  1. But only for handheld, since Microsoft haven't entered that market yet. The only games they've actually produced which have Nintendo based characters were all ports.
  2. Nah, it's originally a N64 game. There was an attempt to bring a Diddy Kong Pilot to the GBA, but it got changed to Banjo Pilot and sucked.Reportedly, this port will have custom tracks. If so, I might actually buy it again. Yeah, I kept on thinking to myself "if I ever owned an N64, I want it with Diddy Kong Racing". It's good to see it move to the DS, but I'm a little confused on how it's out there. Given that the original was made by Rare, what would you think will be of the use of Banjo, Conker and Tricky considering Rare's owned by Microsoft these days? Just curious, is all. While it hasn't been confirmed that anyone's been taken out, screenshots show Tiny Kong in a car similar to that of Conker. I expect Kiddy/Chunky Kong to replace Banjo.

Pokemon looks way too much like it's exactly the same game with a new lick of paint.
  4. Oh man, I'd kill for a Kong in Concert 2. Sign me up when that one comes around. Protricity pretty much had Kong in Concert 2 sorted out on his own, and there's a few DKC2 mixes he's done that aren't on the site. Don't think he's done anything new on the DKC front since Krool Intentions.Something I noticed the other day, there hasn't been a Donkey Kong Country remix on OCR for over a year. Perhaps even more shocking, there hasn't been a non-KiC DKC OCR for almost a year and a half. I'd organise KiC2 myself if I had the integrity.
  5. Haha, that's totally going in the VGDJ Action Shot Album! It's not real Well, duh... Admit it, you thought it was real!

  7. as irrelevant as a post pointing out how irrelevant it is? or a post pointing out how irrelevant a post that points out how irrelevant another post is? i think i just confused myself. also, DRM ftl. [/irrelevant] Well, it wasn't you who brought up DRM in the first place. But still, why on earth would DRM be an issue? This is becoming what it shouldn't be - a format wars thread.
  8. Erm, what the hell does DRM have to do with anything? Completely irrelevant to the topic at hand.
  9. There are lossless formats that compress better than FLAC, but compatability is minimal, and the general rule is the more you compress the more processing it takes to decompress. FLAC is reasonable in this aspect. Ogg is better than mp3 per kbps, but it's nowhere near as good as that. Plus there's the whole issue of compatability, which is more serious with a lossy format.EDIT: How feasible is converting on request? As in, you have the FLAC on the site, and people can request to download either the FLAC, or a specific file format/bitrate file converted on the fly?
  10. I suppose I hadn't joined the forum by the time whenever you were talking about this, since I don't remember you having done so before. I'm sorry if you think I was rude in my last post, because I can see the potential of a site with higher resolution mixes. I just think that using FLAC is going overboard. Arguably, going over 192kbps mp3 is going overboard. It's a preference thing.
  11. To be honest, I'd be surprised if you were to get more than a quarter of pre OCR01250 remixes as source files. Still, getting remixes submitted from now on would be worth it in my eyes. Still, I can't help but feel that for something like this to work, it needs to be lossless or nothing. That's my opinion though.
  12. Cool. Given that, unless more people want to discuss FLAC vs. 320kbps, I've made my decision (320kbps all the way, until maybe like 2050 when everything's uber ultimate and I'll be dead) while getting a little bit of info, so I won't mind if the thread is locked. Or, it will probably die out on its own. And no, you are not having deja vu. I posted something similar to this in general discussion. Not a good idea, for me anyway. Though, I think I had a little less clarity when I did that. To be honest, given the purpose that I and those who would actually use such a site, 320kbps isn't desirable. Only advantage that 320kbps offers over FLAC is a smaller file size (by about half I would imagine), and I wouldn't dream of transcoding a lossy file, no matter how high quality it is.
  13. Surely you mean always? Actually I meant lossy A site like this might be useful, not necessarily for downloading lossless files to play, but for downloading lossless files to convert into something that's more suitable than the default format (most likely for those files that are 6 minutes plus in length which tend to be encoded in 128kbps less).
  14. The point of FLAC is to be completely indistinguishable from a source wave file, while decreasing the storage space required. This comes at a cost of processing power required to decode the format though. It's also open source, if you're into that sort of thing. Any mp3 encoded file will not strictly be as good as a FLAC encoded file. There are people who will be able to distinguish between a 320kbps mp3 file and a lossless file. However, those people are few and far between, and even then they'd likely need decent equipment to detect differences. Ultimately, it depends on what you want the file for. During production, I would never recommend saving in a lossless format, and 320kbps is no exception. If you're releasing a file on the other hand, I'd be very surprised if 320kbps wasn't sufficient for anyone.
  15. Remember this time last year, when the Daily Express disapproved of Caramella? Well, they're back, and they had a very interesting lead story yesterday!
  16. Yeah, I missed the last show too Good luck with future endeavours, and if I hear you making shows in any form in the future (eg. podcast), I'll be sure to listen.
  17. Hmm, I'll certainly be able to put myself into the pot of people willing to fill in. Lord knows I've got the time.
  18. Well, I'm travelling home again, for what seems to be the final opus in the show that is VG Frequency. Sure, it may not be a 20 minute phonecall or anything like that if I had had the opportunity to phone in last Saturday/Sunday, but if nothing else I'd like a quick talk about the things I've already mentioned, as well as a congratulatory farewell And seriously, how can Nineko be a part of show history and not me! (no offense there, my Italian chum )
  19. But #84.99 will likely not be available for call-ins.
  20. I'll buy you some candy to make up for it. Feel free to try and get in before I start playing CS stuff, but that's about it. Not to be a douche, but I figure everyone's had a lot of opportunities to call during past shows since #61. I'm about ready to wrap the show up my way, and that way is with rather minimal talkies. I can understand the whole keeping the last few dedicated shows (project shows and otherwise). I was gonna call in more for PTSC and SotW, as well as something secret that may be in the works, than for you (though obviously speaking to you is a bonus). But I'll try my hardest to call in before the CS stuff starts.Anyway, I'll see about talking to you about the show format and scheduling an exact time for calling in.
  21. Still no response? Not to really want to take a hostile or suckup approach or anything, but I've not been in the best of moods this week, and you haven't helped with all these cancellations and what seems like you ignoring me.
  22. Yep, Blowji sucks clocks. I quote myself from earlier.
  23. When you say 2AM Monday night, are you talking 7AM GST Monday or Tuesday morning? If it's the former, I'll be able to phone in. Latter, and I won't be calling in for the entirity of VGF, unless you want to make an exception for the CS show.
  24. Well, bearing in mind I came home for the weekend, mostly for the purpose of calling in I can understand cancellations for technical reasons, but surely you knew about Saturday Night Main Event before just now. As it stands, I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to phone in tomorrow. But I'll see what I can pull.
