  1. As for Nero, I think at least his story was tragic. They really couldn't do too much unless they put his side of the story, adding some 10-20 minutes onto an already lengthy movie. A bit strange that a silly mining vessel could take out some 19 Klingon Warbirds and 6 Starfleet vessels. Isn't that Borg territory?... And as for plot twists and some plotholes, I think it's pretty much typical Star Trek. Even for the red goo... typical crazy "Vulcans did it" plot device.
  2. Yeah, it has a story, though it feels a lot more like Manabi Straight with the overall goal in place and the slice of life drama taking place. Watching the more recent episodes, Kyoto Animation did a really great job of it. The feel of the comedy just feels so natural. And yeah, the ED is excellent girls-band video.
  3. Which is why the overtly grouchy review by Ebert is just off the mark. It's probably going to make millions of Star Trek fans within the week. That's probably the entire reason why they made it. Unlike Ebert saying how good the old, nostalgic ways of filmmaking is, yadda yadda.
  4. At least 00 season 2 had some incredible action. Otherwise, it tried to copy too much from the overtly angsty Zeta, so the end result is more dead-end angst. The movie can redeem things because it'll probably move forward in the overall story and maybe even try something new. As for the best shows right now... K-On is pretty good, but maybe a bit cliche with all the girls-having-fun-at-school theme. But Phantom- Requiem for the Phantom is seriously good. Though that title sounds redundant..
  5. Wow. So Katawa Shoujo is featured in one of the biggest fan hentai-translation sites out there: http://www.fakku.net/ Quite the accomplishment. Especially considering I thought the project was an utter joke at first. I'm actually still pretty skeptical.
  6. Can't... wait.... I hope to be in the matinee to beat all those annoying kids. I hope there's plenty of nerds so that they can shut up and watch.
  7. Or getting a full fist of oldschool 'discipline' going their way. And girls all being treated like house-wives-to-be.
  8. I'm still surprised people can actually stomach the inane dialog in Zeta and the worst teenage angst I've ever seen in any medium in my lifetime. It's seriously that bad.
  9. IMO 00 held up better overall than many Gundam shows, but the movie sequel IS coming out. I think they could've done more with the drama on Earth rather than go all Star Wars on us all the time. At least it didn't get long in the tooth like the original series did at around Zeta.
  10. To me, it's only a bit overhyped simply because I beat it at least 20 times. At least 4 times from level 0.. That said, it's all about High Definition gaming for me. Thankfully, the 360 has a ton and the PS3 will have a few more soon.
  11. Then break it on purpose. lol. Put a towel over it, covering the fan-outputs tightly and run it for a day. They won't know if you did it intentionally or not since the cause of overheating is the same. Then send it ASAP to UPS. And write a polite little letter asking for "Jasper please!" As for installing, it's a nice option, though the drives having 20GB or even 60GB doesn't cut it. You really need that expensive 160GB option to really get into installing games.
  12. 1 week is pretty fast ; Mine took about 2 weeks since the UPS mailing. I'm sort of glad that my 360 broke down so spectacularly because Microsoft sent me an awesome new Jasper 360 that runs SILENTLY. It's really incredible. None of the loud console noise, the fan noise, none of it. I hear that you have to pull your teeth to get a new console if something like that ever happens to my Wii. I'm glad Microsoft is so eager to please and replace. Even if the whole process took me almost a month because of the box fiasco.
  13. You do learn a lot more if you fight someone who is of even skill level and you get to rematch them so you keep adapting to their tactics. It also helps if they don't always play Ryu or Ken 100% of the time, so you can try all sorts of different tactics rather than fighting all the random Kens online.
  14. I guess their website was a bit slow in adapting. And I wasn't notified officially.
  15. What club? You mean the latest one where Sylar had to catch the shapeshifter?
  16. Ugh. My RROD'd 360 is coming back since almost 1 month ago. Whenever you get an RROD, never trust Microsoft saying they're sending you a box. Just go to the UPS ASAP and get it over with. Dammit.
