I'm basically grinding levels, but after level 40 it's almost unbearable. The mere existence of the Darkonium Slime seems counterintuitive to the premise of the aftergame. They're tough as nails, super-powerful, and offer pitiful experience and cash, especially when compared to the monsters in the final dungeon and elsewhere. They're just... a freakin' stopgap, to keep you from surviving higher-level grottoes unless you've alchemized awesome equipment. That said, jerkfaces like the Octagoon are just as bad... But I don't want to have to fight 50 arduous battles just to gain a single level, especially with diminishing returns in skill points. Oh well, guess I just gotta get a hundred alchemy items and go at it.

Maps can be any level, and any name. You can have 2 maps with the exact same name and level in different locations. So, no, your level 58 map is not necessarily the same as his level 58 map.

Ryu's mouth is a bit, uh.... Yeah.

Is it just me or does every high-level alchemy recipe ultimately rely on Brighten Rocks? Also, some quests just aren't worth completing. In fact, a lot of quests feel like the reward simply isn't worth it. Either the quest is simple and thus the reward not worth the hassle or it requires a really rare item and the reward is something easier to obtain.

I tried fighting Baramos... with a level 23 party. Needless to say things did not go well. I'm currently just grinding and completing quests. I'm going back to job classes that aren't over level 40 and grinding, grinding, grinding. I want mah stat bonuses! That said Baramos looks pretty goofy.

Charlemagne the Frank, are we? You fate is sealed! Eternal Darkness has a decent ending.
-
Chrono Cross has the king of all lame endings, wherein if you kill the final boss the normal, non-song-related way, you are treated to a grayscale girl wandering around grayscale tokyo while the credits roll... And that's it. Other endings are serviceable but ultimately depressing or unsatisfying.

Actually, the reason I think everyone was still there was because in the post-game, if you talk to people (like the aforementioned 5-year-old) some of them complain that they've been feeling a lot more tired lately. I don't remember Layton saying the people were illusions. Just that the entire current appearance of the town was an illusion caused by the hallucinogenic gas. The real reason the plot is so silly is because it teeters entirely on a bunch of photos at the train station and the idea that the effects of the gas are immediate.

Diabolical Box's Folsense residents weren't illusions. The people were all 50 years older than what they actually looked like, however. Which means a few of them were around NINETY.

If you're having trouble with unlocking the gladiator class, remember that slimes won't run if you're a low level and have crap equipment on. So change everyone to a new class and have one character equipped with a copper sword and leave everyone else bare. Voila! Easy gladiator unlocking! Too bad armamentalist and ranger aren't this easy.

But how are we guaranteed the entire 35-character roster of Street Fighter? EDIT: Wait-- derp. Cuz it's already done. Of course.

Can you name the Best Selling Video Games (Worldwide)?

32/50. I got tripped up on some of the Mario titles. For example, it wouldn't take "Mario 64 DS". I also forgot some series I never really played. -
Soul Calibur would be a bit off against Street Fighter. Against Blazblue or Guilty Gear (which are also weapon-based fighters), though? Now that would be crazy.

Sorry, I don't really follow comics at all so I'm not sure who Super Skrull is (aside from Skrulls being body swaps for retcons). But since you said that I figure he's some F4 villain who's got all their powers.

It's not like wolves wear pants, you know. And no Fantastic 4? Bummer. Actually, we have yet to see any Marvel girls, which is why we're getting the likes of Felicia and Trish on Capcom's side... But maybe Black Cat? Squirrel Girl? Storm? Elektra? Er... Aside from more X-men ladies, is there really anyone else?
-
Needs more Arthur, Zack & Wiki, and Nina from Breath of Fire. As for the Marvel side, I might be the only one who hopes Sue Richards is playable.

Fixed that for me.

At one point in the story the main character must pose as a student at a school. Having a beard would kind of make that difficult. That's my reasoning anyway. That and anime characters have some bizarre aversion to facial hair 95% of the time.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaa I gained 30 levels in Martial Artist in like 7 hours oh god aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. Seriously, this game's got me in its sinister clutches. I heard the story is basically 50 hours long. At the rate I'm going it'll take me 150 to beat the game. After those 30 levels in Martial Artist I moved on to Armamentalist and gained 10 levels there.

Anyone get to explore the first randomly-generated dungeon (you get the map from Collapsus)? The monsters were all easy-peasy, but the boss raped me like my ass was covered in candy. What I'm saying is, it's probably best to wait until your party is level 30 or so.

Not to mention there hasn't really been any true innovation in the last 6 or 7 years of gaming, at least. It's just rearranging the chairs in the room and telling people you did renovations.

Oh, will this work with a legit copy of Graces, then? I guess the translation will be compatible with homebrew. That'd be nice, because right now so much of the plot is completely lost on me.

Get used to that. I alchemized up a slime hood and a slime suit... I put it on my mage and now he's dressed like a Slime Stack enemy and looks absolutely retarded, with all his other equipment clipping through his armour. Even when the armour matches it looks bad! Also what is up with the kilt leg armour being hiked up to the crotch in battle.

The impression I get is that anyone of any level can join at any time in the story. In fact, it seems like you don't even need to follow the host player's party -- you can go wherever you like and be in a completely different party. EDIT: I've been playing the hell out of this. Got 7 party members made up (and thankfully it's no minoriteam). I named everyone after things or adjectives: Oriole, Chalice, Pale, Kray, Harp, Mosaic, and Lima. Oriole is a minstrel, of course, and everyone else is one of the six default classes.
