  1. Yeah. Unfortunately it will also be sandwiched between buttrock. But at least there's an online stream.
  2. http://wbke.manchester.edu/index.php ... college radio... and my girlfriend is on the senior staff... but still. Be the first to hear it (unless you heard it on the WIP forums...) /attentionwhore
  3. They should. The final product is nothing but the sum of its parts. Think of it like a movie. It might have its good parts and its slow parts, but overall it's enjoyable, right? That's how I feel about music. I love (old) In Flames guitar work but have never cared for "RARRRG" vocals, but the guitar melodies are SO good that I can easily disregard that and find them to be good (if not GREAT) songs.
  4. Marty Friedman deserves mention, if not only for his work on Rust in Peace.
  5. Are you only know discovering Vai? Your posts get stupider and stupider.
  6. A good read, but a little bit on the fluffy side. All in all, I'm going to have to say NO (resub)
  7. I really don't want to get into this debate but no, it's a terrible game and I can't believe I bought it. Story is just a stinker in this one.
  8. I did a few nights ago and now I checked my Paypal only to find that a copy of Final Fantasy 8 is headed my way. Apparently it cost me $10. Good god, I'm going to have to get WASTED when this game gets here just to play it.
  9. I recorded the vocal melody that I need just to give potential people an idea of what they're in for. www.metalfrog.org/music/CrocHighRange.mp3 It's a harmonizing vocal melody meant to evoke a melancholy defeat.
  10. Project update: The tune is almost completely doing being recorded from a musical aspect. I'd put it at 90% complete, as there are still some parts I want to go back to and fix (such as at 1:49 where it's just the open triplets over and over). Also, some of the panning is off at the end of the song, and there is a bit of clipping in the Bramble part. Other than those issues, and one riff I'm still trying to work into it, it's mostly done. But I've decided that I want clean vocals over the Bramble part, a layered harmonized part that echoes failure and remorse. I haven't written the lyrics yet, but I will in the next day or so. So I need a male voice that can reach relatively high registers (we're not talking high pitched nasally stuff though). As an example, Periphery's "Juggernaut Inertia": http://www.myspace.com/periphery The clean part at the beginning is the type of thing I'm going for in it. Here's the tune in its (almost) completed form: http://www.metalfrog.org/music/Crocodile_CacophanyNoVox.mp3
  11. I can seed; I am on a college connection that is ABSURDLY fast. The only problem is, they filter the download of .torrent files (but they don't filter torrent traffic). So if someone wants to send me the actual .torrent files via AIM or something, that'd be awesome.
  12. How old were you when you played that? I've had more fun with modern games than any game I ever played during my childhood, with the notable exceptions of Super Metroid and Earthbound. Half Life 2, Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines (once properly patched), Paper Mario 2, and countless others have given me far more enjoyment than any game from my childhood. How do I know that? Because I don't rely on that "feeling" I felt when I first played them oh so long ago; I revisit them every so often and find myself not nearly as enthralled by them as I once was, simply because I had childhood blinders on back then.
  13. I am Jon Schaffer, Devin Townsend, and Jesper all rolled into fucking one, biatch.
  14. Happy birthday, but I'm more metal than you.
  15. Haven't read the thread, but one thing instantly jumped out at me regarding this video. This douchebag is a giant fucking hypocrite. His entire rant was aimed at returning gaming to a previous point in time, when he insults designers who have done that very same thing ("A chain? Is this 1992?"). Didn't he WANT to go back to 1992? Just another oversensitive, hyped up Nintendrone with too much time on his hands. That said, I agree with him on the generation thing -- the Wii IS part of this generation. It's not its own market.
