An internal preamp probably isn't a good idea because it's next to 2 or more fans, and some other electronics.
I'm sure this is the main reason why all the +20 db signal boosts built into the Soundblasters [maybe it's a universal Windows thing? I have no idea] suck so much.

I just want to remind everyone to PLEASE go to Doulifee's forum, and sign up, so we can all share comments. I've been working on my song but coming up with few ideas, also I want to see how others are doing

God, you morons. How hard is it to just type "Sorry, automatic VGZ>MID conversion is impossible, you'll have to transcribe it yourself?"
-
Take out another loan on the house, maybe XD

You can get by with free stuff.

You can buy a SM57 for your instruments, and SM58 for your vocals. But your computer hardware is going to hold you back.
If you don't want noise, you'll want to abandon the meager $100 limit and set the price a lot higher.
You'll need a mic, a preamp, and a new soundcard.

I like this a lot. However the guitar is too loud compared to the rest of the song. The sample itself doesn't bug me as much as other people, but it was quite loud. The song was also too brief. It needs about another 2-3 minutes You could have brought that guitar section back in to close, why didn't you?

You can get a midi controller, or a cheap vintage synth off of eBay. Either way you're paying the same amount, though old synths are cheaper most of the time

Well, the digital pianos, and if I remember right, the P80 is fairly newer, the ones they make now sound like a real piano. Hard to tell the difference aside from the sound coming out of speakers instead of the piano itself.
If it has MIDI hookups, then yes, you can use it for quite some time for the future, until some random huge CEO decides MIDI is outdated and everything goes to shit. But let's save that discussion for another day
Anyway, you're fine. I think I played a P80 once and it was very, very nice. You seem way serious about realistic piano action, so definitely stay away from 'semi-weighted' and synth action keys, you're probably not gonna like either of those options. It's almost like you want them to stick or something XD but play around with the P80 for a bit more and see if it's really worth all that money. Also, I would only get a midi controller if I wanted some extra, mappable keys.

haha wow
Do they offer upgrades?

I got into music when I was about 14. So that's 5 years ago by now.

I think those around-the-back headphones fall off the least. Have you tried those kinds yet?
Normal headphones and earbuds, I imagine, are shit for moving around [like cardio].
Maybe you can just use a stereo unless you work out in a gym and don't want people to know you do jumping jacks to Kraid's Lair. Which is an understandable feeling, believe me

And there it happens again. Out of a simple question regarding Cubase...
And you're wondering why?

This just in: I hate Sixto. ; _ ;
This just in: Sixto hates ProTools

You have Reason, so it's probably doable, but you HAVE to know what kind of channel the guy wants to run. There's a difference between Lifetime and Spike TV, for example.
The material on the TV station pretty much defines what you will write. If you can tell me what kind of format he's gonna be running, I can help you out with some ideas.

I listen to .mod files from 1988
suck it, 16-bit audio

when it comes to decent soundcards, I guess I am one.
!
Well, usually, it's Left/Mono, and Right. Just putting the plug in the left one gets you monaural sound, therefore, your problem. I've seen signal splitters but not the other way around, but isn't there a headphones jack also on that thing?
If not, I think there are two-pronged headphones you can buy or maybe your speakers have a headphone jack in them.
I wish mine did

Plugins refers to VST/DX/ReWire/Fruity instruments or effects in this context.

This is like a thread last week but in reverse XD

I heard that 320kbps is totally indistinguishable by the human ear.
indistinguishable to what? CD quality? Quality doesn't stop at CDs That's why we have DVD-A and Hi-Def CDs and SCDs and all that.
That said, I think a partial mirror site of sorts that hosts FLAC and/or other lossless formats would be a good idea. I know a few people [not a lot, though] that prefer flac encoding over mp3 because hard drive space isn't so limiting anymore.

hehehe... jerker
I love the names they come up with.

Argosy desks seem a bit costly, yeah. I'm with EKM, sort of. It's not hard [or at least expensive] to be your own carpenter
I don't think it's unreasonable for a guy to know how to build. I'm disappointed they never taught me how in school.
You can probably build something identical to those desks your own for at least 1/5th of the price.
