  1. So I haven't played this in a while due to BC2 and FF13. That patch come out yet?
  2. 5 hours in. This game is fantastic. I actually like all of the characters. Yes, even Vanille.
  3. The new sphere grid type thing is pretty good. Main issue is that if you pump enough EXP into it then you get everything which IIRC did not happen with the sphere grid system. Also the odd names are to set it apart from typical fantasy. I personally like it.
  4. Think you've got that backwards? Unless you want another blink+ult hero which is kind of dumb IMO? While I totally love Lanaya this metagame needs more Nerubian Assassin.
  5. Assuming pub player and/or barely functional enemy team: He couldn't catch all of them at once. Everyone except Scout can do something to halt a Chronos from outside the bubble.
  6. Beat me to it. Nicely done. Shame the remake was so bad.
  7. Boring. Also terribly grating voice acting. Combat is also a snore once you've fought few battles and "mastered" the very simple "strategy" elements. Don't waste your time.
  8. I, too, would be very interested. Especially since I have not been keeping up with the DotA changes. Also if we do I'd like to use the GArena client because I don't own legit WC3 copies.
  9. I get tablet pretty regularly nowadays. Ophelia, Blacksmith, and Pyro are regular candidates.
  10. Incorrect. Elder Parasite + Max Riftshards + Frostburn + Behemoth's Heart + Ult + DD. Then Ghost Marchers and Life Token. Match 25546241
  11. 1700 dmg crits as Hammerstorm? I dropped them like rocks.
  12. Needs more Nerubian Assassin. I'm so good with him it's criminal. And if you want a tanky hero then in my opinion the next best ports would be Pit Lord or Doombringer for strength or you know THE REAL PANDAS goddamnit. Pandaurens are so strong.
  13. If anything change the name from witch. To S2 anything with an evil connotation has to be ugly it seems.
  14. Yeah pretty much. He is a disabler in the sense that in every teamfight (or small skirmish) one person will be useless and most likely die. His ult is just that good. Early game he is a monster for players who are well versed in using Lv. Death. His farming is top notch because of his abilities, attack animation, and damage output. His ult is superior to Blood Hunters because it cannot be removed and even if they stand still they are going to die. Also condensing multiple abilities into a single ability (as you've seen many times from HoN) is significantly more powerful by default. And silencing someone doesn't give them a huge damage boost like it does with BH. Also no item use is brutal for the survivability and damage output of some heroes. Against a Blood Hunter you can attempt to stand and fight. Against Doom you die. That isn't to say he's amazing. I mean he doesn't see much competitive play at all because of his lack of AoE and range. Granted things may have changed since I haven't watched competitive DotA in a year or so. Tensei is correct about my comment about his semi-carry nature. A semi-carry possesses either abilities that make them situationaly superior (ex: Valk arrow) or abilities that accelerate farm to insane levels (ex: Any cheap AoE spell coupled with respectable stat growth and a solid attack animation which covers Valk, Hag, Torturer). Granted you need a balance. A hero like Alchemist from DotA has extreme farming ability but no abilities to take advantage of situations. He can't be a semi-carry unless that person farms harder than probably I have ever farmed in a single game. Even then their team would be fighting a global 4v5 while he bulks up. He bulks up fast and like I said anything short of a 3v1 he stands a strong chance of winning every time. Think of it like Succubus except he's still nuking and attacking you or another person while you're stuck twiddling your thumbs. Also I might be putting up some videos for you guys to watch. I'm starting to take more note of amazing things I do. Every once in a while I'll roar after an awesome teamfight or situation where I really made zero mistakes and totally keyed in. (Yeah it's lame but hey that's the kind of gamer I am.) I've been wanting to make a reel for some time. Edit: Also carry/semi-carry is NOT dependent on AGI growth. Kunkka from DotA is a semi-carry. He's a strength hero with some kickass spells. While agility heroes are definitely the main candidates for the carry/semi-carry role the amount DPS does not determine whether they can carry or not.
  15. Doom is meant as a disabler. He is also a semi-carry.
  16. Pyro is so wickedly strong. Had 20 or so kills one game and definitely outpaced everyone else and was carrying like whoa. Only reason we lost was because the combination of Accursed and Magebane is just way too much for a Pyro to handle lategame. I was torn into little pieces. Also on most every hero I carry with I get a sac stone as my second or third big item. The amount of additional HP and regen for simply making kills happen (which any and every carry should be doing) is immense. I was outpacing a Deadwood's max HP as a Pyro.
  17. That will make me play today/tonight. Be on the lookout for an angry vet ripping through kids.
  18. One main thing I've noticed, Tensei, is that you cancel a lot of attacks with spells. Usually in moments where you want to be killing as quickly as possible. In moments like those let the attack finish then quickly animation cancel into a spell then animation cancel into an attack. You lose DPS that way and sometimes it's really crucial.
  19. Normally I'm fine with that level of play but you have to warn me first, lol. If I'm not carrying then I get very frustrated that I have nobody to rely on. Which you saw in spades. And, Zircon, you are correct. I meant to say "carry viability".
  20. Let's not discuss the viability of Blacksmith. It isn't possible. You'll notice that most if not all melee carry heroes posses not only a strong self buff via a skill or high stat growth but also a means of closing distance quick and efficiently. This is why slows are by far some of the most devastating effects to any melee dps hero.
  21. Going to preface this with the fact that I like to win and usually will do whatever it takes to do so consistently. Fighting: I like to be able to zone well. So I like characters with solid ranged attacks and solid close range abilities or those that can close distances easily. Samus and Link in SSBM and Zelda in SSBB are good examples. Nu in BB. I-No and Slayer in GG. You get the idea. FPS: I do it all. Currently I'm an aggressive no scope sniper in MW2 but I enjoy being quick and mobile with an SMG or being solid and consistent with an AR. Heavy weapons? Sure! Also it just seems that it clicks with me and female characters since they're usually the more balanced ones in games and/or have more and better customization options. So yeah I'm always that guy that defaults as a female in an MMO unless proven otherwise that the devs decided to give some love to the male characters as well.
  22. My strategy is very up and in your face since my eyes and fingers are fast enough. I go in attacking usually with any combination and watch for any attackers. PPKKK is really strong cause it's two wicked weaves. PPPKKK is strong because it sweeps and will interrupt enemy attackers. PPPPK is just insane damage overall and is what I usually resort to. First priority is to do a delayed block so I get to counter with a super long WT and if there are just too many angles to watch for then I'll resort to actually dodging to activate WT. In Non-Stop Infinite Climax you can't WT normally so I'll probably resort to skirting around with lots of dodges like I did when I wasn't so good at timing my dodges but with the black rosary equipped this time. In terms of using bought techniques I keep them all on and use them except for three (or four I guess). I keep the dash punch, the heel slide, and crow within off which also means I can't use the crow dive. This is mostly because in midair I have a tendency to spam dodge which means crow screws me up and if I panic and start pressing directions a lot to preemptively block really fast attacks I'll end up doing a dash and screw up my combo. Tried to finish the Lost Chapter without maxing out my health and magic first. Lost at the 2X Jeanne battle. EDIT: Okay I lied. I actually use Umbran Spear now. I always kept it on but even if you have crow disabled you will transform into a crow then right back out if you use the technique in human form. This is actually really useful and more precise than using the full throttle kick downward.
