I thought it was allright to upload that kind of material and then just remove it per request from the author/copyright holder.

It makes more sense that they'd make an MMO. Since the late 90s they gradually shifted more and more towards being a dedicated RPG developer. Many of the original Starcraft developers have left Blizzard by now, and Warcraft 3 barely deserves to be labeled an RTS, and just look what they did with the orc campaign in TFT. I don't think they have the capacity to deliver in that department anymore.

The article makes no mention of ganking. There are tons of way to harass members of the same faction.

Use Internet Explorer.

For zombies, The Walking Dead. Unlike most alternatives this one is Romeo-esque to the extreme and focuses solely on the survival aspect instead of buckets of gore or cheap horror. For apocalyptic, Y - The Last Man.

On average how long does it take to be "good"

Thank you for your elaborate and insightful knowledge.

Does anyone play this game? I never really cared for it, but it caught my attention now that I need to fill my MMORPG void. I've browsed through a few reviews, videos and screenshots and narrowed it down to this: + Lots of alternatives to mindless grinding or PvPing + General design seems reminiscent of Forgotten Realms + Plenty of character/class customization + Tried and true interface + Lack of game cards makes it less accessible to annoying brats - Notoriously high system requirements - Many bugs and lack of high level content, though I expect these to be rectified - Not many choices for EU servers. Are EU clients limited to EU servers or is it universal for the western userbase? I also have no idea of Germans/French/Spanish have their own servers, cause I'm not too keen on language barriers. It would also be good to know how effective GMs are and how bots/farmers are being handled, though I guess it's kind of early to tell.

Most post-BC servers are dominated by Horde thanks to their silly little elves.

A great addition for any budding Industrial producer.

$30 for a used, 6 months old game? -
http://fallout.bethsoft.com/ Trailer is released in 34 days, for now we get a fancy image and the title music. Oh yeah, and every week there will be new artwork created by Craig Mullins, known for contributions to Halo and Final Fantasy.

How to properly use effects
lazygecko replied to TheJazzist's topic in Music Composition & Production
You're gonna have to elaborate. What do you mean with authentic? What kind of music are you trying to make? -
The exact same thing can be said for the SPC and its mere 64kb. If you knew a thing or two about compression techniques, switching samples loaded and such you could work around these limitations. Hülsbeck did this on N64 hardware. Sure beats any sequenced music I've heard on the PS1, which no one ever complained about.
-
What's wrong with the N64 sound? Blame the composers for being technically inadequate. Chris Hülsbeck made some awesome shit with it. If anything, the average quality of a SNES soundtrack sounded worse on a relative scale.

Emperor: Battle for Dune -
Sytrus is one of the easiest FM-based synths out there. Trial and error should suffice. It's also one hell of a CPU hog, in relation to what you're getting.

The concept and controls were a very minor refinement of Castlevania, which was often critizised for being stale. Not exactly an ideal way to portray the agility and flexibility of a ninja. The cutscenes were well executed, but fancy plots and images isn't enough to gratify me if the game itself cannot deliver. And I'm fairly confident you can find a console game that pulled off something on the same level if you dig deep enough in the bowels of Japan. Aside from the superior sword logic, double jump and ability to do a multi-shuriken attack, powering up shurikens to deflect projectiles, the fact that enemies can do more than just walk from left to right, much more interesting boss fights, multi-layered paths in stages, etc. I'm fairly sure that mid-boss used scaling effects, but I'm too lazy to go and double check that. X2 and 3 used a chip which rendered wireframe models, which was used just once or twice throughout the entire games and had a larger impact in that it just needlessly added to the cartridge costs.

What 3D RPG music do you think is the best?
lazygecko replied to Azure Prower's topic in General Discussion
You're still getting flooded with old ones. Mid-to-late 90's RPGs without (Sometimes even with) redbook music sounds primitive by today's standards. -
What 3D RPG music do you think is the best?
lazygecko replied to Azure Prower's topic in General Discussion
Music has nothing to do with wether a game is 3D or not. Many 3D games used sequenced music in the same way as early titles, for example FFX and even Twilight Princess, just as many 2D titles use recorded music. -
Mode7 was a badly used gimmick. In racing games, there was no sense of speed and, perception was ruined and it was next to impossible to make out curves from a fair distance. One of the worst offenders is Contra 3 where they threw in those downright frustrating and completely unneccessary top-down levels. All it was good for was some fancy alternatives to scrolling backgrounds. Ninja Gaiden was a generic platform concept with some of the most basic enemy patterns out there. Bosses weren't much more interesting either. It was like a run n' gun without the elements that actually makes that genre fun. The game was years behind Revenge of Shinobi, released in the same year. Shadow of the Ninja/Blue Shadow, another NES game with a similiar theme released in the same period had tenfolds better execution.

Mode7 was terrible and should remain buried forever.

Return to Castle Wolfenstein -
http://www.traxinspace.com/ TIS used to be a major center for the tracker scene which I have very fond memories of. I'm guessing the new incarnaion won't be module-oriented.

I've been working on a bunch of other tracks since I posted Nod Strike in the other forum. It's about 50% remixes and 50% original material right now, and I want to keep it at roughly the same percentage for the finished soundtrack. I'm taking some liberties with Nod (and later Scrin), while keeping the trademark Klepacki style for GDI. GDI: http://www.zshare.net/audio/stomp2-mp3.html - Remix of Stomp. Not too different from the original right now, the idea is to keep it entirely slow instead of the D&B influences present in the original. http://www.zshare.net/audio/funky-mp3-358.html - All new, Red Alert 2-inspired funk. Nod: http://www.zshare.net/audio/nod-strike2-mp3-pb7.html - Just some minor differences from the last version. I just need to top it off with an additional melody during the breakdown. http://www.zshare.net/audio/warfare-mp3-p2g.html - Start of a Warfare remix. Not much else to say here. If anyone is capable of doing something with roughly the same direction feel free to make your own contributions.
