  1. Yeah, I guess the Brotherhood would be a problem... I never thought about it since they were always allied with me.. so strange to think they'd be a mortal enemy. Also, making money by selling legit business (weapons, technology, map locations) to the good guys is a LOT of money. I think I just ran across my contacts, selling 10,000 caps worth of information and technology. Being good has its perks I guess. But those Talons can be nasty especially if they decide to ambush me all with Combat Shotguns. Instant death..
  2. I think the game actually is more challenging when you're a good guy, which is a bit backwards since most games ambush you all the time if you're evil. First run around, it's pretty challenging trying to save everyone and kill all Talons out there (so different from allying with them like some people have mentioned).
  3. I FINALLY finished the slave-group-escort mission and it was like hell on earth. Not only do the characters get stuck in potholes (JUST LIKE ME), but insanely tough enemies (like Yao Guai, Deathclaws, Supermutants with rockets) keeps ambushing them. Worse still, they sometimes ignore my 'stay here' command and they'd disappear if I ever sleep (in-game) to rest my character. The dog and a female bodyguard couldn't make it. RIP Four Scores.... Poor dog. Oh yeah, and RIP to my 7 hours of trying to beat the mission.
  4. Right now, the only thing to do is connect, disconnect, connect, etc etc. If you wait 20 seconds, then that means you should refresh.
  5. Cave Story is a Metroid ripoff that turned out to be better than most Metroid games. Basically Super Metroid > Cave Story > Maybe some Castlevanias > Every other Metroids. And I second DKC123. Those three games, I find myself playing more than Wii games themselves. That sounds sad, but that's just how great DKC games are.
  6. The finale was just an overflowing mass of flesh and blood and manliness. The entire campaign came off as hilarious. In a good way. Just such ridiculous action scenes.
  7. I really wish we don't see a 3D Metroid if a long time. Maybe until there's a Nintendo console that has actual high definition and actually does Metroid games justice as far as having cutting edge visuals go. It'd be amazing if Metroid has all the real-time-lighting and other amazing visuals games like Dead Space and other adventure-style FPS/TTPS games have. They should just go back to 2D where it's best. If they keep making 3D Metroids, it'll keep striving to be like other FPS games.
  8. GoW1 feels like a stroll through the park compared to this one. The online is amazing (any mode) as long as you can connect the stupid thing.
  9. No it doesn't. Modern consoles do FPS game more than enough justice nowadays. Also, aiming and the like really isn't the point of Fallout 3 anyway... I own Oblivion for the PC and mouse precision is never a factor since the game doesn't require it (yeah, I'm saying Fallout 3 is Oblivion with guns. It FACTUALLY is). Fallout 3 makes it even less relevant with the VATS system. Just get whatever is good for your budget. My PC has become obsolete and it probably won't even play Fallout 3 well anyway, and I don't regret the 360 version one bit. Actually it seems to have a fewer reported bugs (other than the Bush of Doom) than even the PC version.
  10. 8-hour max gameplay? Pretentious and asinine plot? Good thing the gameplay looks good. I guess it's as good as a rental. Speedrunning really isn't my kind of thing unless the game is called "Megaman".
  11. Needless to say, the next run-around (which is probably still 40 hours away for me at this rate of exploring EVERYTHING), I'm either going to personally kill Moira and/or let Megaton explode. Hate Moira.
  12. The game's biggest nemesis for me is the bush. You get stuck in it, you get sucked into it. Either that or a stray metal beam. Bethesda, learn real world physics please. It's amazing how often I seem to get stuck onto items.
  13. It looks more than fine actually. You are only going to get rid of the muddy textures if you have a high end PC. I don't. Despite my gripes with the animation and the ugly model types, the backgrounds sometimes look photorealistic. Looks amazing. I didn't say the community won't. I'm saying Bethesda was dismissive about it compared to the way they anticipated mods for Oblivion (like how the mod-feature was built in for the PC version of Oblivion).
  14. OR a 360. The demo looks incredible on the 360 too. I'm not sure I will buy it, but at the very least, looks like a very solid rental.
  15. Runner's high is incredible. There really is no high like it. You just have to be careful the high isn't interfering with actual physical problems though.
  16. Sony noisecancelling headphones or whatchamacallit. Sony headphones NEVER seems to break. While everything else of their music products seems to..
