Why is it so hard for me to find a Doom .WAD utility?
Google gives less than stellar results, that combined with confusing websites makes a sad soc
-
The speed of the download is insanely slow.
OCR00001_to_OCR00500 24 24 30,397 45,228.684 GiB 492.13 KB/sec
OCR00501_to_OCR01000 22 21 23,682 46,486.682 GiB 239.84 KB/sec
OCR01001_to_OCR01250 21 11 17,185 17,199.046 GiB 197.17 KB/sec
I dunno, looks like the download speed would be fine to me. Are you behind a router?

No, you can have portamento on polyphonic synths/samples, it just sounds funny
-
Portamento? That does a bunch of pitch sliding though, but is that what you're thinking of?
-
Well, shit, that looks like a FANTASTIC midi controller to me!
Is it velocity sensitive?
-
I would probably save up for a better car.
-
soc; basically every keyboard on sale now is velocity sensitive
Your mom is velocity sensitive :3
-
Wait a second.
Hold on...
Do you hear that?
It's the sound of a compo beckoning
>_>
Set aside an hour sometime this week and we'll try to get CompoST 54 running
-
Uematsu on keys? You'll need maybe like one or two octaves.
Actually, if all you want to is record lines with your keyboard [like melody and basslines] 2-3 octave keyboards are fine, but if you want to do piano solos I would go for at the very least a velocity sensitive 63-key synth/controller and recommend the full 88 keys

most software has dB meters in it, but any waveform editor will show you the FULL song [Audition, SoundForge, Goldwave, Audacity] and whether it goes above 0 dB or not, of course.
-
USB cables can actually handle way more information than MIDI cables [uSB1.1 even], so yeah you're fine.
-
Have you tried looking at one of Hemo's paintings?
-
hahaha
hi leifo?
-
typically "dark" means it sounds muffled and the highs are absent or mostly absent, so just run it through a simple filter.
-
Larry as your oldest fan I feel it is my responsibility to call in for show #81
Plus I've been meaning to call in for like a month or two now.
-
hahahahaha
oops!
I could have sworn it was a link to google.
I MUST BE OFF MY ROCKER
Anyway just google "ID3 mp3 tagger Mac" or something.

You can load it with the sampler. Just make a new Sampler via "Channels>Add" and under the channel settings, find the folder icon and look for it through windows.
The alternative is to put it in your FL\Data\Patches directory, so you can load it via the sample browser.

or QLSO Silver which is only about $125. Both have more samples and better recorded samples.
Actually, QLSO silver has far less instruments than HQ Orchestral. The quality is higher, of course, but Silver doesn't even have a full string section sample . And it's not like one is bad and one isn't, they're both far above the quality of your average free soundfont.
Anyway, I've gotten satisfactory results out of both HQ Orchestral and QLSO Silver, however the sample quality in QLSO is much higher. I have not used GPO, though.
So Edirol gets points for having a boatload more instruments than QLSO Silver, but Silver beats that out with a very high quality. Keep that in mind when shopping around.

I can second seanv's method

WOW, FREEZING!
When are you ever going to use more then 8 effects? And besides, you can just use sends. And 64 VST slots? You show me a song that has 64 virtual instruments running at once. Some people are that nuts, Zoola.
I'm not one of them but I am just saying!
Oh, but I have used more than 8 effects on one channel before.

1. File>Import
2. Options>Enable MIDI output

It's a bad environment for creating music.
I disagree.
Just fyiThe less restricted you are in the creative process [e.g writing songs], the harder it is to come up with any good ideas.
I find this somewhat contradictory.
On one hand, I tend to think better in a closed, messy space full of technology. On the other hand, I have different fingers. There is too much technology to choose from to accurately grasp your muse.

I already have a surround sound system on my TV?!?!?!?!?!
Edit: WITH DTS!??!?!?!?!
Anyway you might be able to use a surround sound receiver, if your soundcard can output to 5.1 or more.

TO I mean one where I can extract stuff from the .WAD.
Pretty much all I [feel I] need to do on my song right now is just get that Romero sample. Remember I asked you about that like a few months ago?
