  1. and with that, i'm ending this discussion. like larry said, let's stick to reviews. if there is a continued interest in this discussion, i implore you guys to make a thread in PPR and discuss this further. Many people have opinions on language and what's offensive and what isn't (myself included) and if this song can spark further discussion, i'd be glad to participate in it - in the proper context. please keep this thread for reviews from now on. if need be, i'll talk to dave about editing a link to a "language discussion" thread in the writeup. thanks guys!
  2. Yes. When I played WoW, the soundtrack always reminded me of Basil Poledouris's excellent score to the Conan series. The pounding heavy percussion, huge brass sections, etc...always conjured up images of Conan and his world. I think GrayLighting could pull off an excellent mix in a Basil Poledouris style, but that's just wishful thinking (cough)
  3. I'm not well versed in audio engineering at all, so i have no idea why this happens. I do know that when i run the song through CoolEdit, it comes up with 0% clipping...soo, yeah.....
  4. Ah, i see now. When I listen on headphones, with my volume jacked, there is audible clipping, but its when my volume is maxed out.
  5. i dont have fl in front of me atm, so i'm just going from memory. there is an option to change the amount of beats in each pattern. pick the pattern and then click up at the top left of the piano roll window. there's an option (really sorry that i'm so vague) to extend the individual pattern in or out as many beats as you need. you'll have to deal with a bit of a messier playlist, but for time changes, it's not too bad. nope. 6/8 is like 3/4 with the emphasis on the eighth note instead of the quarter note.
  6. well i got some decent work done on a wip, just not sure if it's as dark as i want it to sound. we'll see.
  7. so, like, a hip hop mix or a dj mix (like said seith mix) would/would not be in violation of OCR guidelines by todays standards? lets say for example, i do a complete overhaul of an original - total genre change - and sampled the original, chopped, cut up, mixed and tweaked, hip hop style in a complete rearrangement of the original theme; would it be in violation of the standards?
  8. i greatly dislike both wasp and fl's dx vst, so i'm with you on that one.
  9. how do i stop all the presets and shit from constantly opening up in the browser window whenever i use an instrument/plugin...it's quite annoying.
  10. djblizihake you've created something magical. i love it. great work, and at such a young age too. can't wait to collab in the future ps: reallly sorry about the mirror, claado. i've been away from my computer on vacation and i havent been able to access my ftp from this pc. as soon as i get back, i promiiiseee a mirror
  11. this is hot stuff. amazing. can't wait to see it mislabeled on Kazaa as something by one of the more mainstream trance artists.
  12. I don't celebrate christmas...soo...nothing, really. But i might treat myself to something or other sometime soon. Maybe a EMU0404
  13. nice work. i've been privy to this track since it was just a short work in progress and it still sounded slick, even back then. great drum writing, instrumentation. love the vanilla synth that comes in after prophet drops out. mmm, creamy. Caio's stuff is always a treat to listen to. Add to the fact that Brad's sax is hotstuff. so, let's make an equation. red tailed fox + prophet = crazy delicious.
  14. nice shit, binster. this is dirty and phat. i like it. sexual melody? sash, will you marry me? STATUE OF LIBERY???
  15. soo....someone hit me up with that mirror info, again?
  16. in the next few days, we'll have surpassed 10,500 downloads on the torrent. nice work, guys. that rounds out to about 80 completed downloads a day. BOOM.
  17. Great stuff. A few months back i would have (slighty) bitched about the panned bass, but I've been listening to a lot of newer jazz stuff recently that also utilizes bass panning - and to be completely honest, it didnt bother me a bit. I can hear the Flecktones in this piece too. I always love Shna's stuff because it's so interesting to listen too.
