Mono Pro is fun! You get to jump, right?
-
Ugh I really need to practice with the other modes. DVE was my first mode and really comes naturally to me. Dunno why but I never got the knack for Pusher. I really should.
-
Nice! So the video finished processing: Now the top elite score is higher than the top casual score like it's supposed to be haha. Also all of you should add me and start posting your Audiosurf names. I'm eternalzero if you haven't yet figure that out.
-
Video is currently processing but: http://www.audio-surf.com/song.php#4567411 Yeah, baby! I can only imagine if I got Match21. Clean Finish is near impossible for DVE so I don't usually worry 'bout it.
-
So DVPro is actually harder than DVE for me, haha. The extra side lanes make it harder for me to keep track of my right hand since I can't just flick my wrist back and forth. And yeah man. Looks like you have the interest. Make it so!
-
Oh. No. I'm eternalzero. I could go dethrone that dude if you want though, haha. Or at least try. I'm quite rusty. I think the only top score I'm really proud of was that I was/am the elite champ of Stickerbrush Symphony from Brawl. Or at least the version that was tagged like mine. That's also in my youtube videos.

So I took your suggestion and really thought it was fun. Decided to record my first trial run that managed to get 2nd in elite but nowhere near as high as the casual scores. I'll be trying again after I upload the video. It's been a while since I've done such things and it's fun. Edit: Here we go. Totally unedited sight reading run. It's obvious it isn't edited cause man I'd remove the beginning haha. Don't know how to embed vids here on OCR so if someone could teach me then I'll do that but for now that ought to do!

I like the idea of having another evolution. Gives a reason to go above level 60 other than that one odd move especially when battling can set your pokemon to level 100 anyway. I don't know about new type(s) but if anything I hope they go back and change some of the previous typings at the very least.
-
The idea was that if you are able to play the harder modes that give you higher scores then you had the advantage. We did do the occasional forced mode weeks but we wanted to let people play what they like to play.

We had weekly Audiosurf competitions on Remod for a while. Our format is that every competing member contributed a song and the person with the highest total score was the winner of the week. It eventually fell out of favor because it was clear that there were three of us who were much better than the rest. I do love this game, though. I think my biggest draw is that I can play Double Vision Elite quite well and usually my best scores are done with this mode.

It's not that the ending isn't handled well but that it is spoiler: an open ending so that's what speculation is about.

There are three ways to shift. 1) Shows each character shift individually - WORST 2) Shows only your main but your ATB is where you left it - BETTER 3) Shows only your main and your ATB is maxed out - BEST It is based on when within the attack animation you shift. Usually at the tail end of the attack. Perfect shift feels like it has a 10 frame window. Not too wide but when done consistently and shifting constantly after every filling of the ATB bar is necessary for some of the 5 stars on hunts.

More pointed help for the Phalanx fight: KILL THE PHALANX IT SUMMONS MORE DUDES. Seriously, it's imperative that you take care of that first. Run a Com/Syn/Med alternating with a Rav/Syn/Med to start building up chain while getting your buffs on. Once that's done switch to a Com/Rav/Med alternating with Rav/Rav/Med with the same logic. Get it to stagger then go Com/Rav/Rav to finish it. I personally used Lightning/Sazh/Vanille throughout the entire game (I'm pretty close to 100% completion at this point. Just have to redo a little more than a handful of mission) and this setup is how you deal with harder enemies. If possible focus on getting those perfect shifts so you get full ATB. Wean yourself off of using sols and summons. TP should be saved as your main "Oshit" option because a summon will refresh your team completely. What I loved about this game is that if you focus on your strategy and tactics you can win fights that should be impossible.
-
Aye that sucks dude. This is why I have 99 saves right now, haha. I never bothered to overwrite until forced. As for your situation: Focus on a single class per character and really plan your teams for each battle. Gotta man up and stop relying on the sols. Fight intelligently to get yourself out of that hole. I don't think the game is so unforgiving that it can't be done.
-
Yes. You definitely skipped a cutscene somewhere. Spoilers. Fang became Ragnarok. That's why her brand is all messed up and she lost her memory. Vanille just remembers it all and says she doesn't.

I think they are purely str. I don't have the guide so I can't be sure. Ravagers don't get the damage that commandos get. Also you need to be sure that the enemy doesn't half a resistance to the element. In general, unless your elemental strike is being boosted by a weakness it will do less than a commando strike. Also an en-[element] strike from a commando is more powerful than the strike but will contribute about half chain. Also damage isn't comparable when staggered. Commandos win almost every time.

Lightning really shines when you give her a maxed Imperial Armlet (20% Dmg reduction) or the best HP one (starts at 800 HP) whichever gives you a higher total effective HP. Same goes with Hope really. My favorite opener for Light/Sazh/Vanille is Com/Syn/Med and once all buffs are up switch to Com/Rav/Med then I have Rav/Rav/Sab for setting up a stagger with huge damage into a Com/Rav/Rav for maximum pain during stagger. Then Med/Syn/Sab for safely reapplying all buffs and debuffs lastly Med/Syn/Med to save my own ass. I rarely get less than 4 stars this way. I really like it. Only issue is that I feel Odin is a relatively weak summon. Also this is perfect for hunting Adamantoise cause I just switch my leader to Vanille and I already have the right Paradigm set I just make it the active one. I really want to use Snow and maybe Hope but I'm just so comfortable and confident in my current setup it's hard to change.
-
The largest draw to Lightning is that she is your most powerful and versatile physical ravager. She gets access to all elements up to -ra as well as all elemental strikes. Only Hope has as much versatility but defensive buffs aren't as good as Sazh's offensive buffs. Vanille completely outshines Fang as a saboteur. Fang is the best commando but not by a large margin. Lightning is just as good. Snow is your best sentinel but honestly I get along fine without one. Lightning makes a good evasive sentinel later on. And I'll mention saboteur again. They are amazing. They win so many fights and I consistently see 999,999 on a lot of enemies with Lightning's regular attack and I don't even have her weapons upgraded. My team is usually Lightning, Sazh, Vanille. Buffs, Debuffs, solid damage, great healing. A little on the frail side without a dedicated sentinel but I beat the main game with (almost) no issue and I've felled my fair share of Adamantoise.

This is how the game is intended and designed. Only reason to grind is if your strategies and tactics cannot surmount how much stronger the storyline enemies will be. Many of those fights are literally impossible and are harder than the final boss. Also along this same line of thinking: If you do not want to grind before the story is done then do not, I repeat, do not level any class that a character doesn't specialize in. It is a huge CP sink for little gain. Where a little less CP per orb will give you large numbers of stats on higher levels of a character's base class.

Yeah. Probably not going to see me playing HoN unless asked specifically or that patch comes out then.
