Probably real. Imagine someone trying to build an engine and make a fake Smash game, or interject them into a game that they would have to hack just to do so, which would mean they would have to have a dev kit for 3DS and the source code for the game. The only other way to put up such a convincing hoax would to be god-like photoshop and visual editing skills. This is legit. Then again, Sakurai is a very sensitive developer and he has intentionally removed material from games after having seen the information leaked. This isn't good. But it's nice to see some new faces, despite the spoilage. Anyway, if this is the full roster, then count me thoroughly satisfied, though there are still some open spaces that could be filled if one judges by the screen size alone and placement of squares, assuming the trend from previous Smash games applies as far as how characters come into place on the character select screen. Still not sure why Chrom's awesome-as-shit self was left out, but hey I'm excited.

Happy belated birthday Blind. You have been one of my top 5 artists on OCR ever since I heard your early mixes. I bought NESteryears not too far back and just love it, and also your killer mixes with the Final Fantasy series. A lot of remixes almost completely abandon the source material but yours take the best parts of the source and just improves it. Example, "Bridge To Eternity" and all of NESteryears. While I'm here trolling your thread I must ask is there a sequel album possibly in the works?

I think you're mostly right. They're giving us free DLC, and I think for the most part that it's pretty cool... but I would rather have a Ford Mustang....and a Honda Prelude. Hell, I think Nintendo has some aces up their sleeve.
-
I'm looking forward to the update though I am on the fence about the DLC. It is free, so I won't complain too much. I just hope Nintendo doesn't start selling out too much. They're one of the last "pure" gaming companies in my book, but I suppose evolution is necessary to survive in today's market, and for hell, it's free. Anyway, I hope 8 gets something alike the altered tracks and tournaments that MK Wii had. I think MK8 has some serious legs and that this update is probably just the tip of the iceberg if you catch my drift.

OverClocked ReMix Design ?'s and Issues
Devyn replied to Liontamer's topic in Site Issues & Feedback
Hi mods and site operators: I don't know what changes were made to the site recently, maybe a style sheet or something but the site does not display properly while using firefox. Please keep in mind that I am not trying to be a douche and may be the last person on the planet still using said browser. I just wanted to make it aware. Thanks for maintaining the most awesome site on the planet. Peace. Edit: Tried on two different computers. Issue still occurs. Again it may be a non-issue as viewing the site in other browsers is no problem. -
FE: Radiant Dawn could've been marketed better. It's an amazing game. The series shouldn't go to waste. All of the appearances in the upcoming Smash games makes me think about what Nintendo has in store. The FEXShinMegamiTensei is coming along well, they say: http://www.idigitaltimes.com/articles/23828/20140714/shin-megami-tensei-x-fire-emblem-release.htm

I don't understand how characters like Pink Gold Peach and Lakitu made it in, but there's no Diddy Kong or King Boo. Don't get me wrong, MK8 is awesome....I'm just wondering who is calling the shots on the roster. Then again, maybe one can chalk it up to DLC. I would not be the least bit surprised that more baby characters, even baby Yoshi were announced soon. And more cars and tracks, starting with this one: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/135581-Mario-Kart-8s-Mercedes-Benz-DLC-Coming-to-The-US

^ Watch out for this guy at Kart. He doesn't mess around.

Wii U's time to strike is now. Media and gamers were hating on the console so much before, but now that the O.S., game library, and online experience have been improved, the console is starting to look like an attractive alternative to the other two consoles (let's not count out the fact that Nintendo is also developing games to make use of the gamepad's differentiating functions). Nintendo needs to continue to evolve and enhance their online experience. They have the games coming in now, and they will probably get the attention of more 3rd parties if sales continue to rise and the user base increases. They also need to market their games like Mario Kart 8. And this isn't just for Nintendo, but for other companies as well: Quit waiting for user bases and demographic information to decide whether or not to release a game. ****ing market the game. Want Metroid or Fire Emblem to sell on the Wii U? Make the game good and actually tell people about it. And not just a Nintendo Direct to existing hardcore Nintendo fans like myself. Tell everybody about it. Do commercials like you did for Mario Kart 8. Tell people about Metroid, and how it is about a brave, intelligent, attractive woman in a alien suit on a distant planet fighting space lizards. People will buy that shit. It's just that save a few million of us, nobody knows how awesome it is. And bring back cartoons and movies, even if they are bad. Put your characters back in the public consciousness. And make toys....oh wait. Good move Nintendo. Anyway, things are looking up in my opinion.

Also, Star Fox, Splatoon, a collab exclusive with Itagaki, a new Fatal Frame, Kirby and frigging Star Fox....especially that one. I'm still waiting for info on the SMT X Fire Emblem though, but yeah Nintendo friggin' brought it this E3. There might still be a few more big announcements. I'm really excited.

