i read somewhere that some of the newer games could use the hard drive in a PS2's expansion bay to significantly reduce loading times. is this true? specifically, i'm talking about GOW1 and 2, FFX, FFXII, KH1, KH2, and shadow of the colossus.

i believe he's talking about the 'digital out' settings. does that change the image? the y cb thing just means that you're using true component cables, last time i checked. RGB is for VGA cables with an adapter, or scart input with PAL systems. i was wondering this, too, i just bought a ps2 a little while ago. edit: what game was it? there are a lot of ps2 games that didn't use AA, thus rendering the visuals to look like ass on a tv that doesn't blur everything together.

again, just like the last 64-bit OS question, you're completely wrong. no 32-bit computer can actually access all 4 gigs due to video ram and addressing problems within the x86 architecture. do you really do system troubleshooting? i'd be surprised since you really don't know what you're talking about beyond the 'lol i use computers' phase.

i don't know if anyone here visits this, but lifehacker generally has a 'featured desktop' article occasionally. search the tags. they always tell how to do it. there's some really awesome ones, and they're invariablely all done using free programs like rainlendar, rainmeter 2, speedfan, and cd art display.

whoops, good call. took out a few ps2 games i've bought as well. anything to save a few characters =) edit: how many characters is the max in this setup? we're at 13,600 or so including spaces, 11,800 without them. i thought it was a 10k limit for characters.

the tech from DNA - if they ever get it working properly - will help when it's only one instrument (which is how it works in every demo i've ever heard), but i don't know if there will ever be a way to do, say, a string quartet. you'd think it'd be easier, but i guess it's not.

man, these threads pop up so often. you'd think that since it's the same five or six people that comprise most of their posts that they'd chill out by now. kfc hates everyone and left. gl moved on, as did disco dan. hell, most everyone that didn't die and rarely posts here anymore just plain moved on with life, and don't do stuff like this anymore. they're too busy being 'real people'. overrated, in my book =) who was it that had a forklift run over their arm or something and crush it? was that kfc? i thought it was a guitarist, but i don't remember.
