OCR01580 - Sonic the Hedgehog "Still in Your Marble Zone"
Flare4War replied to djpretzel's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
What an awesome intro and great arrangement as a whole. This is what OCR is all about, taking something that is ordinary or over done and making it extraordinary or restoring it to its former glory. Excellent work. -
I want to comment again how I enjoy this arrangement. After listening to it several times it's really grown on me. It feels somehow less repetitive then when I first listened to it. Just by listening to it a few more times I've found a place in my heart for it and it's made it's way onto my favorites list. It's not the first mix I wasn't thrilled about until I listened to it several times. Good work.

I can't tell if this is an invitation to join the other discussion or a declaration to stfu. Maybe both.. lol

I see your point and I agree.

People like to insinuate that if guns had been illegal this kid wouldn't have killed anyone. Perhaps it's not what they mean specifically but it's what is constantly implied. People will still find guns even if they're illegal. On the other hand, I do think hand guns should blotted out of use. There is no need for them. They were designed for murder and for murder they are used. That goes for both law enforcement and civilians alike. Having the right to bear arms doesn't mean we should all have the right to wield a utensil designed for crime. What it does mean is I have the right to go buy a rifle, as well I should. I will say that I think handguns have there use in military operations but just barely, and largely because the enemy will always have them. I am here digressing I admit, but it's one the issues this incident is going to bring up and we'll all be hearing about it for the next while. What then can they do? Make all hand guns illegal and start performing mass repo? Not a chance. That would be a bigger failure than prohibition. Then how do they go about it? To me, the answer is the manufacturing of ammunition. Make it illegal to manufacture small rounds, and recall all handgun ammunition from retailers. People would still have handguns but when they found out that getting their hands on 9mm, 45, and 38 rounds was like making a drug transaction they'd be discouraged from buying those firearms. Yes, I know the argument that because the mafia and drug dealers have handguns and always will the police and agents ought to have the same right. It is a good argument. I can't blame them. If I was a narc agent active in my duty, I'll admit it...I'd want the best semi-auto 9mm on the market with quad-magazine holster and access to plenty of ammunition. Notwithstanding this argument, law enforcement regularly abuse the use of handguns (as well as other firearms). Tangent? Possibly. I think it's very relevant to the issue and incident.

If now isn't the time for blaming... I'll ask. When is the time?
-
The only way that could be more true is if you took out the word 'always'.

Well you see... It has to be video games that caused this; because, people were never acting out violently before Mario and Luigi came along. Then Crash Bandicoot just escalated the situation. By the time Wolfenstein 3D came along the average American bedroom was a Hitler training camp.. Before all this there was piece and harmony in the world. Murder was rarely spoken of and rape completely unheard of. Along came these damn video games and utterly destroyed piece on earth and good will towards men. I agree with Injin. It's interesting and shocking that literature bares no responsibility for violence outbreaks....ever, but media (especially the video game industry) is constantly blamed. Not to be un-sympathetic. What happened is awful. They should do everything they can to determine the cause. Study it. Investigate it. At last, if they can, understand it.

There might be a specific incident that triggered the psychotic behavior but the actions he took, the things he did, to me proves some serious ongoing and underlying issues. That kinda of sadistic behavior doesn't brood into someone overnight, or even over a couple of weeks. This is in many ways stating the obvious. My point is just that even if he was having problem with his girlfriend it was only the catalyst, not the fuel. Tragic in any case though.
-
Good point. They shouldn't have been sending people back to class till something like that was/is completely resolved. Asanine.
-
They'll blame 'violent media'. More likely meth, and other unchecked bad habits are to blame. See how it goes. Pretty awful.

Really like. Piano work is awesome. Feels some how very different. Great job. -
Happy birthday yo. You didn't even tell us how old you are. You're a member of OCR you can't be insecure about your age.
-
Yeah, Sonic and Tails would be great additions.

I Know Right!!

They should pack as many characters in there as possible as far as I'm concerned, so long as they put time into making them all cool. Put Cloud and Tifa, for that matter Sephiroth, While they're att it put Ryu from Ninja Gaiden, and as many clones as they're willing to come up with. The more the better for all I care. As long as they're performing due diligence on each characters move and fighting style etc.

Link can be formidable against any of the other characters. As someone before mentioned, noobs who over use his spin attack will get owned consistently. They under estimate is ability to kick in the air as effectively as Fox or Falco though he doesn't have the speed or height to his jump. Generally people don't realize how quick his ending blow attack is. If you know how to time it so his sword doesn't stick in the ground it's tremendously fast and versatile. Someone who understands links combo rhythm can compete with the best of them no problem. Just keep at him. He owns.

OCR01561 - Great Giana Sisters "Synthpop Mix"

I thought the intro was great. The arrangement overall was fantastic. The "C'MON!!" in the back added a nice touch. It's a great remix. It didn't seem too linear to me. Overall it reminded me a lot of Rayza's work. Great track. -
I'm still recovering from that blasted damn game. Sucked me in like a tractor beam. I played up to 75Sam/65Nin/56Rng/55War/48Thf/22Mnk and 56 Goldsmithing. I got my brother into it and he got up to a 75Whm/50Blm and had a 56 Brd. So having a brother healer/support made it easy to set up parties etc. We finally just decided we were losing track of our real priorities and quit cold, passed off all of our craz to a pal and deleted. That's good they fixed that problem. I always wondered wtf was wrong with them not letting you select server. So gay. Uuggh I hate that ^%$@$ing game.

I like it from every angle. I can't find anywhere in the track where it is overbearing to the ears. It is nice and smooth and the ending was wonderful. This track will definitely have a home on my mp3 player. Another 30 seconds worth would have been great. Excellent work. -
OCR01558 - Super Mario World "Monstrous Turtles!"

Zircon made this remix and what more need I say. Honestly, Yanni and Cusco could take a lesson from the guy. Far and away my favorite arrangement from any of the Super Mario games. Truly prodigious work. Keep'em come Zirc. We trust you.
