  1. I'm intrigued by the idea of 'Giant Firebats'. As if they weren't scary already, make them even scarier!
  2. I thought SO3 was actually very good, if very rough in the edges and with a story that shot itself in the foot after the crazy alien attack.
  3. I love the old TMNT era, but let the old dog die already. Games, TV shows, movies, all of them. The comic book was a crap-shoot that was never expected to make it big.
  4. The CPU is still evil, brutal, lucky, merciless, etc.
  5. They need to bring back the 1UP show while they're at it..
  6. People make a big deal over the director and screenplay being heavily influenced or even being directly collaborated by the Cowboy Bebop production crew, but I think that could be a mistake. Most Asia-to-America transitions have failed horribly even when they included the direct help from directors and writers of the former shows and movies. The only MAJOR exception to the rule was The Departed, which had a massive Bostonian overhaul to the original Hong Kong theme.
  7. For me, only BoomBlox and a TON of old Sega games for the VC are worth mentioning. Only if BoomBlox was for the 360 or PSN where people can easily access online play with it. It plays like the type of game you can just mess around with and still have fun with it. Speaking of DS Megaman games, I thought they were both pretty good and worth the purchase. People rat on the series for getting too complex, but in the end, it's still the same Megaman and it's the same crew that made the acclaimed Megaman 9. Well, paying $35+ for a handheld Megaman might seem much, but if you can find it in bargain bins, I think it's worth it.
  8. Wow. Hollywood and its weird fads again. Horrible anime transitions now? I guess at least it'd be worth a laugh unlike the four or five DOG movies in the past few months. Hollywoods and fads. ugh.
  9. They need to make a Zelda game in which Link can actually die. I swear I haven't died in a Zelda game in years now.
  10. Umihara Kawase is very fun and very nerd-core (meaning, only a small percentage of gaming geeks probably know it even exists), but it's also incredibly difficult. Probably the most difficult free-grapple-system game out there.
  11. Considering all that corporate pushing bullshit, I wonder how they were able to produce the GBA and DS 2D Sonic games. Also, it's little wonder that their recent Phantasy Star games are just awful and reach for the innovation of the original Phantasy Star Online. It's just really sad fall from grace.
  12. Ew. Boo. The webcast was just incredible and so was the down-to-earth conversations they had. Remember when EGM magazines were monstrous 300+ page beasts? It's so sad. In a way, I feel the same way for TV as well. The traditional stuff is all out because of the flailing economy and the way the internet is dominating everything. Anyway, my last hope now is ironically, an anime-fans' take on videogaming: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/the-x-button/2009-01-07 I think these few events are just sad for the gaming community as a whole really.
  13. 1UP.com IS EGM. And its weekly video blog is just amazing piece of gaming journalism. Maybe one of the best. At least better than the cliquey GameTrailers shows.
  14. I found out that up-and-close shotgun with high critical rate did the job. But still. Those things are so dangerous. Instant death if they manage to gang up.
  15. Shenmue 2 sorta works, but its music loops over and over again or doesn't play. Shenmue 2 was slightly buggy for the old Xbox as well, and it only got a bit more buggy on the 360.
  16. I officially hate this game for having an entire city of Death Claws. An ENTIRE city of them.
  17. They finally patched Castle Crashers after months of it being so buggy, online play was unplayable. I guess it's time to see if it actually works now.
  18. I played MGS1 20 times (Crazy, but speedrunning does that), MGS2 10 times (got fed up with the RETARDED story, but it was fun), MGS3 30 times (Came close to a 2-hour run. So many more tricks to pull off in the game than any MGS game it seels). And I want to play MGS4 20 times too. As for the video, it had its moments. But it felt like every other celebrity who wants to get in on the YOUTUBE ACTIONZ.
  19. That's only from what I've been hearing. 360 has its share of buggy games, but I just keep hearing more about the PS3 ones. LBP one is just one little example of it. Then there's the Fallout 3 bugs (which has since been stealth-patched. Maybe the 360 one too, since I can't get stuck in bushes anymore it seems). Strictly speaking of memory problems, that usually falls into the category for the 360 where people switch Game IDs. As for the PS3, there's some truly infamous ones like Motorstorm game save corrupter. I'm pretty sure they have fixed it by now, but that was a big one.
  20. Eh, compared to losing THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS of RPG data because the internal battery died out or because the dust settled in too long in the memory card or because the space is so small that some idiot friend/sibling deleted over it, I'd have the hard drive saves with all the little bugs and shit. And I'm genuinely sorry for PS3 owners in that regard, because I keep hearing epic save-data-deletes from a lot of buggy PS3 games. Seriously, is it really THAT hard to program for the PS3? It's like with every other PS3 game, there's graphical glitches, online problems and save-game-deletion. I agree that the moving of sign-up-accounts for Xbox360 is still a bit problematic, though entire save spots don't habit of disappearing.
  21. For some reason, the latter bosses barely had the chance to touch my characters. Maybe grinding three or four times more than I needed to did it... And getting ultimate Personas left and right in the middle of Summer..
  22. Not FFXII for me. More like FFT or something like that. There's the typical Sakimoto-style stuff in there. But for me, Valkyria Chronicle OST is by far his best work since FFT.
  23. I really wanted to get that expansion pack, but I decided to save it for the Street Fighter 4 Collector's Edition. That Teddy bear (lulzpun) actually looks pretty good.
  24. I loved Disgaea and even Phantom Brave, but it seems every Nippon Ichi release nowadays pisses me off. They're content to stay back and nowadays their quality resembles fan-made, doujin games in Comiket. It's become a bit ridiculous.
  25. Spare yourself any heartache and do not buy the Disgaea game for the PS3. I saw it being played by a game-maniac I know, and it looked like a Playstation 1 game. It's just not excusable for a PS3 title. I liked what little I saw of the new Tomb Raider (though it's available for 360) game and the Drake Fortune game though.
