  1. Massively compressed to the point where things are just lost. Great playing, but the production on this piece is killing it. The snare sounds like I'm tapping my finger on a cardboard box. Needs a major technical overhaul. NO resub
  2. Aw yeah. So smoove. I love that big string sound. Despite being laid-back, it's got a serious 80s/90s sci-fi anime feel, like with some giant robots in space and a love story or something. You know what I'm saying. I like the quiet, gated synth in the background; it really adds a nice pulse to the track. Very full sound, good balance. YES
  3. What a weird collection of tunes. But hey, it works, so why sweat it? Seriously, I'm surprised to see such a cohesive piece. Transitions are good, there's excellent development across the entirety of the piece, and the performances are extremely solid all around. Very nicely done. I don't usually like medleys, but this works really well as a piece of music on its own. YES
  4. Man I love BlazBlue music. Wow this sounds like something out of a Sonic Adventure game, like Twinkle Park or something. Piano is kind of mechanical, but it's not so bad that it kills the mix. Pretty straightforward genre-adaptation, but it's got a good sound and decent development. Nice key change. xD I like it! YES
  5. Posted a link in the first post that features all of the mixes collected into a single zip file, with updated tags and filenames. If anyone can mirror, please do.
  6. Happy Birthday Ferret. CAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKE
  7. Mixes are go, including a new badge for you all.
  8. If you wanna play, catch me on AIM or IRC.
  9. I dunno. Puzzle Quest 2 is fun, but I think I prefer the first one. They changed enough from 1 to 2 that you can appreciate them separately.
  10. This is a thread to discuss the Puzzle Quest games by Infinite Interactive. The first Puzzle Quest game is on sale today on Steam for $1.50. There's no reason to NOT own this game. It's really fantastic and a lot of fun. PC versions of PQ and PQ2 have an online versus mode, so if anyone ever wants to throw down, I'd love to play some matches!
  11. I'll post the mixes tonight. I have been sick with a cold.
  12. I've used the ability to shoot around corners to take out sentries as a soldier.
  13. It's in your best interests to only buy Daily Deals until the last day.
  14. Wes, you're a mod. Just merge the threads. xD
  15. Guys, take the Killing Floor talk to another thread. EDIT: nvm, decided to just split KF posts to a new thread.
  16. Do you actually have to download the trailers or can you just stream them on the game pages?
  17. Moved all the comments from the press release thread to this thread. Great job on the album guys. Some real gems, specifically Ben Briggs's stuff.
  18. Yes, it is. It's a really fun take on Breakout-style paddle games with an awesome soundtrack. One of its songs also that has nothing to do with the game.
  19. No it isn't, it just seems that way because the trajectories aren't straight-lines. As time progresses, gravitational pull increases, so you have to adjust for curving approaches.
  20. caaaaaaaaaaaaaaaake
  21. These fakey string samples are killing me. Guitar sounds great and is played well. There's a nice folksy approach here in this track; feels like I could be hiking through the tundra or something. Percussion especially is nice. Problem is I think you need some more source usage and you need to think about your transitions and making them a little less abrupt. Would like to hear this again with some revisions. NO, resub
  22. Nearly half of this mix is just the guitars gliding up and down around the chord progression. When the melody finally makes an appearance, it's diatonically offset by a third or something, which I guess is fine, but it would have been nice to hear the actual melody. Performances are good but I think you need to look at the production on this and maybe bring it down a bit. NO, resub
  23. A cleaner recording/render would be nice. Arrangement is great though, love the jazzier approach. Yes, conditional on reverb/eq fix
  24. I think Vinnie's right on with talking about the "looseness." It's distracting. Orchestral opening is weak, but when it goes rock, it's pretty good. Wah is a little weird, but otherwise some good guitar and drums stuff. YES
  25. Unfortunately the disparity between the percussion elements and the rest of the mix is really noticeable. I think the whole mix is being a bit overpowered by your kick drum. Otherwise I think it's a really cool mix. Some nice ideas, like the woodblock percussion, organ, and the flute. The more I listen to this, the more I'm okay with the percussion though. It's a nice little piece. Great vibraphone too. YES
