  1. OMG, how can poll win? Everybody knows that poll2 is the correct answer.
  2. EVERYBODY REQUEST MORE EARTHBOUND CHARACTERS
  3. The old topic on this died, so I thought I'd start a new one. Hopefully, the mods will sticky it again. In addition to the WIP section of the boards, we also have an IRC channel (#ocrwip) on irc.enterthegame.com specifically for feedback on WIPs. It's a good place to get feedback, and tends to be more personal than the boards since it's in real time. I'm almost always in there, and if I'm in front of my computer, odds are I'll be happy to review your WIP. If you don't currently have a WIP to post, join the channel anyway. It's a good place to get a peek at what's on its way to the judges panel.
  4. No, but I mean, we used to have a sticky specifically titled "What hardware/software should I start out with," and it no longer exists.
  5. What ever happenned to the beginners guide to hardware/software? It seems to have dissappeared.
  6. Then you've missed out on some greats.
  7. I'd sorta prefer it to be like SSBM: some orchestral, some electronic, some straight up rock. Melee had some pretty fucking sweet guitars, and I'd love to hear more of that.
  8. Is there some way we can put an announcement somewhere that everybody will see that says "Yes, we know Uematsu wrote the main theme"? I mean, I think like six people have posted it so far.
  9. Holy fucking shit, I was HOWLING with laughter when I saw this.
  10. Sweet song, gorgeous tone on all the guitars, and it has a wah-wah. What more could you possibly ask for?
  11. I'm really tempted to get the Rare Ethnic Instruments collection...
  12. The judges DID accept SFO. DJP vetoed the YES decision by the judges, not due to arrangement quality, but due to the fact that it incorporated a non-vg sourcetune. While I do agree the the production is not what it could be on this piece, I think it more than makes up for it with innovation, and with some truly hot sax.
  13. God damn this is awesome. It kicked ass the first time I listened to it, and only gets better with every listen.
  14. Fixed. The lead, though very obviously fake, is listenable. The chord chugging, though, is like fingernails on a blackboard, except not quite so pleasing to the ear. Which is a damn shame, because this is otherwise an awesome mix.
  15. Dude that one orchestral mix could have been SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better with a real orchestra. There's a difference; it's pretty easy to come by a guitarist around here.
  16. I don't know if standalone programs exist. Why not get a standalone VST host and use plugins?
  17. I pretty much agree with the judges on this one: it's listenable, even enjoyable, but could have been SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better with real guitars.
  18. I started doing midis when I was 14. My first mix I did that I'm happy with (A Star Freezes Over) was at 17 (I'm 18 now)
