  1. Just get the Hard Men to do a three-way collaboration on Uranus.
  2. WE'RE WORKING ON IT The universe did not want us to submit this week.
  3. The Handsome Devils had several technical difficulties, but we're almost done. We'll definitely be submitting.
  4. Well, right now it's a lot of intro and then a little taste of meat. Whatever is created after this would draw from the ideas written in the intro, but we--uh, I mean the hypothetical teammates--would worry that the initial arranger would no longer technically be the "primary" one anymore.
  5. Let's say hypothetically that I have a friend in a competition that isn't this one but is exactly like this one in every way. This friend hypothetically has a little over a minute of buildup, but for various reasons, he can't finish the track himself. Would it be against the rules for his hypothetical teammates to complete the entry using the material created so far? Would that be the "meat" of said hypothetical remix? Hypothetically speaking of course
  6. If you can play guitar well and have a lot of free time RIGHT NOW, get in touch with me. You might have the wonderful opportunity to fix up some poorly-written guitar parts and play them. Lots of strumming.
  7. Most of my patterns are pretty simple (the brick paths are basically just lightly shaded rectangles), but I've got a gravestone and the black OCR shirt posted a couple pages back. I'm going to put together a small graveyard with dead trees and pitfalls. SO YEAH HAVE A GRAVESTONE On that note, I was visiting a dream town the other day: Actually, looking at this again, those path patterns are really cleverly designed. The corners of the basic pattern are all white triangles; depending on the placement, these triangles will either form a diamond together or connect two perpendicular edge pieces. Cool. Anyway, I'm always accidentally erasing parts of my paths, so it could get annoying for them not to be in my pockets all the time. I use three brick patterns to keep things interesting without needing edge pieces.
  8. I think what we've learned from this thread is that people judge you based on how you vote, so you shouldn't vote at all.
  9. Agent S is my favorite neighbor. I seriously need a bear though. The gods smiled on Pulpton yesterday. Must've been because of my kickass updated flag.
  10. so what ur telling me is u always do techno just like every1 else on OCRemix
  11. I do think source usage should be recognizable. My ideal entry for this type of competition is one that combines the two assigned sources in a way that is creative, cohesive, and clear, with reasonably strong production values. I'm more likely to vote for something if the source usage is obvious, but arranged in a light I hadn't considered before. You make a good point that more accessible arrangements will score more points with the voters; I think accessibility is compatible with arrangement creativity.
  12. *raises hand* There's a point where subpar production hinders my enjoyment of a piece of music, but the writing has always been more important to me. I don't feel engaged when I hear a track with kickass production values and boring or conventional writing. Anyway, to each their own, but I think it's reasonable for this competition in particular to value arrangement as much as it does. It's entirely based on combining multiple pieces of music, after all. A competition like the FL Studio Remix Gauntlet would probably have a different take on the arrangement/production balance just because of how it's structured.
  13. I'll let you know as soon as I find the Ship Bow Sticking Out of the Floor piece of furniture.
  14. I've done it a couple times in these competitions, including this round. I try not to use outside material unless there's such a strong similarity that the reference can be construed as an arrangement of one of the assigned sources. Basically, I manipulate a competition source into sounding like another source. And that is the story of how I beat PrototypeRaptor in the GRMRB.
  15. Two white t-shirts? Pah. I made one for more sophisticated players: And here I am modeling it in my seasonal Seasons-themed room-in-progress. If you don't want to go through the trouble of taking a picture of the computer, you should be able to get the pattern by visiting my dream town, too. I'm the only Pulpton. :3
  16. I loaded a Wave Man MIDI and a Pirate Island MIDI together and added reverb. Hope that's ok.
  17. It's crunch time! I will finish this! ...Maybe I can sneak a little Animal Cross-- OH SHIT, 6PM EDT
  18. He was just removing the offensive content. You used crude sideways drawings of butts in place of the letter 'b' Actually, I think his intention was to post ":D :D ," which would result in the whole post being automatically changed to lowercase (not my favorite feature of these boards).
  19. Yeah, we'll deal. I'm just grumpy about being overtly lied to. These competitions are long and time-consuming. I honestly would have considered quitting for real if teams weren't involved (well played, Darke). Anyway, no more being pissed. The piss is gone. I have no more piss. It is time to make waves out of my opponents' tears.
  20. I quit Edit: I mean I'm representing The Handsome Devils this week. But you're still going to get two Mega Man themes in there...sort of. c: Edit edit: To be honest, though, right now I do feel a bit of the old "well, there go several future hours of my time that I could've spent remixing music that I actually cared about." I probably would've been fine with it if it had been announced from the beginning, but I can't say I appreciate being manipulated into joining a different competition.
  21. Interesting... GRMRB2011: First pick, #3 favorite MM soundtrack WCRG2011: Second pick, #2 favorite MM soundtrack WCRG2013: Third pick, #1 favorite MM soundtrack Well, time to get my Wave Man on. Go team Rotund Water Robots And Also Tengu Man!
