  1. If you don't want to splash out the money for amplitube or guitar rig, try Guitar Suite (www.simulanalog.org). That's what I use on most of my stuff nowadays, and it sounds pretty good.
  2. I think we have a winner. one244, two things. First, before we can make a reccomendation, we need to know how much money you're ready to throw around, what sort of music you want to do, and what (if any) external gear you have available. Second, there are several stickies in this section of the forum which answer your question already.
  3. hmm... these bagpipes are not my fault, I would have had better ones, so don't blame me here (as seen later in this thread) So you put the blame for that on your co-remixer? Lol? Are you going to stand this idly by without a single comment, Geoff? Usa's right; the bagpipe is my doing.
  4. Hehe, I had the same problem. And no, I don't understand patchmix DSP, but the way I fixed it was merely by loading a different setting; Click on the "new session" button at the top of patchmix. It's on the right-ish, right above "effect". Select a session which allows recording, such as "stereo product default." Hit ok, and you should be set.
  5. OMG SEXYTRICKS VOCALS! erm... Sexy Pixietricks vocals. This track is absolutely beautiful.
  6. This mix is definitely one of my all-time favorites. It's absolutely beautiful.
  7. Arek and whoever else may step in to on my defense: thanks, but don't worry about it. If he doesn't like the song, he doesn't like the song; you're never going to convince him otherwise. I'd rather see actual reviews than a continued debate over one particular comment.
  8. Boy, you'd almost think Arek was the one who did the mix ;p EDIT: Damn, what a waste of a 1500th post
  9. EDIT: (I won't be surprised if anybody doesn't recognize it; the source tune was about 10 seconds long.)
  10. Actually, Dave didn't mention the source in the writeup, and the "songs remixed" thing is blank.
  11. Seems like most of the attention is tis review thread has been directed at me, so before my ego gets inflated too much, I'd like to point out that this piece wouldn't have been nearly as good without Usa's help. damn straight show some Usa love f00's And rexy, don't worry. I have a feeling that this song will not kill any "zomg"s that I will be getting when my project is done. And hold up....pretzel heard this at the DC meetup....did I even ASK you *as in Geoffrey* to join the project around that time? I thought I asked you a little afterwards....Pretzel must either be smokin or thinkin of another song Nope, he's right; I showed it to him at the DC meetup. You asked me to join awhile before that.
  12. Seems like most of the attention in this review thread has been directed at me, so before my ego gets inflated too much, I'd like to point out that this piece wouldn't have been nearly as good without Usa's help.
  13. Geoffrey Taucer was my character's name in the NC Rennaissance Faire. It was a pun on Geoffrey Chaucer, and we changed it to "Tosser" because I juggle. I liked the name, so now it's the name I use on teh intarweb.
  14. Really? Man, I think this one blows the rest of my stuff out of the water. *shrug* The irish whistle and all five guitars were recorded live. I don't know about the piano. Everything else was sequenced. *salutes* will do, sir!
  15. Awwwwwww... how sweet! Thanks, Jill. It's great having you as a friend, too. :D:D:D
  16. HAHAHAHA! The teaser has been posted!
  17. BTW, thanks Arek, for getting me to mix this song; I wouldn't have if you hadn't asked me to do it for your project. Also, Dave: I just might have to go to that celtic festival this year. Perhaps a meetup is in order?
  18. System requirements? Generally speaking, it is possible to mix on pretty much any computer, though faster processors and more RAM are things you should definitely look for. Are you looking for specifics? Because that will depends entirely on what software you're using.
  19. Actually, I'm pretty sure Brad used an alto for that. He used a soprano in "A Star Freezes Over," though (except for the chorus, for which he used an alto)
  20. Perhaps he was merely pointing out that there is (almost) no such thing as a professional remixer?
  21. Holy shit! This is cool. I never would have thought of doing something like this with that theme. This is absolutely beautiful.
