  1. I'm not angry or anything, but a real release would be infinitely preferable to a .rar in a forum thread. Plenty of albums have been successfully released with less material than we have here. Maybe all we need to do is reevaluate the original project vision. If the project feels like a hollow shell of the initial plan, let's give it a good squeeze so it's more compact. It won't have the same shape, but it'll be just as solid.
  2. Lots of awesome games on the horizon, and now this: http://www.joystiq.com/2013/02/21/zelda-oracle-of-ages-oracle-of-seasons-to-hit-3ds-eshop-in-jap/ All hail the 3DS
  3. Yes. That's a toothache pun written next to the cake. Happy birthday! Make sure you floss regularly with zelda strings.
  4. Bumping because I'm having pretty much the same problem, and it's with the ultimate megadrive soundfont as well. Rather than the drums, parts of my pizzicato string channel are occasionally dropping out when I export, though it all plays fine before the render. I went so far as to copy the contents of the piano roll into a new project file, loading only the pizz string sample with no effects. It got cut in the same places. One of the sections that gets dropped is virtually the same as a section that makes it through. When trimmed so that the track starts right before one of the parts that usually get dropped, it comes through ok. Also, the exporting process takes way longer than it should. When it finishes, FL becomes unusable and shows a bunch of CPU spikes until I close the project file. Seems unlikely that a single sega genesis sample would be too intense for my computer.
  5. 1 Zelda game = healthy software library

  6. I don't have a Wii U quite yet. None of the launch titles screamed "buy me day one" at me. I'll definitely get one at some point, though.

  7. I saw a Miiverse message from you in someone else's playthrough of Mario U. Creepy.

  8. That's how I do...popping in every once in a while to create the most incredible Minecraft builds imaginable and then depriving you guys of my glory for months at a time

  9. Life of a Bowling Pin v3 Welp, it's been two years. The sound effect I needed for the ending wasn't actually available when I started this remix.
  10. You know what I haven't done in a while? Worked on this WIP. Oops. Life of a Bowling Pin v2 If I don't finish this by November 3, my friend's birthday present will be a video of you all whipping me.
  11. New deadlines: January 17, 2013 Complete WIP deadline - Arrangement finished, instruments recorded. March 17, 2013 (subject to change depending on success of previous deadline) Final deadline - All revisions done, WAV received.
  12. That's what I was thinking as well; I just hadn't gotten around to posting it. Insert usual comments about school and work distracting me :

  13. Still a few people who haven't made an update since the deadline was announced. I'll be sending them a reminder next week.

  14. Took some piano lessons when I was a kid. I was supposed to write a song for one of the recitals, but I just improvised something stupid because I didn't like reading music off a page. After a while, I convinced my parents to let me stop taking lessons. Started getting into video games around 2002, found OCR in 2003, started making MIDI remixes in 2004, downloaded the FL Studio demo in 2005, bought the real version in 2006, made some vague progress for a few years, got posted in 2010. Now life is over.
  15. Dj Mokram helped put together a preview! You can watch it on or Vimeo. is still open.
  16. The mixing of Explorer's Crypt and Castle of Despair was actually an accident that Flex decided to keep. He was hoping it could be used to knock out both sources at once, but I decided to leave the autumn version of Crypt open to keep each season at 6 tracks. Unfortunately for anyone who might have been interested, I have a raging boner for Explorer's Crypt and couldn't even last a week without giving in. Just for you <3
  17. [There was a new opening here. Didn't last very long.]
  18. I'm pretty sure this guy is in physical pain, Emunator. Someday there will be documentaries about your cruelty.
  19. Make sure the messages are actually reaching everyone. Before you send a private message on OCR, check the person's profile to see if they've logged in recently. If not, you might have better luck with a different method of communication, like email. I had to look up a guy's name and message him on facebook to remind him that he'd signed up for Essence of Lime, and he ended up following through.

As for deadlines themselves, I've always been pretty lenient about them. As long as people are keeping up-to-date and responding to messages, they'll probably get around to doing their work sooner or later (or they'll apologize and withdraw from the project). No mercy for the people who completely ignore the director, though. I've always managed to get in touch with unresponsive people by trying different methods, but if you can't get a reply despite jumping hurdles to contact them, drop 'em.

  20. We have a new opening in the summer section of the album: .If you're going to try for the track, you need to be able to work reasonably quickly to keep up with the rest of the album. I'd like to hear more than just a 30-second intro by September 20.
  21. All tracks are now claimed! Again! urdailywater has interesting plans for Sunken City. We have several tracks that switch up the moods of the original pieces. Fun.
  22. All of the EoL tracks that were submitted to the panel have been judged by now. I didn't submit tracks that I thought the judges would have problems with (source usage, production, etc.). We calculated the source usage in Cart Track Switchback; I think it was less than 50%.

  23. is still open. There's a new deadline on September 20; I need everyone to show me signs of progress by then. I will cut anyone who remains unresponsive and inactive. In other news, we should have a short preview in the near future.
  24. 1) Nope. We haven't been pursuing that option as relentlessly as it would seem we are required. It's not really an important issue to me.

    2) Darker? Yes. More intense? If you mean in a Keep Your Nightmares kind of way, yes. Not a fast-paced kind of intense, though.
