocked in. Still one of my favorite games in the last couple years. I'm glad it is on Steam now, so it will gain a bigger audience. I haven't been on my Xbox in awhile because of school, but back when I played it, no one on my friend list was playing it.
  19. I've had mine since launch and been on the store several times, but I didn't check the "news" section of the eshop to see that ambassador message. I guess Nintendo removed it for everyone now that the price has dropped. I hope Nintendo has their criteria all together and there's no confusion about which people are and are not ambassadors.
  20. I played up to night 6, and I don't think I can continue playing. I like everything but the gameplay involving blocks. It's got touchy controls, which i can almost forgive, but the game is really difficult for me on the easiest difficulty. I'll probably send it back to Gamefly soon.
  21. That would be pretty spectacular. I can't see it happening though. There's already GB, GBC and now apparently GBA games for 3DS VC. That's a massive library to work through. Not that every game would be released, but hell, they are still releasing VC crap on the Wii.
  22. Hmm? This is interesting. The GBA games help to soften the blow for being an early adopter.
  23. Amazon's date for the ps3 version still says 2-28-2011. They have a $10 credit with preorder. Is it still coming out for ps3 even? I'm looking forward to eventually playing it, I was a big fan of XI back in the day. Maybe I'll be out of school by the time it finally does come out, ha!
  24. Yeah, from the demo it didn't quite "click" for me. I was all "this is the combat system that everyone is raving about? why?" It seems pretty straightforward from the demo, but the real complexity of the game comes from the different combinations of the weapons. There's also the blocking/counter system which I didn't grasp very well from the demo. I was quickly addicted to it, but it seems like one of those games that gets good reviews that no one really plays. I think it gets much better passed the demo.
  25. Why is no one talking about Bastion? Bastion is an Xbox arcade game by Super Giant Games. It's got a really beautiful hand painted art style, amazing narration, a tight complex combat system and a slew of weapons to upgrade. The music is also quite impressive, there are at least 2 songs with vocals that are excellent. Nobody on my friend list is playing it, which is a shame. I beat it tonight and got 170/200 achievement points. The Proving Grounds are super addictive. Anyone else playing this gem? http://youtu.be/t8cELTdtw6U Here's a link to one of the tracks from the game.
