  1. i did a track that was a demo for a wintery level on a to-be video game that fell through...i should put it in as an 'interlude' for this as well.
  2. wait, 85 celsius? that would fry any desktop processor. and xp's temps are way better...but that's the one that's freezing. let orthos run all night and tell me what happens. i usually do 8 hours on a stresstest when i'm burning in a computer.
  3. i picked this up as soon as i saw it, and as usual is excellent. nice work! do you think you'd ever do a chill/ambient set?
  4. wait, tekken has a storyline? or are they just going to punch each other for two hours?
  5. it'd probably take less time, too =) i'll contribute if we decide to actually do something - i'll either re-record my track from last year or do a new one. i've had 'mary did you know' and 'breath of heaven' on my mind lately, but i'd need a female vocalist for the latter.
  6. i'd definitely use a chrono cross avatar if there was one...but that would mean giving up the mage that's lasted me since i was in high school. dunno if i can do that...
  7. whoops, i'm not that familiar with the hl universe...sorry guys! i thought he meant garry's mod.
  8. this just showed up on slashdot. expect the /. effect to take place in the next half an hour or so.
  9. garry's mod? you've gotta buy that seperately from orange box, don't you?
  10. steam is a windows app that functions as a user interface, game distribution platform, and in-game chat and friends list. it's free - download it and check it out at steampowered. games generally cost a bit less and valve is known for their customer support and having fun with promotions...and you can buy old pc games for stupid cheap. beyond that, updated.
  11. updated as such. yo, abadoss, still want hl:2? cause, last time i checked, steam was offering a big deal on them in honor of the birthday of hl:1, i think.
  12. what systems are those for?
  13. thought that said magnetically released, and i wasn't really sure what you were talking about.
  14. when you've got that typed up, sobou, i'll post it. just format it right...that'd take forever for me to add in all the research =) this list is updated as of now.
  15. i know. i was more amazed that he only needed one to make it - he didn't even have to trash the first one and go with a second to get a more permanent layout.
  16. this is a good idea...too bad i'm the worst artist on the planet.
  17. ooooh, that stinks. in general, audacity can run any type of audio in and out the program, because of the nature of how it handles it (generally converts it to standard 16-bit wave before it allows playback) - so as long as you can open it, you can play it. the only thing that it won't touch are copyrighted mp3s, as far as i've been able to see. it just is like 10 seconds of maxed out noise then.
  18. someone made a 360 arcade controller - with triggers and all - for this game specifically. and he put it in a PIZZA BOX?!?
  19. i guess i'm missing the point here - why not have one lossless (flac, not wave...there's no question there) torrent and one at 192? because of that ONE audio smudge that might happen? it saves space, it saves time, and everyone's happy. it's a little extra space to let the files sit in the original download folder, but it saves a LOT of time in the end (particularly if people seed properly).
  20. this is possibly the funniest thing i've seen in a long time. i'm sure it'd get old quick, but this looks hilarious. just as good as fishy's boss n*gger youtube he posted here a while back. *note - i'm not racist, i promise
  21. used to be falchion39, but realized that numbers = nub. just look him up.
  22. whoops, sorry alexis, i'll do better next time [/sArCaSm]
  23. try reinstalling your audio drivers. uninstall it, restart, reinstall it, restart. i know xp sp3 has a problem with hi-def audio exporting, but that shouldn't be an issue that'd cause this. this likely won't fix it, but it's worth a shot. of course, if some program you installed at some point installed a driver for 32-bit audio (i doubt you're having an issue with 16 or 24 floating...and do these drivers even exist? i was under the impression that it's a hardware thing, not a software thing), and then when you reloaded windows you didn't reinstall that driver, that'd explain it. can you import the files in audacity? if so, just re-encode them as whatever wave your computer can handle. or, try converting them with something like audiomove. note that i didn't know anything about different formats of wave files, and i got everything in this post from this webpage. the second and third responses, actually. i know you're a busy guy, man, but you've gotta remember to do your own research before asking other people, particularly on a forum where most of the people are high schoolers that don't know much beyond FL's presets. i know it's easier, but you've been around a while and should probably know better =) you're still awesome, man. now, since i'm really shooting from the hip, there's a good chance i'm wrong about what i've told you, so make sure you don't delete your source until you're sure it works =)
  24. one gig total? just buy more ram - 4 gigs of ddr2 800 is like 40 bucks currently. don't try and hack it with only a gig, you're going to run out every time you try something new.
  25. eggu-pegg-degg-ated (anyone know egg language?)
