  1. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ouoPYVelZA I like the music.
  2. http://kotaku.com/gaming/keiji-inafune/gdc07-capcoms-inafune-slams-clover-producer-242796.php So his reasoning is if something is made for the purpose of being sold as a product, it can't be considered a form of art. Now I know a lot of you are going to reach out and name titles like Ico and whatnot, but I think a lot of people here share this mentality. The thing that gets me is how so many think "lowly" forms of entertainment like popcorn flicks or generic action games are dismissed, and the definition is reserved for anything with intellectual depth or whatever, even in the gaming community. Even if something was made just to generate lots of profit, there was still a creative process, aesthetic choices, etc involved.

  4. Complication of controls does not equal fun games. Usually it just makes them confusing and less accessible.
  5. Bloody hell, the Lunar Festival was supposed to end after the 8th. Instead they decide to end it 2 days early while applying the new patch. So much for planning that Omen raid.
  6. Are you sure you don't mean stereo separators? Stereo expanders should just increase the "distance" between the left and right tracks.
  7. He made the notorious Cannon Fodder title track?
  8. Simply replacingthe music shouldn't be a problem, like other games you just need to know the directory structure (In the .big data files, in this case). The problem here is that the music is dynamic and split up.
  9. Tried (re)installing the latest DirectX? There will be an alternate mouse setup in the first patch due to fan demand.
  10. An easter egg has been found. In the skirmish menu, open the faction bar, highlight Nod, hold down N and click. Voila, you can now play as Nod. The same works procedure works if you want to play against GDI, just hold down G.
  11. Download the tool at www.ea.com/ealink to get the demo. It's small and won't mess around with your computer. There are no queues and the speed is very fast, I got it in less than 2 hours and it's a 1.2gb file.
  12. It would appear that nobody gives a damna bout any gaming-related news I post anymore, yet feel more inclined to discuss a FFVII remake for the bazillionth time. My predictions about this place degenerating into a mindless Nintendo/Square-based forum after the Unmod purge were true. There is nothing left for me here.
  13. It is significant because what we have here is a high-profile governing politician openly supporting and participating in a game, rather than condemning it like everyone else to score political points.
  14. I don't have any english source for this. Current Swedish foreign minister, and former prime minister, Carl Bildt is to partake in the opening of an official embassy in the MMORPG Second Life. In an age where government officials are hellbent on attacking the medium, I think this is pretty significant news.
  15. I found a Sapphire Radeon X1950 Pro 512MB DDR3. The price is OK in my book.
  16. I forgot it has to be AGP. Not ready to switch motherboard just yet.
  17. I'm using a GeForce 6600GT currently. I'm looking for a noticable step up in performance for a reasonable price. I don't need to run the latest games with 1600x1200 8xAA.
  18. I am already so tired of seeing those fucking blood elf girls running around. They look so frail you'd think you could tear their limbs off with little to no effort. That's just not healthy. What kind of message is Blizzard trying to send here?
  19. http://www.cisnfm.com/station/blog_mike_mcguire.cfm?bid=7500&med=30179 Blogs are usually not dependable sources, but this is Dan Akroyd himself talking here.
  20. http://www.sega.com/gamesite/universeatwar/ Now, you'd think this doesn't seem like anything too special, but consider that it's being made by Petroglyph whom mostly consist of ex-Westwood employees of Command & Conquer fame. Frank Klepacki is also making a score that's very faithful to the old C&C titles. This is part of Sega's efforts to strengthen themselves in the western PC market. A good move if you ask me.
  21. Everything is better when you're first exposed to it. It's the same with everyone babbling about the golden age of now-defunct UnMod, which was always traced to the time when said user joined the forums.
  22. I'm going to try dual-wielding with my shaman. The quartermaster in Hellfire Peninsula sells a very nice blue axe with 1.60 attack speed, and it's One-Hand so I can get two of them. The Orc +5 axe racial will also help. From what I've heard you can put Windfury on both weapon, and Shamanistic Rage will proc much more often giving you a lot of mana.
  23. 8 million was the last milestone. 3.5 of them being chinese.
