  1. What ever happenned to the beginners guide to hardware/software? It seems to have dissappeared.
  2. Then you've missed out on some greats.
  3. I'd sorta prefer it to be like SSBM: some orchestral, some electronic, some straight up rock. Melee had some pretty fucking sweet guitars, and I'd love to hear more of that.
  4. Is there some way we can put an announcement somewhere that everybody will see that says "Yes, we know Uematsu wrote the main theme"? I mean, I think like six people have posted it so far.
  5. Holy fucking shit, I was HOWLING with laughter when I saw this.
  6. Sweet song, gorgeous tone on all the guitars, and it has a wah-wah. What more could you possibly ask for?
  7. I'm really tempted to get the Rare Ethnic Instruments collection...
  8. The judges DID accept SFO. DJP vetoed the YES decision by the judges, not due to arrangement quality, but due to the fact that it incorporated a non-vg sourcetune. While I do agree the the production is not what it could be on this piece, I think it more than makes up for it with innovation, and with some truly hot sax.
  9. God damn this is awesome. It kicked ass the first time I listened to it, and only gets better with every listen.
  10. Fixed. The lead, though very obviously fake, is listenable. The chord chugging, though, is like fingernails on a blackboard, except not quite so pleasing to the ear. Which is a damn shame, because this is otherwise an awesome mix.
  11. Dude that one orchestral mix could have been SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better with a real orchestra. There's a difference; it's pretty easy to come by a guitarist around here.
  12. I don't know if standalone programs exist. Why not get a standalone VST host and use plugins?
  13. I pretty much agree with the judges on this one: it's listenable, even enjoyable, but could have been SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better with real guitars.
  14. I started doing midis when I was 14. My first mix I did that I'm happy with (A Star Freezes Over) was at 17 (I'm 18 now)
  15. Not a WIP, but a finished mix has been posted on OCR as a teaser.
  16. Flower stage needs to absolutely own, or I will come and attack the remixer with a spatula. Or maybe I'll just sit in the corner and cry.
  17. It's not so much about immediate audible differences as the fact that when mixing, etc, it's a good idea to mix with lossless formats. You may not be able to tell the difference between a lossless version and a 320k mp3, but if you reincode that mp3 at 320k several times in the process of mixing and then compare it to the original, those differences are greatly magnified.
  18. I don't think so, at least not anytime soon. I'd still like to finish it, but it's sort of on the backburner.
