  1. Also the combined infernal demon summon was fantastic. Also unlocking Jeanne was pretty annoying cause getting platinum on the motorcycle/missile levels was not easy.
  2. Tensei, I personally think you're over doing it to an extent as well. You mentioned checking things as you're heading back to base. I don' think that adds to APM but is the right hting to do. Also the other thing to do is that if you know enough about the battlefield you can also be checking other lanes and enemy items as you're laning or even as your entering a gank situation. I can't state for sure because I haven't played with you in forever. Also, zircon, YES! Those were my exact first thoughts when I saw that line in the changelog. I used to love Pudge in Pudge Wars, a little minigame based solely on hooking people but hated playing him in an actual game because of the very reasons you stated.
  3. Jeanne: Legit Unlocked. She's not easy to play as. Can only activate WT when you dodge at the Bat Within timing. Much much smaller window. I like how they did sequential characters like they did back with Viewtiful Joe.
  4. Because it -was- hilarious. Wait until you see a TA on Joy, haha. Also I just took way too much time getting Platinum on Chapter V. Stupid insta-death if you fall off a ledge on Jormugandr's tower owned me since I kept trying to speed through it.
  5. It gets worse once you get access to Panther transformation. Upon double tapping the doge button you will change forms. What you should take away from this is don't spam buttons and get your timing down which you mentioned. Also there is an accessory for parrying/countering called the Moon of [Long name I can't remember].
  6. Torchlight has a lot going for it and in a vacuum I'd love it but when comparing it to what else I could be playing (within the genre or not) it just doesn't stack up.
  7. ITT great examples of how to muck up a thread.
  8. She's honestly the one hero I wanted to be playable again. I always tried to play with her but I could only reliably be any threat if the other team was void of any high Str heroes.
  9. More Slither? Buff to Swiftblade when I personally don't think he needed one? Carry Hellbringer?! I think I'll enjoy this patch when I return, haha.
  10. So how do the new balance changes feel? Am I in for like a huge shock when I come back or is it a lot of hype for nothing?
  11. As a spiritual successor to the DMC series and an action game this is probably going to be the best one out there for years. No game does action like this. The combat is smooth and fluid and you actually have to know what you're doing to look good (unlike games like God of War where half of it is done for you). Do note, however, that this game is actually difficult. You are capable of toning it down if that's your thing so don't worry so much about that. Also you're able to put the game on "Automatic" which effectively means you can do combos and dodges all with a single button. This game is quite accessible to players of all skill levels but only those who are good at these very precise twitchy kind of games will truly appreciate how solid the combat is. As for the story and the noise surrounding it: it's all tongue-in-cheek humor. Yes, she is overly sexually charged. Yes, she's English and may resemble a librarian. But that's the point. The entire game's story plays like a B movie action flick (or alternatively, like porn). Not a lot of fluff. Just action, eye candy, and in this case a boatload of references to other games the creators have made. You just need to be open minded enough to accept that this game doesn't take itself so seriously and neither should you. This game is about the gameplay and being ridiculously awesome for the hell of it. Also as for why people once they come to know the characters can accept that Bayonetta is an excellent lead where others are not: She's self respecting and doesn't take shit from anyone. She's not overtly sexual for the sake that stronger armor means less clothing but because that's just who she is. It's well done is only really insulting if you never give it a chance. This game deserves to be played no matter what system you own. If you do own both then definitely the 360 over the PS3 version. You get twice the frames per second, less slowdown, and the load times are nice and short even without installing it to your hard drive.
  12. I'll be back to play eventually, Tensei! As I type this I'm sitting in my hotel room in NC for my interview at Duke tomorrow morning. I'll be back next month I promise!
  13. Holy shit hook is always max range from level 1. Best noob killer ever!
  14. Nice. So does this mean that when we all play you won't overbalance against me anymore? By the way I haven't been on and probably won't be on until next month because of time going into med school interviews.
  15. I will help you guys out as much as possible in terms of giving you proper strategy and even training you guys in fighting a tough 1v1 lane or even practicing taking advantage in a 1v2 lane and stuff like that but I myself won't compete. I want to stay under the HoN radar and avoid joining any teams cause I don't want that from my playing.
