  1. DS games for sale, in case anyone wants to buy any/all of them. Just doing a bit of tidying. Metroid Prime Hunters Scribblenauts Yoshi's Island DS Checked on them today; all in good condition with box and manual intact. I don't even care how much you want to pay me as long as it's more than the cost of shipping. Maybe I'll draw you a one-of-a-kind stick figure masterpiece thank-you note too.
  2. People were talking about a big Nintendo reveal at VGX for a week? If they were looking forward to a Nintendo announcement that wasn't happening via Nintendo Direct, they weren't looking in the right place. I'm surprised Nintendo even bothered. I'm at the absolute final level of 3D World. Playing as Mario with no powerups. It's SO HARD but in a fun way. In a sweaty-trembling-hands fun way.
  3. Got my sound working. Shooting the audio through the computer itself so I can use my headphones and adjust the volume. Anyone know if there's a way to send gamepad audio through the console like you can do with Wii remotes? I just have the volume slider all the way down, and sometimes it's a little awkwardly silent, but it's not a big issue. I know sometimes the same audio comes from the gamepad and the console, so I figure it might not be possible. ID is Hylian_Lemon.
  4. Thanks! An RCA/stereo connector should do the trick, then, right? Much more appealing. So...current solution: HDMI cable -> monitor for video. Wii composite cable -> female-RCA-to-3.5mm-stereo connector -> speaker for audio. Could be prettier, but whatever gets the job done.
  5. Not from what I've read, unfortunately. Gotta output video and audio together. I think I'll go with the splitter.
  6. Probably buying a Wii U soon, and...my monitor doesn't have an audio out port. Would this kind of thing work? I'd need an extra HDMI cable, but then I could plug headphones or external speakers into the stereo port and be all set, right? Or am I missing any information about technical audio stuff?
  7. A Link Between Worlds is fantastic. I've been replaying LttP alongside my ALBW hero mode playthrough, and ALBW just...works better on so many levels. I'd heard some people worrying about the item system because 1) dungeon puzzles would never use multiple item combinations and 2) the dungeons wouldn't have any exciting new items inside. 1) Just like the original LoZ, having more items won't necessarily be required to solve certain puzzles, but they'll be helpful anyway. Some of the items are great for combat. There are also some enemies that can be used as bombs in dungeons, but it's easier to use your own if you have them. ALSO there are some treasure caves around the map that act like self-contained dungeon rooms that sometimes require a combination of items. There's one dungeon I can think of that requires two items, one of which is not a rentable item. 2) Many of the dungeons still have cool new gear in them. They're often completely skippable, though, which is awesome. Anyway. What I'm noticing in my LttP replay is that a lot of the dungeons have a very similar feel. There are a lot of locked doors masquerading as item puzzles (get power glove, lift rocks that were in the way...get hammer, hammer stakes that were in the way), and the dungeon design doesn't always seem to have a clear idea of what it's going for. Palace of Darkness is a good example. "See how this entrance is kind of similar to the light world version, but it's all gray? Uh and hammer stakes and turtles. I guess some rooms might be dark." Meanwhile ALBW comes up with a fucking brilliant system of darkness-based puzzles that also looks really cool. Every dungeon feels like a completely different experience from the ones before it. LttP introduced everything from the hookshot to pot-breaking, and it's still a strong game, but ALBW takes all that stuff and reworks it into a better package. As for the one thing that I'd been worried about beforehand (reusing the LttP overworld map), I can say I was pleasantly surprised. There's a nice mix of nostalgia and fresh discovery.
  8. Pretty sure you can do it from the beginning, but it'll only happen when the 3DS camera can maintain a clear shot at your face. The icon never shows up when I'm playing in the dark.
  9. Oh god...back when downloading music was such a commitment. And then someone would try to call and I'd have to disconnect... I don't even remember how I came to OCR. I was 12. I remember finding a few Dr. Fruitcake Zelda remixes on a small blog entry or personal site, and that might have sparked my interest in looking for more.
  10. Whatever happened, The Handsome Devils won in the looks department
  11. It had its dry spell, but there's practically always something new to play on it these days. Phoenix Wright and Zelda coming soon!
  12. Haha I was wondering when you'd say something about that
  13. Hmmmmmmmm, sounds good. Thanks. I've watched the Mario 3D World trailer several times now. Looks amazing. The last two home console games I bought were Skyward Sword a couple of years ago and the La-Mulana remake about a week ago. Meanwhile I'm constantly running out of space on my 3DS.
  14. I'm gonna need to get one of these soon. I could plug it into a computer monitor that supports HDMI input, right? I've been using a CRT for gaming up to this point, never really watch TV, and would prefer not to buy a new TV if I can get away with using stuff I already have. Who here has experience with this? Is it worth doing? Are there issues with that kind of setup? I don't know anything. I literally don't know anything. Help me.
  15. These last chance catch guides are pretty useful if you're going for a full log. They also make ones at the beginning of the month, but I prefer to find stuff naturally and then check to see what I'm missing toward the end. Last night I was fishing for a while, and I caught my second target right at the end of what I had decided would be my last sweep of the river. It inspired me to do one more pass, during which I caught the last thing I needed. Yesss
  16. http://youtu.be/dS9g1QBzSAw?t=3m4s Seems like it comes after a medley of the robot master themes. I guess Darke didn't want any source confusion there.
  17. I demand Wave Man x Saturn art right now for reasons Maybe some splash fiction to go with it
  18. I always end up splitting practically all of my work between the first day and the last day. Subbing soon.
  19. Liontamer wrote a general source breakdown in the judge decision thread, but there are still plenty of instances of Hornet/Plant/Splash/Wily for people to find on their own (in addition to the Schala Brandon apparently put in there). It's pretty dense layering. We shared a MIDI for the arrangement process. It went through all of us twice before Brandon fixed it up all proper-like.
  20. Picked up the game today. Still not really enthusiastic about the scaling sprites, but the environments are beautiful. I was actually playing with the 3D turned on. Looks nice. I'm a huge fan of the battle screen with the rolling horizon. Also, music. Yes. Good.
  21. Speaking of which...it's time to take a break from my SWEET ASS REMIX and come back to it tomorrow as an OKAY REMIX BUT SERIOUSLY WHAT WAS I THINKING IN THAT ONE PART.
  22. This guy sent me full recordings less than 3 days after hearing the track for the first time. He's not messin' around.
