  1. How convenient. I just turned in my last essay of the semester yesterday, so winter break is just starting now. The transition is a lot easier when you've played all the Mario Kart games in sequence as often as I have.
  2. Here's one I just made. What could be more Hylian Lemon than good old Gameboy Link? The act of designing a mural puzzle is a puzzle in itself. That was fun. (Hopefully I haven't overlooked some incredibly easy solution...)
  3. Bahaha. That blue shell came a second too late. I kind of wish the little community waiting room would let you actually type messages, but whatever. I mean "Ok!"
  4. Just started trying online stuff today. One race, I get utterly raped by items and end up 8th. The next, I'm too far ahead of everyone to ever make contact. Interesting.
  5. Power sliding works like it did in Mario Kart Wii--the sparks just build up after a certain amount of time sliding. The more sharply you turn, the faster the sparks build up. So there isn't really any snaking. Also: One GBA track, two SNES tracks, four Wii tracks. I thought these were supposed to be retro cups.
  6. Oracle of Seasons and Skyward Sword playing at the same time. All of my thumbs up.
  7. Exporting my remix now. Ready for some chiptunes? spoilers: you won't get any
  8. You guys and your fancy, demanding TVs. I'm playing on this. (that's me in the middle)
  9. I saw someone else talking about that, too. Here's a summary for anyone interested. The dungeon's cool on its own, but this adds another layer to my appreciation.
  10. Yeah...I would've allowed them to drag me into it if I'd had a house to myself at any point over Thanksgiving break. But two people were enough for the purpose of the track, so it's all good. I'm doing this round, right? I think that's what we decided.
  11. Apparently the game was directed by Hidemaro Fujibayashi, the same guy who directed the Oracles and The Minish Cap. Funny, because I was just thinking how Lanayru Desert as a whole was chock-full of Oracle/Minish-esque ideas: Concentrated time travel puzzles (which also felt kind of seasonal at times), mine carts, pirate ships sailing through deserts, an item inspired by the gust jar... I don't know exactly how much directors contribute, but anyway. I thought it was cool. Those things were some of my favorite aspects of the game.
  12. Yup, that battle kicks your ass if you don't know exactly what you're doing. I had to use a fairy and a potion, and I hadn't done that since the first boss (um...I was still getting used to the controls? ). There's a moment when you suddenly figure out how to beat it and you just go "oh my god this is cool." Of course, for all I know, you have figured it out and you're just still having trouble. It's definitely one of the more aggressive Zelda final bosses. Just thinking of Ganondorf from Twilight Princess makes me chuckle. No final boss should be that easy with minimum health and no healing items. I went into Skyward Sword expecting it to follow the trend of the Zelda series getting easier and easier. Then I got electrocuted about 1500 times over the course of the game. You really have to pay attention to what you're doing with the sword and/or get clever with items. Not that it's hard-hard...but it felt like things were actually trying to kill me.
  13. I'll probably give it a shot the next time I decide to replay. I'll have to do a minimal-health run at some point, too (guess we can't call it a 3-heart run anymore). Of course, I have yet to beat Majora's Wrath with 3 hearts, but I'm workin' on it. Trying to avoid getting sword upgrades if I can help it.
  14. I finished the game this morning. I hadn't seen any of the trailers or preview videos or anything, and I think that ended up being a great decision. Looking at the videos now, it seems like they showed off the entire game. So anyway. I liked it. Time for side quests.
  15. Don't tell me what to name my mix or I will sic some bees on you I'm the goddamn Beeman
  16. I wasn't framing my post as a direct response to your question. Your question already had an implied answer.
  17. Lives are stupid. Zelda's been doing fine without them all this time. Just punish the player for dying and leave it at that. I've been playing Mario 3D Land all week and I love it. Having 300 lives is close enough to not having lives in the game at all.
  18. I actually just got on earlier this morning while I was waiting for Darke to post the next Wily source. But yeah, I haven't really had much time to devote to building stuff this semester. I'm glad someone went ahead and started building a spawn village; I can't even finish my own projects. :

  19. Mega Man 5! I'm the last one left on my team, so Hornet Man's taking this one.
  20. Welp, we knew MM2 Wily 1 had to show up at some point. I'm ok with this. Looking forward to seeing which song I'll be remixing next week.
  21. I didn't know it was even possible for a song to be this good.
