  1. This is true. However, you can still play the discs on your PC with emulators like Gens and Kega Fusion, as you search for a Sega CD unit.
  2. There are no hooks for the 32X. The two metal plates are there to hold the Genesis flaps open, and not let them snag on anything when you remove the 32X. They also line up with the metal squares on the 32X. What they do beyond holding open the cart port is up in the air. Either way, those metal plate don't dig into anything on or in the Genesis. They're only attached to the flaps. And the Sega CD was a fine little system. It just got drowned in FMV shovelware and cart ports that added little above CD music. However, there are games that were good. Such as... AH-3 Thunderstrike (Flying) Android Assault (Shmup) Annet Futatabi (Action) * Battlecorps (Action) Dark Wizard (Turn-Based Strategy) Dungeon Explorer II (Action) Earnest Evans (Action) * Earthworm Jim: Special Edition (Action Platformer) Eternal Champions: Challenge From the Dark Side (Fighting) Final Fight CD (Beat'em Up) Flink (Action Platformer/Puzzle) Lords of Thunder (Shmup) Lunar: The Silver Star (RPG) Lunar: Eternal Blue (RPG) Popful Mail (Action RPG) Robo Aleste (Shmup) Shining Force CD (Turn-Based Strategy RPG) Sonic CD (Platformer) Soul Star (3D Action/Shmup) Stellar Fire (Solely for the soundtrack) (3D Action) The Terminator (Action) Vay (RPG)
  3. Why would he do that, when the likes of Shadow Squadron, Kolibri, Knuckles Chaotix, After Burner Complete, Space Harrier, Virtua Racing Deluxe and Zaxxon's Motherbase 2000 are on it?
  4. I've wanted that game for years, but every time I have cash, it's either nowhere to be found, or it's cart-only (I prefer my games complete). Then as soon as I'm broke, they pop up. It's like some monetary game of Whack-A-Mole
  5. Some people just prefer the more platforming-only style of the sequel. OverCoat- I've never played Zool, or the Genesis version of California Games (played the hell out of the Lynx version though). I'll look into Zool, but the reviews for the Genesis California Games weren't very favorable, so I avoided it. As for NBA Jam TE, I found it to be pretty lacking as a single player game (a rather unreliable CPU partner namely). It's not a bad game, and I do own it. But it's just a lot more fun with a friend, and I have a hard time recommending it when my main focus is on the single player aspect of a given game (if it's not a particularly fun one player game, I tend not to recommend it to people). But that's just my take on it.
  6. Genesis games are easily found. Maybe not easily afforded for some titles, but even the tougher to find ones like Eliminate Down and Gley Lancer show up on eBay pretty regularly.

  8. Well hot damn. This has already started? I just wanted to swing by and say thanks to Douli for letting me step in and help out with this contest. I was honestly surprised when he asked me to make an original midi for this. I was going to just use one of the songs I'd written a while ago, but I figured that was kind of chintzy. So I took a few hours, and threw "Faded Sun" together. Yeah, it's a bit repetitive. But after I decided to do something new, and with not a lot of time left before Doulifée needed it, I gave it my best shot. That said, thanks for the compliments on it. I'm thinking of working on it more outside of midi, and submitting it for this. It won't be an entry per se since it wouldn't be a remix, but I'd like to see what I could do with more time.
  9. I'd gladly listen to it, but it seems the site thinks I either don't have Flash, or that Ad Block Plus is somehow still enabled after I turned it off. No fair
  10. I'm honestly surprised that FAC 29 wasn't geared towards being very Halloween-centric... be it by going with a franchise or individual game that lends itself to being spooky (Demon's Crest, Ghouls 'N Ghosts, etc.), or by choosing a very broad subject, and creating a "make it spooky" clause.
  11. Hmmm... After taking the month off following the FAC 27 debacle, looks like I'll be doing the same for another month. Sorry bonzai!, but I'm going to pass.
  12. Shit. The voting deadline was yesterday? I thought it ended this weekend.
  13. Remixing. Though to be honest, I didn't know that's what it was called back when I started learning to play things like the main theme from Ghouls 'N Ghosts, "BMG 6" from Master of Monsters, and the ending theme from Castlevania II: Simon's Quest on piano/keyboard. I was just interpreting the multiple instruments into a version that could be played with two hands.
  14. Let's see... they pick a very "un-Terry" looking guy to play Terry Bogard, and they pick the rather bony and not particularly "chesty" Maggie Q to play the curvaceous Mai Shiranui. Who the hell does the casting for these movies, and are they drunk when doing so?
  15. I know. It just seemed rather strange that he'd pop back up to pull a post and run (aka pull a spambot). And is this new album (if that's what it is) going to contain some Sega music? All the albums thus far look like they're quite NES and SNES centric in terms of what games they cover.
  16. So an old poster with a bit over a dozen posts just swung by to pull a spambot?
  17. Once it's past midnight PST (aka after 12:01 a.m. PST September 28th).
  18. That right there, is the new Nigerian e-mail money scam. Anyone who would enroll in that ReSTART program, would be just as stupid as those who fall for the e-mail scam.