  17. Yeah, but the thing with cheese is that for only meager portions of it, you're getting a TON of sodium, fat and other things you don't need. Just about everything else, even chocolate, has more redeeming values per ounce than cheese as I see it. Even the types you sprinkle onto something, they usually add up to 200 calories even if it's just to cover a salad. Simply not worth it. And there really is no wonder each slice of pizza tends to go over 250 calories. Mostly thanks to the gratuitous cheese on top. I do agree with the calcium and other nutrients. It's not totally off the charts in regard to nutrition, but I just don't think it's worth it. It may taste good and is a natural ingredient for pizzas, tacos and such, but there really is no mystery why those foods packs on the calories. Like with the Fajitas, the type you'd normally eat at a restaurant in a single dish, it being almost 2000 calories is just scary. I'm not really in favor of food abstinence though. To me, the realistic way is to portion them more carefully, especially something like cheeses, carbs, chocolates and other risky foods because in no time, you're going over 200 calories in a few handfuls of food.
  18. Well, I can understand the whole 'fat doesn't always equal heart attack' argument. Though cheeses in general just have no nutritional value whatsoever. Even carbs have some value if you're exercising for example.
  19. I'm glad to see that the 360 version doesn't have as much going against it technically, even if it can't be modded. It's like the are focusing the games more and more on the console front. I hear they haven't even gave the thought the game might be modded on the PC.
  20. I think it's to do with the carbohydrates in the wheat-wraps, which like they keep saying, isn't healthy at all. I'm not surprised if carbs totally trump the calories that comes from chicken by comparison. And beef in Fajitas + all the sauce + the cheese probably does it. Also, if you go straight by the numbers, a one-person serving of Fajitas is easily 1000 calories each. And though 20 chicken nuggets is a lot of calories still, it somehow falls shorter than that. Cheese is a total killer in diets because they have sodium, have saturated fat and have way too many calories AND it has next to no nutritional value. As for 'healthier' aspect, there's less of the cheese and sodium in chicken nuggets by strict comparison. It's also easier to ration chicken nuggets. 5 nuggets, 10 nuggets, little sauce, lots of sauce, etc. With Fajitas, you'd expect to eat the whole thing in a single sitting since it's all on a plate or wrap. The actual numbers were: Fajitas- 1360 calories 20 Chicken nuggets with sauce - 1120 calories But yeah, if I wanted real healthy stuff, I'd skip it all and just grill a lean chicken and have it with salad.
  21. The sniping animation of the bullet flying in the air is so satisfying. The demos made it seem like it's an easy thing to do, but it's not. It's like one out of every 50 shots or something ridiculous like that. Also, it's weird to wield medieval swords to cleave people in half. So Oblivion-ish.
  22. I think it's a sandbox game if its own creators admit it as much. Yeah, GTA stories are nice and well written, but if it was a straight-edge action-adventure title, then I don't think it'd be as well received or be considered revolutionary. Imagine if GTA games were made up of levels. That'd be unthinkable.
  23. Isn't that a backward priority to games like sandbox games? You'd think they should have sandbox stuff down pat before getting to the story. I really wonder why they took all the fun stuff they HAD in San Andreas and re-did it. Everybody said downloadable content would put the fun back in and yet 2008 is almost over and DLC isn't coming out yet.
  24. Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. Don't listen to people who say it's an easy way out. Cardio is cardio. If you're working your lungs and pumping blood and easing up your legs, then that is cardio too. Ellipticals are great since they can still exercise your legs with almost none of the impact of normal running. Bikes are the same story more or less.
  25. I think there can be ugly animations, but for the design, Japanese designs just look more pleasing to the eyes. Maybe it's because they worship Hollywood talent and base many character off of them and also have a huge character design culture with the anime and manga talent making a lot of character designs for videogames. I think Western developers worry too much about the the spartan, utilitarian character designs that end up looking flat and uninspired for the most part. And in many cases, just flat out ugly. Japanese character designs can be over-produced too, but I'd rather have something eye catching than the blobs we see often in western games. But I just think it's a bit worse in Bethesda than in something like BioWare. But even Mass Effect had pretty wonky animation (most of them in the battles), even though that game had great character designs.
