  1. This game is infuckingcredible. It's beautiful, it's brutal, it's massive, it's fun oh my god. I wish I could describe how each and every aspect is amazing, but it's just too much right now and I want to play. I'll say this: in my short time with it today (~6 hours) it's much closer to a 9 than it is 7.
  2. Me. I've been using Marble Madness as the intro bumper to my radio show/podcast for several years now. I remember in fact when I posted a thread asking for permission to use it and Darkesword responded with "You should know Palpable never posts on the forums" or something to that effect.
  3. Once again for the 30 millionth time: THE SLOWDOWN IS HARDCODED INTO THE GAME BECAUSE OF INEFFICIENT PROGRAMMING
  4. There's also an option somewhere in the settings that allows you to reduce disc spinning by caching more data, so if you want longer battery life, turn that on.
  5. If anyone hasn't played it on the PSP yet, the XBLA version of Exit came out today, and it's farking fantastic. I love this game so much, and for $10 you get 220 levels. That is an obscene deal.
  6. Of course. It's only the reason I bought my PSP this year once the slim came out. I'm super excited. I played it at both E3 and E for All this year, but I only gave it a cursory demo because I'm trying not to spoil it.
  7. I did an interview today with Mr. Musical Legend himself, Akira Yamaoka. You can read it here. He touches on how he approached the musical creation process for SH0 and SH5 as well as some other stuff.
  8. I agree, though I would like to see Sagat and/or Dan in it as well.
  9. Too late. My friend irez already made an electro remix of the song.
  10. Every Extend Extra Extreme hits the XBLA this Wednesday. It has like 5 game modes, one of which is the ability to use your own custom songs from your HDD for use in the game.
  11. So awesome games aren't your thing? Maybe you should find a new hobby.
  12. The translation was redone to more closely match with the dialogue style from Final Fantasy 12 (in fact it was the same team who did both translations) as Square is pushing this uniform Ivalice Alliance game saga to be consistent through each title.
  13. Strong contender for game of the year. Awesome in almost every regard: gameplay, writing, pacing, and atmosphere. And the ending is so good.
  14. Everyday Shooter comes out this Thursday on the PSN for $10. If you PS3 owners don't buy it, you will be guilty of a CRIME. Official site and trailer here How does it play? Imagine a cross between Geometry Wars and Rez. I think that's all that needs to be said. Buy it.
  15. Everyone should go download and play the new Bladestorm demo. It's like Dynasty Warriors done right. So awesome! I am picking this up day one.
  16. Same designer: Toshio Iwai.
  17. I never found the rest of the costume
  18. There's some slight slowdown with spells and certain attacks. Nothing you can fix because it's hard coded into the game through lazy/inefficient programming.
  19. The greatest to me was being able to put on a Mega Man helmet and Mega Buster in the movie theater. So great.
  20. Soundtrack is the same, translation is all new. Cameos by Lusa (FFTA; job is "Mob Hunter") and Balthier (FF12; job is "Sky Pirate"). New jobs include Onion Knight (they don't learn any skills bu can equip anything) and Dark Knight (similar to the dark knights of FF11 in that their attacks are based around HP draining to both give and receive damage). Balthier Lusa Dark Knight Job retranslations include Lancer now known as Dragoon and Mediator now known as Orator. Calculators are now called Arithmeticians. U.S. boxart Official site Intro cathedral scene redone with cutscene animation and voice acting Some screens featuring the new translation: 1 2
  21. Wow, this is the worst official game thread I've seen in some time. For future reference, the correct way to do an official game thread, especially one about the greatest SRPG of all time, is here. See the art? The links? Yeah.
  22. I said that a couple weeks ago when it first came out, and lo and behold, I magically found $200 waiting to be spent (but probably shouldn't have been). Still, I'm very happy with it. The PSP has a far higher "sexy" factor than the DS.
  23. I do but I have nothing to compare it to since I never had the old PSP. One thing is for sure: being able to play on your TV rocks.
  24. GoW isn't out yet, not til March 08. Right now everyone should be playing Jeanne d'Arc, which is the best SRPG since FFT. And speaking of FFT, Final Fantasy Tactics: The War or the Lions comes out next Tuesday. If it's not the most beautiful thing I've seen in 10 years, beauty doesn't exist. A brief snapshot of what the new version contains: -Brand new animated cutscenes, with voice acting -Two new jobs: Onion Knight and Dark Knight -Two new characters: Lusa (from FFTA) and Balthier (from FF12) And there's more. FFT GOTY PSP? Depends on how Silent Hill Origins fares, but it's making a strong case.
