  1. Okay, this is totally cool. Very, very, smooth and soothing. Need anything else be said? Short 'n sweet. YES
  2. A short and sweet arrangement of an originally classic tune. When the mix ended, I was like "Uh... What? It's over?". Oh well, what can you expect from a mix of this length? This mix quite smooth and soothing. Nice dynamics - Nice use of panning, reverb, and delay. Very catchy melody - AGH, I can't stop listening to it... It's taking me over. Me likes. YES.
  3. The percussion is the first thing I notice - Nothing fantastic about - Just a repetitive basic latin drumbeat. I mean, it's not horrible, but what comes soon after is quite that. Thix mix lacks dynamics - The percussion is the only thing panned, and not even all of it is realisticly done so. Though, this mix does boast with a catchy melody - Just doesn't cut it. NO
  4. I feel dirty doing this, but I'm submitting my Final Fantasy 4 ReMix I just completed. It's an on/off project I've been working on for over a month. Damn school gets in the way Thanks. UPDATE: I've noticed a few minor errors I feel uneasy having in a final release in the current release you may have. The link is down until further notice. I'll get a fixed version up ASAP. UPDATE #2: Just uploaded an updated version I just mastered. Changed a few things around. Sorry for the inconvenience, but I feel more confident about this release. UPDATE #3: Mustin noticed that the NES part was off-key. He helped me resolve the problem, and it sounds 87x better. Thanks to Mustin. (Reuploaded, Heh...)
  5. Okay. This is WHACKY. Absolutely WHACKY. The problem is that this is so not funny, that it's hilarious. Weird how that is, eh? The music is catchy, though... Eh... YES
  6. I cannot bring myself to say a single bad thing about this mix. It's VERY well done - Starblaze did an excellent job arranging and orchestrating this tune. Nice dynamics, perfect amount of reverberations, and nice delays. Congrats, StarBlaze. YES
  7. Doesn't stray off from the original at all - Only sounds like the original with GM soundset usage (which isn't very shabby.) NO.
  8. Oooh, more Mega Man. I don't think one could ever have too much Mega Man. Just a few concerns with this mix - There is a lack of low-end. Not enough driving force pushing the mix forward. This regards the rather weak drum track, also. Also, periodically throughout the mix, it just feels like there is just a bit too much reverb. The Wingless also shows a keen knowledge of the power of panning. Works out great, in the most part. Makes up for the "bad" parts of the mix. YES.
  9. Wow. Excellent dynamics. Drums aren't as poweful as they should be for such a genre... Though, it all works out great. Just the inner-percussionist within me speaking. YES.
  10. First things first - The initial piano is not exactly mixed very well. There is some major clipping, which turned initially turned me off. Though, the later parts in the mix particulary grew on me. Slight clipping at about 1:56 - 1:57. The transition right there is harsh, but I like the instant dropoff. At 2:28, it sounds like an entirely different tune to me. Throws me off, and it just starts up after a short period of silence. More clipping here and there - And there is a lack of low-end throughout the entire mix. With better mixing, this arrangement would definitely deserve a yes. NO
  11. This is a beautiful arrangement - THOUGH, the dynamic atmosphere of the mix is not something that is very beautiful itself. The dirty samples panned hard left and hard right don't work very well. My suggestion would be to use some reverb (But not too much) to give it some atmosphere. Starting at about 1:49, though, I really enjoy this mix. It's absolutely stunning. If only the entire mix was of this quality, though. Try fixing up the first minute and 49 seconds. NO.
  12. Ugh - The voice usage is mediocre, and the mixing is painfully not good. Just gets extremely obnoxious after so long. Though, there is an obvious lack of Space Channel 5 ReMixage - As m68030 stated, this mix resembles the actual gameplay quite a bit. I'm torn on this decision - Maybe with better mixing, a yes would be rewarded. Though, it's a NO until I can painlessly listen to this.
