  1. If you wanna play, catch me on AIM or IRC.
  2. I dunno. Puzzle Quest 2 is fun, but I think I prefer the first one. They changed enough from 1 to 2 that you can appreciate them separately.
  3. This is a thread to discuss the Puzzle Quest games by Infinite Interactive. The first Puzzle Quest game is on sale today on Steam for $1.50. There's no reason to NOT own this game. It's really fantastic and a lot of fun. PC versions of PQ and PQ2 have an online versus mode, so if anyone ever wants to throw down, I'd love to play some matches!
  4. I'll post the mixes tonight. I have been sick with a cold.
  5. I've used the ability to shoot around corners to take out sentries as a soldier.
  6. It's in your best interests to only buy Daily Deals until the last day.
  7. Wes, you're a mod. Just merge the threads. xD
  8. Guys, take the Killing Floor talk to another thread. EDIT: nvm, decided to just split KF posts to a new thread.
  9. Do you actually have to download the trailers or can you just stream them on the game pages?
  10. Moved all the comments from the press release thread to this thread. Great job on the album guys. Some real gems, specifically Ben Briggs's stuff.
  11. Yes, it is. It's a really fun take on Breakout-style paddle games with an awesome soundtrack. One of its songs also that has nothing to do with the game.
  12. No it isn't, it just seems that way because the trajectories aren't straight-lines. As time progresses, gravitational pull increases, so you have to adjust for curving approaches.
  13. caaaaaaaaaaaaaaaake
  14. These fakey string samples are killing me. Guitar sounds great and is played well. There's a nice folksy approach here in this track; feels like I could be hiking through the tundra or something. Percussion especially is nice. Problem is I think you need some more source usage and you need to think about your transitions and making them a little less abrupt. Would like to hear this again with some revisions. NO, resub
  15. Nearly half of this mix is just the guitars gliding up and down around the chord progression. When the melody finally makes an appearance, it's diatonically offset by a third or something, which I guess is fine, but it would have been nice to hear the actual melody. Performances are good but I think you need to look at the production on this and maybe bring it down a bit. NO, resub
  16. A cleaner recording/render would be nice. Arrangement is great though, love the jazzier approach. Yes, conditional on reverb/eq fix
  17. I think Vinnie's right on with talking about the "looseness." It's distracting. Orchestral opening is weak, but when it goes rock, it's pretty good. Wah is a little weird, but otherwise some good guitar and drums stuff. YES
  18. Unfortunately the disparity between the percussion elements and the rest of the mix is really noticeable. I think the whole mix is being a bit overpowered by your kick drum. Otherwise I think it's a really cool mix. Some nice ideas, like the woodblock percussion, organ, and the flute. The more I listen to this, the more I'm okay with the percussion though. It's a nice little piece. Great vibraphone too. YES
  19. I played this game quite a bit when I was younger, and I was quite fond of this source tune. Intro was great but you lost me at :28ish, when that fakey mechanical sitar comes it. Coupled with big sustained pads and very weak percussion, the whole thing feels very lethargic. The variation in this piece is pretty nice though, but I think that the production issues mentioned by other judges are hurting it. You should look into some better samples and balance them better. 2:50 especially feels a bit crowded. Cool piece, I'd like to see some revisions. NO, resub
  20. I'm with Palp and CHz. I feel like a lot of this mix is very long sustained notes with a couple of synthy embellishments. When we do get the melody of the original, it's mostly some mechanically sequenced run-through of the source tune. There's a nice atmosphere, but ultimately I don't think it expands much on the source material, and I think the performances of the organic elements could be more humanized. NO, resub
  21. blluuuueaaagh Yeah, so the final begins now. Good luck to Txai and Willrock.
  22. Folks, remember, this isn't a Steam Treasure Hunt thread, this is a TF2 thread. There's already a topic for the Treasure Hunt. Posts have been moved to the appropriate thread.
  23. Threads about video game websites and services belong in Community.
  24. That's even less of a genre than 'game' is.
  25. It's available on iTunes now. http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/a-viva-girls-christmas/id406408755
