This is the worst convention of the Paper Mario series and I hate it with a passion. I mean it worked all right once, but using it in every single one of them just made them all feel too similar, plot-wise. You do realize he wasn't talking to you about Bowser's castle? He was talking to Ray Falling, who was playing the game in another language, which makes the puzzles in Bowser's castle very improbable to beat without ridiculous luck. Also, if you think you can't miss anything, two words: Lazy. Shell. Actually, two more words: Star. Egg. Both are so incredibly easy to miss I didn't know they existed for almost ten years. Safety Badge on one of your party members, Lazy Shell armor on another, plenty of Pick Me Ups for the third, and then go at him with the Star Egg. Sure the animation gets bloody KILL-YOUR-FRIENDS-TO-STOP-THE-MADNESS annoying after the fifth or sixth time, and the tactic mind-numbingly repetitive, but when all else fails, use the Star Egg.

I think none of the mods have noticed the difference because they both have the same name and they haven't appeared on the front page together. And, as we all know, none of the mods care about Wii.

So I never did go see The Faint (wasn't terribly interested after hearing the last album), but here's what I had to say about Islands and Wolf Parade on another forum: Now I am going to see Tokyo Police Club tomorrow night, and two weeks from then, Okkervil River (w/ Man Man) and Cut Copy within the space of one weekend. (They're both Austin City Limits aftershows.) I am also debating plans to see The Walkmen and TV on the Radio (holy AHIDHWKNDAWK the new album is fantastic) in October.

Has anyone here ever sold anything on Amazon.com?
Imagist replied to Meteo Xavier's topic in General Discussion
No, I have never sold you anything on Amazon.com For serious, the basic way it works is this: you register yourself as a seller on Amazon, which works kind of like eBay or Paypal in that you register a bank account for them to deposit funds into. Then you can list items. You will set the list price that customers will see. Then, when it sells, Amazon will give you a certain amount of credit in addition to that price so that you can ship it. They will also take their cut off the top. Depending on what the item is (how much it will cost to ship) and what your price is (their cut is a percentage of the selling price) this may mean you make more or less than your list price. Amazon allows you two days from the point of purchase to ship the item, after which you are allowed to refund the customer if you have failed to do so. It is up to you to notify the customer of shipping, and also arrange anything extra like tracking numbers, whatever. Once you make your first sale, your profit on the sale and any subsequent sales will be deposited to your bank account after 14 days. Beyond that point, you can either let your profits be deposited automatically every 14 days or make a withdrawl any time you so choose. But the first payday isn't until 14 days after the first sale. One more note: Amazon encourages you to use Media Mail for books, CDs, movies, games and the like. This is usually the most cost-effective option, so I recommend it too. -
Well, the thing isn't that you have to prove you're in college, but that you generally have to show you're in the same network as someone else to view most of their info (unless they change their privacy settings). The idea behind this is you're not likely to know someone you don't share at least one network with (school, business or region) and so it, by default, offers some protection against entirely random people trolling for victims of whatever (stalking, identity theft). Now, if you were to have your way, sure, they would have an option to make things accessible to "everyone" (currently the furthest you can extend information is to all of your networks, aside from basic information such as name, networks, friends, and profile picture which can be made available to anyone), and allow unregistered users to access that. But then again, this networks concept is the most basic thing that separates Facebook from Myspace, security-wise, so that's unlikely.

Depends on your settings. By default, actually, anyone in any of your networks can access just as much of your profile as your friends. How... how would you ever get in or out??
-
I personally love the new profile pages. I've always been a big fan of the tabs on Google's personalized homepages. I just wish other people would quit whining and learn to use them so we get more interesting pages than "Info," "Wall" and "Photo." I have some complaints about the new home page, but they're relatively minor, so I won't go on about them here.

Certainly not 15 pages flexible! How... flexible is your story? -

But then you would run away in tears and not submit a short story! And that would make me sad, because it is my last competition. How about I just tell you off severely instead? -
it's okay at least he's not glitch/nohbody, that dude is quite literally the worst at everything ever in the history of ocr (and ocr has had some pretty bad dudes)

If you were truly disciplined you'd have been around for the other competitions too! (Or submitted a short story for freeform...) -
or I didn't actually read the rest of the thread also I think my way was funnier

Oh. Hey guys, the contest started. -
How does this not describe 90% of all games ever? The point is that, gameplay-wise, it is an action-adventure game (and so is Startropics).
-
Super Mario RPG. Seriously. EDIT: Schwaltzvald, I would hardly say Startropics and A Link to the Past are RPGs.
-
it had to be done
-
"youre" wrong (or should I say rong because you are terrible at everything ever including language)
-
I'd rather not have Catwoman again.
-
alternatively also you know the internet, it never believes anything until... well it never believes anything

I... haven't actually figured out what to do with the competition. I've been so caught up preparing for what I'm going to be doing the next two years that I've almost forgotten to think about what this and other things I'm involved with are going to do. I guess I figured someone would up and approach me about taking it over like I did to G_D. But for now it's probably best to stick to the rotation, because I have a feeling that as long as there are writers around the forums there will be a writing competition. That said, if you're a responsible and willing person who has the time and focus to dedicate to the competition, and most importantly think that you will be able to stick with it for the foreseeable future, by all means PM me. -

So... I am a pretty terrible person when it comes to doing what I say I am going to do. Sorry Washington Maverick, Random Hajile. I promise I'll do it eventually? But for now, we have another competition coming up! The September short story competition, my last competition, begins this weekend! You can now find the dates in the first post.
