  1. I hope you guys are in your teens still, because a 20-30 year old getting this excited over a super nintendo gamepad and a mario soundtrack is somewhat odd. I grew up in the nintendo/super nintendo era and I never thought that controller was really anything special. In fact, it wasn't until the PS1's dual shock controller that I really thought someone had finally done it right. Now I would say the X-box 360 is king of controller. Also, a Mario soundtrack? Really? I bet you could make something better with a keyboard with only 2 keys. Anyway...
  2. I don't know if people know this, but people have been sampling in music for a very long time now. In fact, there was even a car commercial at one point that sampled a track out of a Chrono Cross song. Sampling can also be heard all the time in Electronic music. In any case, it happens a lot and is legal if you use only a certain amount of time. If you take a song outright that is copyright infringement, but sampling is perfectly okay. Stealing is not. With that said, the music in CT is still MUSIC, so why can't it be sampled. Whether it was or wasn't either, it's not like he stole anything. He took like a 5 second segment and looped it. That is perfectly legal and with the other beats he worked in, not CT related, it really sounds good imo.
  3. I seriously can't believe that this many people get a boner over a mario game
  4. I recently played the demo of Hellgate: London, which is also a good game, but before I did I got prompted to download a patch directly from the microsoft site. It was a fix for a virtual memory problem and it listed Crysis and Hellgate as 2 specifics games where you could run into this problem. Well, I downloaded the fix and played both games just fine. Hellgate isn't that demanding in the first place and I was able to run everything on max. My current setup is Windows Vista 32-bit, 4 gigs of RAM, Nvidia 8800 Ultra, and Creative X-Fi sound card. I was able to run Crysis at 1280x1080 or whatever the number is resolution with all the other settings on High with no framerate drop whatsoever. However, I was not able to run on Very High settings with the same success. So, on one side of it, people may be running into the memory problem I talked about eariler, but at the same time, this game is quite demanding. With that said though, the demo was a very good experience. For those who have Vista and run Direct X10, you know just how good this game looks. This game's single player will give Half-Life 2 a run for it's money I predict. Don't get me wrong though, I love Half-Life 2. Basically, don't give up on Crysis yet, the game is going to be the start of the next generation of shooters along with Call of Duty 4.
  5. 1.) What is your favorite game series? Half-Life 2 Series. The original wasn't a bad game, but no where near the level of the second. 2.) What is the game series you are best at? Battlefield Series, I am the Gold Medal king. For single player, probably Prince of Persia (Not the ghetto POS old one either, the new ones by Ubisoft). 3.) What game from your favorite game series is your favorite? Half-Life 2: Episode Two which just came out. Better than both the original game and Episode One they really did put all the right elements into this one. I was convinced while playing it that I had not played a better game ever (Dead Serious, and I've been gaming since the original Nintendo). 4.) What games in your favorite series do you OWN (Rentals and Past Ownership don't count, though you can include Past Ownership if you note those). I own them all. I also owned all of my close seconds which are: Splinter Cell, Prince of Persia, and OF COURSE Command and Conquer. 5.) WHY is your favorite game series your favorite, and why would you suggest others to look into it? If people need a reason to check out Half-Life 2, they are probably retarded or something...no offense. Anyone who calls themselves a gamer and likes FPS does themselves a grave injustice by not playing this game series. If you haven't tried go give the original Half-Life 2 a shot, they are practically giving it away now.
  6. I didn't think the first team fortress was that good? Is this one supposed to be any different? To me, Counter-Strike has always been the Half-Life mod champion.
  7. I honestly don't think any Squaresoft game has ever invoked anything resembling emotion for me. I have played them all and none of them truly have any sort of personal touch to them. I don't know if it's because they are too "kiddy" or that they just don't draw you in at a personal level. Whenever playing a FF game I feel like I'm playing a movie. Anyway, who cares about FF7, it's 2007 and there are and have been much better games made. FF12 for instance, in my opinion, is the best one. They finally changed the formula for once. Still nothing emotional though. I would say my last moral effect from a video game came from BIOSHOCK. If you haven't played, then stop reading... I'm not talking about either saving or harvesting the girls either, I'm talking about the part where Andrew Ryan meets his demise. It was a brutal scene and really made you feel helpless. "A man decides, and a slave obeys!" For others games that caused a response look no farther then the Silent Hill Series.
  8. Dawn's Edge X 2 and Dwarven Hand Cannon = 1337 Hunter
  9. dude FFXI sucks. The jobs are more expanded? How long did you play WoW. I not a fanboy or anything but I played FFXI for like a year and all it was non stop grinding all the time. If you want party based fighting run instances. That's why wow is so good, because you can solo or party. FFXI doesn't even have PvP does it?
  10. The mix is good, there's no doubt about that. You should make a instrumental version available too though.
  11. yeah I love the games, but lets fce it, there is no such thing as a good video game movie.
  12. This is one of the better mixes I have heard on this website for a while. In fact, it's really damn good. Nice job man.
  13. Well, I see now that Ziwtra has joined ranks with Quinn Fox. What I mean is, Ziwtra is incapable of making a bad mix. WOOT! to this song!
  14. This is really good. How many takes did it take you to get this down? There is a serious lack of classically trained musicians these days and it's nice to hear someone who actually knows what they are doing
  15. very cooooooooool upbeat song. It is very true to the orginal and reminds me of the days I first got my SNES back in the day. This is the first game I got for it too, so it holds a special place in my heart.
  16. lmao... from those names I can only choose a few as trance. crystal method? chemical brothers? the prodigy? depeche mode? Meat Beat Manifesto? DJ SHADOW? Also I must admit that Paul Oakenfold would be good trance (In fact I'm going to his concert soon in my country) but come on, from those artists you mentioned there's a big range of genres that don't include trance. Big beat, breakbeat, Trip Hop, dnb.. hell they aren't even techno. So what makes you think you could say what is good trance or good techno? meh, I'm not gonna even bother anymore. I think you missed my point. Only the first three I listed I named as Trance
  17. Good Trance would be Sasha, some Oakenfold, and Underworld, but your right I really don't like Hard Trance. However, it said to review and If just giving you my take on it. Also, to defend my electronia knowledge, or whatever you want to call it, if you really want me to name off all the artists I owe I would be glad to. The name's would go well over 50. To name a few: Aphex Twin, Orbital, The Orb, Meat Beat Manifesto, Sasha, Gus gus, Naomi, Fragile State, u-Ziq, DJ Shadow, Juno Reactor, Depeche Mode, Massive Attack, Spicelab, Roni Size, The Chemical Brothers, Crystal Method, AK1200, The Prodigy, Underworld, etc... I really could keep going, trust me I know my stuff. Also, I'm interested... what is Techno? Cause I guess I only know electronica. What are some artists that are considered Techno?
  18. I don't mean to be harsh, but this song sucks! It is the most boring, repetitive, trash I've ever listened to. Does the creator of this track even listen to techno, cause I would say no. I myself have amassed a huge collection and I can tell that this song just plain sucks. The production is top notch, but the song itself lacks soul. You should hop over to VGmix 2 or whatever and listen to Gecko Yamori's "Mellow Tempest" or "Work It", now thats some good techno. Or pick up some Aphex Twin, whatever. Please though, if you don't know anything about techno then please don't make it.