Sounds awesome. I'll check it out.

Favorite track is probably Wario Mountain as it has no real laps and just looks amazing. Music? I'd have to go with the Cloudtop track as it steals its chorus from Gusty Garden Galaxy and that is just bad ass. I'm satisfied with the selection of tracks but will not hesitate to download more tracks and characters if offered as DLC. How about a Boo pack with King Boo as a playable character, with both a Boo mansion course and a Luigi's mansion course? 5 bucks. Make it happen Nintendo.
-
MK8 is indeed amazing. It's even better than 7 and it blows MK Wii out of the water. And holy crap the track design is awesome. I played Wario Mountain and I was like "Holy shit." I'm off work tomorrow and will probably spend the majority of the day playing this game.

Non-Sonic Sega games: what's your favorite?
Devyn replied to Flexstyle's topic in General Discussion
Fantasy Zone, Shining Force 1 and 2, Phantasy Star series, Streets of Rage 2 & 3, Shinobi 3, Ristar, Golden Axe 1-3. Vectorman was pretty awesome as well. I'm a sucker for Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine too. It's an excellent puzzle game, and I usually hate puzzle games. But really. Just forget all the crap and get Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection on PS3 or 360. It has every game I just mentioned and then some Edit: I was just thinking about really old Sega games. Monkey Ball is awesome. It's tons of fun, easy to get into, almost impossible to master, and may give you motion sickness. -
Yep. That's what I meant. Sorry for not being more clear there. Anyway, three days to MK8. I will probably get it this Sunday. We should all have a ocremix group tournament at some point.

Is it just me or has the female anatomy in Nintendo games been ramped up a bit?
-
Barring Midna, Ike is pretty much my favorite "new-ish" Nintendo character, and I'm very glad to see him come back. I wouldn't mind seeing a female character from the Fire Emblem series though. Caeda or maybe a laguz like Nailah. But Chrom is more likely and that's cool. Still, the roster looks awesome so far. I'm betting on at least one more 3rd party character to show up at this year's E3.

Nintendo has been taking quite a hit for a few years. What's scary is that Philips wants to completely halt all Wii U sales. That's extremely aggressive, and Philips is a large company. It's like everyone has it out for Nintendo lately. Being one who purchased the Wii U console and still supports it ardently, this kinda sucks. Mario Kart 8 and other titles being shown at E3 could be the beginning of the turn for the company and its latest home console, and it would suck hard for a wrench to be thrown into the wheel. Philips, the same company that released the CD-i and made those reallycrappy Mario and Zelda games they released. How bizarre. Over a piece of motion-plus tech. These corporations and their patent-pandering bullcrap. I swear.

DD is my favorite Mario Kart game as well. Nintendo went crazy with the co-op during the Gamecube era. Although I doubt the double-kart feature will appear in MK8, characters can bump off each over to accelerate while in anti-gravity mode and this makes me think that this will create an extra layer of strategy to the gameplay. So, I foresee a lot of players taking advantage of this and forming bands by this new feature, making nonchalant teams. If you haven't watched the latest Nintendo direct presentation, you probably don't know what I'm talking about. (http://www.nintendo.com/nintendo-direct/04-30-2014/#/video-ndirect) Oh, by the way, if any of you buy MK8, please register your copy. You get a free downloadable Wii U game for doing so. You can dl Super Mario Bros. U, Pikmin 3, LOZ Wind Waker Wii U, or Wii Party U. That's just for Americans. You PAL folks get to choose from 10 I think. Just want to make sure you folks are aware of that.

Yeah I'm not a fan of the babies. I remember playing Mario Kart Wii online and I always had a hard time not straying from my path to run them over. I know that's really bad, but to be fair I hated the piranha plant on Double Dash. I miss King Boo though. He was awesome.
-
So um....Who is ready for Mario Kart 8? I am. I'm crossing my fingers for custom groups for online play. I think an OCR MK8 team would be awesome. Anybody up for that?
-
In addition you can take the game over to your friend's house without taking the entire console. I suppose it would be fair to mention that having the game downloaded saves one from having to change discs but pick your poison. I wish I would've bought 3d world on disc but the e-shop got the best of me.
-
Definitely going to get a boxed copy of Mario Kart 8. I've already bought too many Wii U games digitally. Anyway, more important, I would love some voice chat in MK8. That would totally be awesome, but I wonder how Nintendo would handle it as they tend to keep Miiverse as family-friendly as possible.
-
Definitely a great game. It's sad that so many folks are missing out on it. Hopefully the Wii U will pick up sales after MK8 and Smash 4 so others will give 3d World a shot. Don't let the difficulty get you down. There are a ton of optional levels later on that get progressively more difficult and I doubt they will disappoint you in the challenge department.
