  1. So is it a pencil and paper rpg system where there are tools to play online? I mean like designing characters and leveling them or whatever they use in this game can be done online? It looks like the idea is a customizable D&D sort of game with tools to make all that calulation stuff (that eventually turns the game into just a bunch of numbers) quick and virtually invisable. Potentially really cool, but also potentially really lame.
  2. YES! Peach is confirmed. I was only very slightly worried.
  3. I approve, though I don't think Schala really needed another revisting. It's a great mix all the same.
  4. Are those results still isted anywhere? I'd like to see that poll, and how it turned out.
  5. That doesn't make any sense, as you'd be jumping off of something rather than just on air. EDIT - Well I guess jumping off air doesn't really make sense either.
  6. Game-play mechanic update... YES! Glad this going to be a REAL update to smash brothers and not just a bunch of polish and extra features and balancing. I mean I love smash brothers, but new mechanics are a must to keep the game from just being melee 2.0
  7. He'll probably do another little flutter whenever he's in the air and fires and egg. What I want to know is this: In Melee, Yoshi could use his up+b multiple times in the air because it wasn't actually a third jump. Will Yoshi be restricted to a single toss per jump this time around because it will help him recover?
  8. Now here's a crazy idea. Maybe items could be on during competitions. Or better yet, Nintendo is trying to make a fun game and sees the Smash Brothers tournament as a form of play that uses their game like a mod and not the pure or true Smash Brothers because some grass-roots fan community seems to think so.
  9. THe best thing about the daily updates is that it gives people something to speculate over and then gives them something new so we don't keep going off on a tangent based on our own speculation.
  10. If there's an obvious give away about new content it's on the musicians page. I mean all the stages in smash brothers have either been generic Nintendo related (like the super mario world stages) or related to a specific character. Also note that each stage usually has music relating to its theme (like Hyrule castle having music from Zelda games.) And all the musicians listed were asked to do arrangements from their favorite tunes. So look at that page again. Notice this: Why include music from nights unless there is going to be a board dedicated to a Nights' theme? Perhaps it's an alternate music track, like some boards in melee had. However, even then that was often to compensate for extra characters who needed to have their music somewhere but didn't get to have their own board (see Fire Emblem). This means there should be at least some Sega presence in Brawl. THough i haven't bothered to read every page in this thread, so someone else may have pointed this out before me.
  11. Bingo. That's in the caverns underneath the mansion too if that helps.
  12. Used to have comics, trading cards, strategy sections on games people actually played (not games they were trying to push on you), but not anymore. Never got demo disks like the other official magazines. The internet makes information so available that the magazine always has dated news. I can see why it'd go.
  13. Hey Joker. You mind posting the lyrics of the ambient vocals? They're hard to understand at certain points. Awesome mix btw.
  14. Ignore the high score for hard mode. That's my roomate who hacked the game to give him more money at the start. Cheater. I love the fact that you can enter groups to see how you rank compared to your friends. BEST SCORE at SUNY IT! That's right! Well, other than my cheating roomate. Note, I'm talking about DTD
  15. But why are the New Age Hippies also retro?
  16. I hate it so much that I love it. As a huge Castlevania fan who hates DDR I think you just killed me a little inside.
  17. sorry for all the acronyms. Final Fantasy 6 was supposedly released today on the game boy advance. I'm snowed in. Anyone tried it? Is it better than the old super nintendo version I'm used to?
  18. Fact. Unless you have the multi-tap adapter, in which case 3 player Secret of Mana so wins.
  19. I totally care about graphics. And by graphics I mean cleaner animation and less clipping. Higher resolution = better graphics? If that's the case then slide shows have AMAZING graphics. Look at that realism! I'm actually very disappointed that the 360 and PS3 support HD. By supporting HD so much processing power is being used to render more pixels. And if you've got it hooked up to a standard TV, the system will still be wasting that power to render the images in HD, even though you don't get to see them. I was hoping to finally be through with half assed animation for everything but controllable characters, or maybe some non-super-shiny reflective surfaces. It looks like I'm just going to get more of Square's pretty cut-scenes, only now in a higher resolution.
  20. This one? Entered in the Dwelling of Duels competition, came 6th.. if there is any difference at all, it's miniscule (mastering, sample changes). Dwelling Duels weights big vibrato and long mixes too much. The Twelfth Commandment is awesome. Also the name of the mix is great.
  21. I felt like the difference in volume was a bit too much. But other than the issue with the dynamics, I'd say an all around good remix.
  22. So wait. Nintendo can sell Rare to Microsoft, and Microsoft will still let Rare make games for them? Sounds like they hit the jackpot with that deal.
  23. As I was watching the video I kept thinking, "Wow this looks awesome, but that music is way too over the top." Now that I know who composed it I understand. Oh well, I guess I can always play SSBB with the music turned down.
