  1. Yup. I did do stuff afterwards and had Bard around 50 (not hard). And hey, to my credit, that first 75 job was Ninja...and I was a Tarutaru. This was before they started to fix up the economy way back too, so that wasn't the easiest first job to bring up but It was too badass. Briefly looking, my beloved job's barely gotten much of anything new since I was on years ago, while they've practically doted on PLD. Still don't even have Jubaku and Dokumori Ni. Bastards. lol
  2. The giant hyena...bird...thing really is pretty trippy.
  3. I played XI for a while myself, even got one job up to 75/37 though I kinda decided MMORPGs weren't for me and trailed off. So I don't know if I'd get into this. I don't think it'd hurt to keep it in Vana'Diel though, it's a cool world.
  4. I dunno, I always thought it'd be pretty cool to have a game where Samus' history with the federation was shown a bit. I know it's kind of the opposite of the classic games' vague atmosphere but you know...it's been done. Maybe they'll handle it alright, Ryu wasn't exactly the most emotionally explosive and talkative character either despite all the cut scenes. What's cool about the third person perspective is we'll get to have the hyper dash, traditional screw attack, and other things possibly come back as well as new ways of using her equipment. Get to show off Samus' more dynamic movements in full glory again. I hope it'll still have a good deal of utterly lost exploration mixed in though.
  5. It wouldn't be fair to judge it yet, though things like it released in the past and ultimately ending up as forgotten gimmicks is a sort of tough history to prove itself against. In my opinion, video games won't lead into Virtual Reality. Radical control methods like this will never be fully integrated into traditional video games as we know them today no matter how hard its tried. If something like Virtual Reality happens and potentially becomes accepted, it's going to spawn from a completely different area rather than video games.
  6. Out of curiousity did anyone here play FFXI? And I mean...not just briefly either.
  7. With Kojima doing a Castlevania game supposedly, and Team Ninja helping to make a Metroid game...it's like the out-the-left field developer time right now. I'm just glad Metroid's continuing. It could turn out to be anything at this point. I liked the first person Prime gameplay, but I'm kinda glad something different's being tried now. I just wish it'd be post Fusion.
  8. Yeah, they all always just mention their system even if its multi platform. I loved the almost awkward clapping after they showed this.
  9. Nah, all the Snakes and Big Boss himself definitely didn't have brown eyes.
  10. I wonder why the short isn't shown at every theater... I thought this was a fun movie. Wall-E's still my favorite, but after such a borderline serious and surrealistic film like that it was nice to go for a comedy adventure. Though that intro with Carl's entire life and Ellie passing, and it being implied that Russell has a pretty messed up family life...all set to a kind of bittersweet (But great) soundtrack were all pretty baawww worthy. It's got some undertones but that's why I love Pixar films. They're actually willing to have a kind of underlying dark thread like that even in a seemingly lighthearted comedy like this. It's what gives them broad appeal imo. Makes "both kids and adults can enjoy it" actually have meaning. Carl was one badass old man. Alpha with that high pitched voice made me laugh more than it should've.
  11. Lol raiden. To think, all that crap, all that screaming and temper tantrums...all over Raiden's eye color. Jeeze Hideo. I called 360 too.
  12. I have to admit as insane as robo-Sunny sounds, it does sort of look like it could be a flat out woman than a pretty man. But we are talking about (maybe!!!!!!)Raiden here. Or whatever the hell he is. Man, I swear if it's robo-Sunny...lol
  13. Does every single post from you have to look like you're jumping up and down? I never said it was Raiden for sure, just that it mostly does look like him. He does have the same hair, similar face, and it looks like the same cyborg suit with minor differences. I mean...I guess it could be Frank for all anyone knows, but I don't remember Gray Fox looking quite that feminine either, especially by his cyborg days. But...I'm still not saying it's Raiden for sure because the barcode is there, and of course the eye. I have one crazy shot in the dark...what if it's Raiden's body but someone else' mind? Like Frank for instance? I mean he's mostly machine now so that's not as far fetched as some other stuff this series has pulled. The eye bandage could always be something more metaphorical, Kojima loves that stuff. There's also the very real possibility that Kojima just had the eye colored brown to mess with us for no reason. Also these letters/numbers appear now. R E 5(could always be S too) P R C 6 O(or it could be 0) 3 For what it's worth. You know you can spell out PS3, or 360 so maybe it'll be multi platform this time. I dunno.
  14. I looked at the thing for almost 5 minutes and nothing happened, so I was a bit confused about why it needed to know my age too. Maybe it'll become something eventually. Plus it's official. Still looks mostly like Raiden to me but there are some differences...plus the eye color. I dunno, it could be just pointless cosmetic changes but I'll just call him maybe-Raiden till we hear more. Edit: I keep hearing the crazy, crazy speculation from people that maybe it's Sunny. Not saying I believe that or not...but it's a popular rumor.