  16. Also huge base damage means you get to harass really well. Also at level 6 it's a guaranteed kill at mid or awesome gank in a sidelane. And by then if you played your cards right you pretty much have your radiance already.
  17. Ack! How could I forget?! No, you're definitely right, Dhsu. After you get either invis or bkb to stop people from breaking your ult, you get SotM to make it a triple shot w/bouncing so it does TONS of damage.
  18. :bows: Like I said, I at least give some thought to the modes. The first was: These guys need a place to play sans drama sans the option of sticking with the same heroes every time. Also for most heroes I hate SotM. Only ones that come to mind where I like it are Hag, Polly, Pharoah, and Andromeda but even then only Hag (maybe Polly) should be getting it every time.
  19. [Very] Quick Witch Slayer (Lion) Guide Skills: 1 Stun 2 Drain 3 Stun 4 Drain 5 Stun 6 Ult 7 Stun 8 Mini 9 Mini 10 Mini 11 Ult 12 Mini 13-15 Stats 16 Ult 17-23 Stats 24-25 Drain Items: Any of the boots are solid choices and have their roles to play. You'll benefit greatly from Kuldra though 'nado stick is a cheap alternative. Codex for the pubstomp. Nome's is fine if you're supporting. Ring of Sorcery for the team casting. There are lots of options as he's your typical caster type of hero. Early game it's all about Stun->Drain combo to keep their mana down. Then later it's about crowd control. Stun as many as possible. Minimize another. Kuldra or Nado another. Ult a weakened hero or a squishy one. Drain if you know that they barely have enough mana for their entire combo and losing a bit of it would own them. Like I said, lots of options.
  20. No I was attacking the heroes. You have to see it to understand. Also there's nothing wrong with backdoor like there is nothing wrong with attacking creeps behind tower. If they can't deal that's just too bad.
  21. Yeah I play MW2 a lot. I'll be getting on more often tho. Times have been more fun as of late. It's fine though. I made that statement for everyone not just you. Jade, for example, mentioned at how he had no idea. YES YES YES. I have the entire third floor of the library giving strange looks now as I laugh. And they didn't kill me every time either. This is one of the many genius tactical advantages to a carry Accursed. <3 diving like an idiot. It's a shame you got lucky and randomed Arachna. Without her I would have been a much bigger threat. Edit: Also new item reworks are AMAZING. Main issue is that I totally buy the whole Firebrand being used in Geometer's but it shouldn't be called that anymore. Should be called something fire-based because fire has been used for illusion techniques in other universes/stories.
  22. I love how my name isn't on that list and I'll bet it's due to the fact that my ingame name is not Zero. All of you usually just call me by Antigrav. Yeah, Zircon, you're misunderstanding Tensei. Also don't forget that some heroes just want to nuke creeps asap so they can just bounce lanes and maximize their farm time.
  23. I'm going to sidestep talking about drama because honestly I don't ever feel it anymore cause I'm confident in my own ability and I know that what happens in any particular game will stay there. Sure I'll yell if it gets really bad but whatever I get over it real fast. Maybe it's cause I'm capable of still farming well when under pressure and dying for dumb reasons? I don't know. Either way I always feel so perplexed when people rage over this game. As for learning new heroes: I personally do a trial by fire and just play the hero in a real game. Granted I know enough about the mechanics that I can see how a hero will play just by reading their skills and base stats. Only thing that I'm ever unsure of is the best item build but I usually can work out a solid one just by thinking about it.
  24. So my initial thoughts on Deadwood when he was just on paper are correct. He's a solid ganker/semi-carry but he shouldn't carry (but he can if you're good enough). 1st skill is pretty much taken straight from Admiral but has as slight pull to the center. Easy to use (for me, anyway) and a great ability. Overall a solid hero but has to be near a good patch of trees to do well. Find him in the river and he'll have to run away. Ult is too strong with a team-wide % reduction to HP. Even with a bunch of ganking going on I had a good 4 level lead and was a force in a bunch of team fights just because of how good my ult was.
  25. On the flip side I daresay I could still walk all over a good majority of the player base even I tried to lower my APM on purpose. That is to say, that it definitely doesn't make the player but it's much harder to be good with a low APM.
