  1. Seems like most of the attention in this review thread has been directed at me, so before my ego gets inflated too much, I'd like to point out that this piece wouldn't have been nearly as good without Usa's help.
  2. Geoffrey Taucer was my character's name in the NC Rennaissance Faire. It was a pun on Geoffrey Chaucer, and we changed it to "Tosser" because I juggle. I liked the name, so now it's the name I use on teh intarweb.
  3. Really? Man, I think this one blows the rest of my stuff out of the water. *shrug* The irish whistle and all five guitars were recorded live. I don't know about the piano. Everything else was sequenced. *salutes* will do, sir!
  4. BTW, thanks Arek, for getting me to mix this song; I wouldn't have if you hadn't asked me to do it for your project. Also, Dave: I just might have to go to that celtic festival this year. Perhaps a meetup is in order?
  5. System requirements? Generally speaking, it is possible to mix on pretty much any computer, though faster processors and more RAM are things you should definitely look for. Are you looking for specifics? Because that will depends entirely on what software you're using.
  6. Actually, I'm pretty sure Brad used an alto for that. He used a soprano in "A Star Freezes Over," though (except for the chorus, for which he used an alto)
  7. Perhaps he was merely pointing out that there is (almost) no such thing as a professional remixer?
  8. Holy shit! This is cool. I never would have thought of doing something like this with that theme. This is absolutely beautiful.
  9. Um... did you read the first post? This project is happenning right now.
  10. This one is absolutely epic. Very nicely done, very beautiful. This is how the song was meant to sound. EXCEPT: the chorus in this mix sounds like it's a measure short, and it's really really annoying.
  11. Wow. This is spectacular, even by zircon's unusually high standards. 2:36 = pwnage.
  12. This project has so far been drama-less. I'll have to fix that. WTF? I'm one of the "many more"? I don't get mentioned? In fact, all of my band is in the "many more" category? I am offended. Fuck you and fuck your project. In case anybody didn't pick up on it, I'm joking. I am thrilled to be on this project, and I think it's gonna kick some serious ass.
  13. Um... I haven't, technically speaking, made any progress at all on this. But I WILL!
  14. I believe most low-end soundcards don't have stereo input, so that may be a problem.
  15. Anyway, this is a really nice piece. Production is top notch, and the arrangement is quite simply sexy.
  16. Guys, it really would be nice to know what you have in the way of recording gear. As much as it sucks, awesome playing skill isn't useable if you can't get an adequate recording.
  17. My track is finished and submitted early as a teaser (as per Arek's instructions). Usa: sorry I couldn't run it by you first, but Arek really wanted me to get it in, and to be honest, so did I. I ran the final version by Zircon before sending it in, and he said it was good. Arek and KWarp: I'll send you the track in whatever format/bitrate you like next time I catch you on AIM.
  18. OMGGENDISCTHREAD! I guess I should start actually working on those tracks now