  15. Actually when you filter out the extra meat, MGS' story isn't that hard. -Some guy who becomes the best soldier ever, gets a crapload of money from the remains of conspiracy 1 and forms conspiracy 2 with his buddies(best soldier ever's friend, best soldier ever's ho, best soldier ever's #1 fan, movie geek, and black guy. The last two die and don't matter), inspired by best soldier ever's master. -The best soldier ever gets into a fight with one of his buddies because best soldier ever's best bud cloned him behind his back. They split conspiracy 2 into a secret war. -They fight a lot, shit happens, best soldier ever's friend gets old and sulks by replacing conspiracy 2 with conspiracy 3, run by computers. Best soldier ever starts his own country to oppose them, but best soldier ever clone 1 beats him. Then years later, best soldier ever clone 1 beats him for good with a can of deodorant and a lighter. -best soldier ever clone 1 does a bunch of stuff with conspiracy 3 looming above, kills best soldier ever clone 2, and helps traumatized child soldier kill best soldier ever clone 3. He becomes famous, but then he gets old fast because he's a clone and no one cares about him anymore...worshipping real best soldier ever instead. -traumatized child soldier and best soldier ever's ho fight conspiracy 3 because conspiracy 3 wants to control the human race like computers, while best soldier ever's number #1 fan pretends to be best soldier ever 2 in order to do the same thing...but not together...because he's cool like that and thinks he's best soldier ever clone 2. Best soldier ever clone 1 goes and kills best soldier ever's number #1 fan, but it's part of best soldier ever's #1 fan's plan and conspiracy 3 is destroyed. -best soldier ever clone 1 meets best soldier ever after many years and say sorry to eachother. best soldier ever dies, and best soldier ever clone 1 smokes a cigar cause he has a few months to live, that he'll probably spend wondering what the hell just happened. -There's giant robots mixed in there somewhere. And they all lived happily ever after.
  16. Well...it explains how Judgement Day happened anyways, just later. But other than that not really. It basically took a crap on the you make your own fate theme of the second film. I've heard some people rationalize that Judgement Day -was- the fate we made for ourselves, it's all valid cause it's interpretation but I still personally feel like it was pretty exceedingly unecessary to go past the second film. I thought Salvation was middle of the road, it wasn't great but it was alright I guess... certainly better than 3 imo, but it still has that overencompassing feeling of "did we really need to go to the future?" for me. It's a summer explosion film though, so it is what it is. It lacks the central character dynamic that made the first two a -little- more than action sci fi flicks, but the war at least looks sorta cool I guess. (though the third's disastrous attempt to recreate that was its main fall imo so maybe abandoning that was for the best.) I think if they concentrated more on John's relations to Marcus, and actually tried to keep Marcus' status as a hybrid a surprise it would have turned out a bit better. It seems like the film was making his true nature out to be this big surprise in the story...but the trailer basically gave it away months before the film came out, and the beginning of the film's pretty clear about it too. Seems totally contradictory to me. If you're gonna make something a revelation, make it a revelation I say.
  17. I think it's kind of amusing that the film closed with the famous no fate but what we make motto, all things considering since the third film.
  18. I read everything you said, I just don't really believe it personally. I dunno it looks like Raiden to me...
  19. I dunno about that, Snake never needed an eyepatch right up to the end. I guess anything's possible but that'd be kind of strange. Plus I think BB and Snake have very subtle differences, even if they look similar.
  20. This movie was a lot of fun, more than I was expecting. If I have to be a nerd to like it so be it. Thing is though, is it's the least-nerdy Star Trek anything to appear in a long time. Thing is some die hard fans may say that's a bad thing. That it's too shallow and so on, and that Trek's all about cerebralness. Well I don't fully agree. I think the reason this movie's been so well recieved is because it went back to its roots, to the thing that put it on the map and made people like it to begin with. It put the fun back into it. I mean come on, when it comes right down to it the original series was 70% action adventure, 30% mental. It had some very mental episodes but many of them were more just about a bunch of guys in a ship getting out there and having space exploration adventures. I didn't think it was -that- shallow either. I thought it still had that underlying spirit that makes it distinct from other Sci Fi. It's got some things worth criticizing yeah, but the characters are so much fun, and the overall package had incredible energy that it outweighs all that. And it did it I think without trashing the old universe either. I also really liked how despite the shiny new Enterprise, and the generally optimistic outlook...that it made space feel dangerous and forboding again. Something a trek hasn't done for me in a long time.
  21. Langdon was pretty much the only character with his head on straight. But he does kind of come across as being dragged around, but what do you expect with a story about Vatican conspiracy? I dunno, I guess it was alright. I never read the book but I hear Langdon does even crazier things in it.
  22. I think that being Gray Fox is grasping for straws. It's Raiden without a doubt. Here's my guess. It's a two time period parallel story. One takes place in the present (either pre-MGS4 or post...though latter makes less sense.) with Raiden, and the other takes place in the 70s and 80s with Big Boss in his prime. And somehow the two different stories will connect with eachother. I figure if Raiden spent the time between 2 and 4 going deep to uncover the Patriots (and save Sunny...which is the last loading symbol too.) to the point he even starts working with Eva, that's probably as good a time as any to flash back to BB's time to actually see how the real Patriots rolled...along with everything Eva talks about in 4. That's my guess for now. I gotta say if it is that, between seeing the Patriots/Fox Unit's falling out...and Raiden's eventual fate to be mutilated into a cybernetic body, that's gonna be a very depressing game. And yeah, I wanted ZOE3 more too. I dunno, I love Metal Gear but I feel like it's just too soon. But yeah, Raiden does look pretty awesome with the bandage over his eye.
  23. It was released in Japan a day ago. I want to pick it up at my local import place soon but here's a ton of footage already put onto youtube. 24. I saw the one at E-for-All last year, I'd like to see a newer one sometime if they update the music list. I met David Hayter at that last one, he sat right down our row. It was very surreal.
  25. I don't know much about this whole situation, but I will say there is a clear difference between a troll and an attention whore. Anyways whether it's one or the other, I'd still like to hear whether he accepts this or not just for fun.
