  1. If http://www.digitalspy.com/gaming/news/a489247/super-mario-3d-world-preview-cat-suits-co-op-in-new-wii-u-adventure.html is to be believed, it will have online Multi.
  2. A PC game by EA? I hope you like Origin, because it'll be required.
  3. I actually have a tf2 script specifically to address it. Whenever I mash a key, it randomly nominates any nonarena map on the entire server. A few nights we've already seen maps that people forgot were on the server.
  4. A lot of SimCity copies got returned, though - EA even went full dumbass and started banning anyone who got a key from Amazon simply because Amazon made exceptions to PC returns, just for SimCity As for Tomb Raider, by now that's largely considered Square-Enix's fault. They set hideously high sales expectations due to mismanagement. It's only a commercial failure in Square-Enix's eyes and their bar that's set somewhere in the ionosphere.
  5. Some of the backgrounds are nice.
  6. While the second point is something I think you'll find little resistance to, I do think it very important to recall the fallout after FF13 crashed and burned. It's a bitch finding articles for it now, but I believe the CEO of the company ended up screaming at the dev team to "Stop making games you want, and start making games people want to play." The problem seemed to be even more pinpoint than elaborate = good; it seemed to be Square-Enix getting its head stuck up it's own ass after frequent repeated colossal successes. It made them headstrong, and they continued to think their fans would pied piper them wherever. FF11's initial slam into a wall barely phased them. It took 13 and 14 being colossal failures to shake them out. Seriously, both games were such broken messes, I kept looking for the EA Logo on both. I have 13, I'm probably going to slog through to the end, but it'll be one of the few games that I push through out of obligation (I make it a point to beat every FF possible. It started when I realized I'd already done that up to FF10) It's just so dull. It's someone's pet project, Lightning is definitely someone's wish fulfillment waifu, the whole thing just drips that it was made to appeal to a very very very limited type of person, to the complete destruction of anyone else enjoying it.
  7. That huge rant and not one substitution of $ for the S in Microsoft. Incredible.
  8. Happy Birthday Baha. I got you a rocket. Log on to TF2 and stand still to receive it.
  9. They've gone full Daikatana.
  10. They stopped because they no longer had the time to make it. Another dude in the office was editing and uploading it just on the side, without pay. And I'd argue that they do want to, on some level, or they wouldn't have put this out there in the first place.
  11. The game has as much in common with the first third of The Divine Comedy as Dragonball Fucking Z has in common with Journey to the West. Dragonball Z may be more faithful to it's source material.
  12. Haha, the joke is that the title sounds like a sexual act, but that the actual action is, in fact, not that act! HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA. IT IS VERY FUNNY.
  13. http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/05/21/ea-developing-wii-u-games-after-all If your bet was "EA will reverse course in a week", congrats, you win. EA is a hilariously terrible company. It's amazing.
  14. Bayonetta: 1.35m copies Worldwide by March 31, 2012 Pikmin: 1.18m copies worldwide to-date, approx. Only source I can find for Pikmin 2 is VGChartz and they're about as trustworthy as EA. They claim 1.6m copies worldwide, counting both GCN and Wii New Play Control.
  15. http://www.gamasutra.com/blogs/GregLastowka/20130517/192424/All_Your_Nintendo_Lets_Plays_Are_Belong_To_Nintendo.php Here's a decent article by a dude who actually has some professional knowledge about the sort of issues surrounding it, weighing in on reasons why Nintendo flexed their muscle the way they did. It is worth noting, Nintendo has always been extremely careful about Mario's representation. Charles Martinet has said he never ever says anything crass or "out of character" in the Mario voice, ever. There was the whole bit with Wreck-It Ralph a while back, as well. Nintendo realizes how big an icon Mario is, and goes through extremely great lengths to maintain his image and iconic status. It's just never really been that big an issue until this thing.
  16. And even then, they've only done anything to videos of Mario Kart 7, Super Mario 3D Land, New Super Mario 2, and New Super Mario Wii U.
  17. Partner with Square-Enix for the next Smash game Closest we'll ever get to Ergheiz 2.
  18. Brandon each time you post I'm amazed someone can be as wrong as you are. It is like you are in a competition to be as wrong as humanly possible, and you are going for the fucking gold. Here's some games that made for some damn fun times with the Wiimote: Mario Kart Wii, the Zelda series - You know what? Pull a Nintendo-developed game off the shelf. You've got a better than average chance, it made the Wiimote fun. Now a lot of people are going to chime in and say TP/SS weren't amazing with the wiimote. You know what, I can agree there. They weren't perfect. TP had you play a four year game of harvest moon before it trusted you with sharp things, and SS has it's own minor host of issues, but they were still goddamn fun. If the idea of swinging the wiimote and seeing your avatar on the screen swing it with you didn't give you an amazing rush, not to mention when you finally overcame difficult battles with expert handling of the controls, I think your fun center may be broken, and you need to re-evaluate what "fun" means to you.
  19. http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/interest/2013-05-08/compile-heart-final-fantasy-amano-and-uematsu-reveal-fairy-fencer-f-rpg So far, it looks like it's going to be moé as fuck http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=21oq4r4&s=5 Promo poster for it. http://www.siliconera.com/2013/05/08/fairy-fencer-f-uses-an-enhanced-version-of-neptunias-battle-system/ Siliconera states it will use Neptunia's battle system, and Amano's duties are concept art, while the dude who did the Neptunia designs is the main character designer. Um. Yeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah.
  20. A Star Wars game done in the style of Dante's Inferno would be a 'retelling' of the original trilogy. Luke runs around using his triple-bladed lightsaber and fire-breathing magic powers to body-slam stormtroopers into the ground, before crushing their heads with the hilt of his lightsaber while screaming TURN TO THE LIGHT SIDE OF THE FORCE, culmunating in a boss fight against Darth Vader on a golden chariot shaped like Vader's head with Ackbar as the driver while running across Mecha-Palpatine's body, which is now the death star itself.
  21. The only remotely decent thing DI had going for it was visual level design. Whatever artists decided to go whole hog for the whole "Hell" thing really nailed it. Everything else, including what was 'borrowed' from God of War (No seriously, it was absolutely shameless in the fact that it was a GoW clone.) was just absolutely terrible and isn't so much as "taking a risk" as "Making a carbon copy game and hoping aggressive marketing takes off."