  17. Seth just looks absolutely crazy with the stuff he can do: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-gq35N7vanY And PoongKO (the Seth player) is known to take a lot of risks, but look what happens when he just plays a few tricks with Seth. Instant 40% damage.
  18. Yeah, but catching them flush is a gamble still. Blanka's is basically made to stuff jump-ins and do 100% of Ultra damage on them. And even if you whiff, the recovery on it is ridiculous. Just throw them, bite them, do whatever afterward. Balrog is rather vulnerable if he just sits there and does the full animation. Blanka's is relatively safe out of almost all the Ultras in the game. It's ironic because people used to think Blanka's is the worst Ultra and now it turns out it's one of the best and safest ones. It has like 3 or 4 different uses while most characters have maybe one or two uses.
  19. I have almost the total opposite opinion of that. You don't even need to combo Blanka's Ultra since it's an overhead/low combo in itself. It stuffs jump-ins 100%, and you can block as a Blanka even if enemy blocks it full. Balrog's isn't bad, but you MUST combo into it and it doesn't have the perks Blanka's has. You can just sit there doing Blanka's Ultra in close distance and expect to catch them or chip them away. Can't really do that with Balrog's.
  20. Blanka's Ultra is easier than Balrog's IMO. You basically back-crouch then waggle the stick to do it. These Ultras are too hard to do on the D-pad for either the PS3 and 360. And I speak from experience, unfortunately. Absolutely love playing it on the arcade stick in the arcades though.
  21. All I can say is, I know what I've seen and have done. I did finish about hundreds of rounds that way and trapped enemies FLUSH whenever they tried jump kicking me. To me, this isn't even an argument. I know how it works. If you rather want to trust some SRK expert, then go ahead. I don't care if people don't trust me when I KNOW for certain it works. I honestly am dumbfounded by the 'no hitbox' statement since that only is a problem when you're starting the Ultra and the enemy has since landed on the ground, waiting to counter. I'm talking about people IN THE AIR, getting caught. To me, this is like stating a fact. I don't know what to say after this.
  22. What I saw from that video is someone waiting with an anti air special move. It's not quite the same as someone jumping into it. It IS risky if they're camping it out to interrupt with an anti air move like that. When I do it to juggle, it's usually when someone is in the process of attacking with their jump kicks coming in. That's basically no escape I see from that because of the armor breaking properties + higher priority. Not the same as someone interrupting it with a special. I think that player got the idea of the Ultra wrong. It's not safe when someone is lying in wait like that.
  23. It's not stupid because I probably won at least 100 rounds with Blanka using the Ultra as a chief anti air to jump-ins. Not countering specials, but those who jumps in with kicks. The initial upward attack knocks them in the air, then I can follow up with the forward movements. I honestly don't understand why you would say it's a bad move. I've been doing it hundreds of times. It is true that it works better as a punishing someone crouching and isn't blocking overhead, but taking enemies' jump-ins with the vertical movement of the Ultra does work. I'm not going into the theories here when I know it works for certain. It seems nobody is really trusting me in this thread, but I know what Blanka is capable of.
  24. I have a REALLY hard time finding Touhou full versions online for some reason. I think I have only three out of them all and all by really shady download sites..
  25. No duh on the EX ball. I thought you'd pick up on it instead of taking it literally =/ And I still say Blanka eats up Sagat so badly it's not even funny. They can almost never do the fireballs because Blanka can go right under and trip him all the time, charge up the super meter and you can basically punish them safely 100%, the Super/Ultra beats any jump-in attempts, and you can even stop an Ultra cold with a well placed electricity. Sagat matches up well with almost everyone except Blanka. I mean, I had a field day eating up Sagats with Blanka and I could tell they were pretty good Sagats too. Just knock them down when they're fireballing with a slide trip then crossover with the Rainbow Ball. It works EVERY time. And they can't do a damn thing about it. The only time it might get a bit troublesome is if they actually use focus attacks. Which is really, really rare. And the Blanka ball beats focus attack oriented moves almost all the time because it always breaks armor.