  13. Oooh, yes, smooth sexy arrangement of a tune I just absolutely love. Nice panning, nice atmosphere, nice effects, nice arrangement. Puts me in one of those deep states of trance. No way I can no to this. Just too beautiful. YES
  14. The long intro isn't something that I exactly desire listening to. That piano sample is so overused (Listen to anything by Dj_StarChild). I can't hold that against him, though. Other than that, this is a nicely put together mix - Nice usage of panning and delay effects. Thumbs up for writing this all without having the ability to save (Ugh... FruityLoops...). Cool stuff here - Definitely something different. Nice to have some variety. I can't exactly place this under a specific genre of music. YES
  15. HAH, yes, this mix is so happy! I love the whole lo-fi sample usage here - Poobslag did an excellent job mixing it all together. My only concern is the lack of panning - It just jumbles things together, and makes it less pleasurable to listen to. Regardless, this is a nicely put together mix using only lo-fi samples. Nostalgia has overcome me... YES
  16. I've too had this since it was posted on RPGamer. This arrangement just brings a smile to my face. Lots of dynamic variation here. It's a little weird how the main lead is panned hard right, though... Not something major enough to stop a mix this amazing to be halted at the judges. YES.
  17. Haha, wow, those sound effects just bring smiles to my faces. They're hilarious (in a good way) for some reason. They're just totally cool. On the other hand, this ending isn't too shabby - Overall, this is a pretty cool mix. The sound effects are just too rad. YES.
  18. This mix has a MASSIVE amount of potential - Only problem is that it is just too short. I loved what I was hearing, but it just cuts off prematurely. Expand it, and I'd say yes. Though, its length leaves something to be desired. NO.
  19. The first listen I got of this mix, my head started pounding. Yes, in a bad way. This mix hurts, and it hurts all the way through. Definitely something different, THOUGH, it never changes. It's the same painful occurances over and over. NO.
  20. Aghhh! So many Final Fantasy 6 mixes! Just to let you folks know, OC ReMix has high standards, and even more so for games that have been done to death. This is a great atmospheric mix, though a bit simplistic rearrangement-wise. This may be out of line, but I felt that the official Mystic Forest piano arrangement off of the Final Fantasy 6 Piano Collection soundtrack was nicer arrangement of such a beautiful and emotional original tune. I'm truely torn on this decision, but a YES. OC ReMix shows an abundance of FF6 ReMixes, but a definite lack of piano arrangements. And this piano arrangement was particulary pulled off just great.
  21. This mix jumps around to several different ideas, and Suzumebachi does a pretty good job at it IMHO. For the most part, the mix sounds great to me. Though, the ending is something one would definitely not expect. One aspect I particularly like is the implementation of the beautiful orchestral strings. The distorted drums are pretty cool, too. Definitely something different, and I respect that. YES.
  22. Wow, this mix is absolutely beautiful. There's nothing really bad I can say about it. The atmosphere is excellent, and I dig the panning beyond words. The piano is a bit sketchy at high notes, but there's not much one can do about that without it being an absolute waste of time. Definitely a YES without hesitation.
  23. All I can say is wow - The intro totally lured me into this mix. Love how the mix contrasts itself from the beginning to only 30 seconds in. And, at 2:00, I just totally love how the choir mixes in so nicely with the energetic electronica instruments. This mix is totally different than anything else I've heard. Definitely a YES without a single doubt.
  24. Took a while to download - Regardless, the beginning ambience really grabbed me. I totally dig the left to right slide panning of the strings. It works so well together, minus the drums. Never pan the snare and/or kick to a channel other than center unless it's an effectual thing. It totally threw me off (hi-hat panning is fantastic, though). (This is only a drummer's pet peeve - Any normal listener wouldn't mind. Just a thought if you're going for anything close to realism.) This tune grew on me, though, after listening to it a few times. All in all, this is a greatly put together mix. Take my suggestions into account for next time, though, as I give this a YES.
  25. Interesting choices for percussion here - Definitely something different. Though, doesn't stray far from the original. Never really builds anywhere, and the percussion doesn't have anything interesting happen with it - The same thing repeating over and over. The speedy crystal rhodes from 0:54 to 1:17 is pretty cool, though. All in all, a YES - Definitely sounds like something that'd be tracked back in 1999. And the percussion is just totally different. Not anything conventional here.
