I'm sending you a new version of my song right now, TO
heads up
-
I converted it already, and I can use it via fl studio 6, but I only can use cello-sound from Piano roll. What about the other sounds?
Click on the orange instrument name on the Soundfont Player panel. You don't see a big list of instruments? How big is the file? Did you try redownloading it from a different source?
-
-
Is there more than one instrument in one soundfontpack? Because I can only hear one and they say that there should be more of em...
A lot of times, yes, there are multiple instruments. What's the soundfont you're trying to work with?
-
FL Studio doesn't load .sfpack or .sfark, they must be in .sf2 format. You can find converters easily enough on google, though.
As for storing them, there's a FLStudio\Data\Patches\Soundfonts\ folder, where I recommend you put them. That way they'll show up in the sample browser on the left under the Soundfonts folder.
And that brings me to:
A tip for advanced users!
This tip has mostly to do with organization and ease of navigation. As far as "where to put samples," I recommend you put all of them in a single folder like C:\Samples\, C:\ being whatever drive you want to put it on, and of course organizing the samples within that folder. This way, especially if you have multiple audio programs, there's a simple directory you can go to for everything, instead of a complicated path like C:\FLStudio6\Data\Patches\Soundfonts\Voice. I also recommend putting a \VST-DX\ folder on the same drive if you can. This is what I do, since I have FL Studio, Cool Edit, Modplug, Schism Tracker, OrgMaker, etc. Hopefully you'll find this organization tip very handy.

Theowne is a pirate lol
-
oh-kay... and what of that stuff "weren't" warez? o_O
Why does piracy always come up in equipment threads, anyway? The last thing a pirate is going to read or acknowledge is a long, lectural post regarding moral consumerism.
Also, you're just being a smartass anyway, you don't know they pirated anything, unless they say so, in which case they're idiots for letting people know
And it's perfectly plausible that a lot of these people HAVE bought all their stuff. Save your jeers for people you know, please.

OH
Well anyway, what are you looking for in software? Easy learning curve? That depends, really. Just find one program and stick with it. Do you want good audio recording functionality? MIDI functionality? Simple interface?
Here are some wares [lol not warez] to check out:
Cubase
Sonar
FL Studio
Reason
Ableton Live
Tracktion
With the proper knowledge and enough experience you can pretty much make the same quality stuff in any of those programs.
and there are more but whatever XD

I will admit I like to borrow styles from various artists.
Welcome to ReMixing 101: So does everyone else .

I'm thinking some people here should definitely upgrade. Why are there so many people with FL4...
Wait, no, nevermind. DUH
-
Use Logic?
Not sure why it's doing what it's doing. Are you using FL6? It's changed a lot so it's new in a lot of areas. Maybe it's a bug? Also, there are timestretch options in the sampler window... doublecheck those, would you?
p.s. ESQ-1 reprazent WHUT
-
Would you all reccomend semi weighted controllers for music production?
It depends!
Some people like them non-weighted, I guess it's better for fingerdrumming
but I usually mouse-sequence the drums I dunno about you

First songs I learned were FF6 songs... very easy to figure out by ear.
Actually, wait, it was the DK Hammer song. LOL?

Won't let me direct link, but if you search that page, you will see the [excellent] tabla player, and how he has the mic set up. He does have two mics, but look at the placement of both of them, they're pretty much right next to each other.
This guy goes totally nuts on the tablas by the way he was entertaining to watch.

The first thing I do is ask questions to myself. For example, "Why are there no non-trance Vectorman remixes?" usually leads me to remix Vectorman in a non-trance style. I almost always remix something because I think or know it deserves recognition, hence why I have so many Deus Ex and Vectorman tunes, and a good amount of the stuff I had on VGMix was fresh material. A lot of it was from games most people knew about, but the actual song covered was something no one's done yet.
As for the anime remixes... there's still SO MUCH GROUND to be covered! I gotta get busy
Also, don't make me jinx my muse... if I talk about my actual physical composition process, I won't be able to make anything good for at least a month

uhhh hey larry you suck clocks

How about "$50 and all I got was a fucking Super Shotgun"
-
That Romero sample is in the archive on the front page, which I used wintex to extract from the game.
HOW LONG HAS THAT BEEN THERE
D:

I used to do the same thing with the Granulizer [i just remembered!]. But that was in like 2001/2002 so the application of said technique wasn't very good

- -FL Studio for 95% of everything.
-Cool Edit [maybe I should upgrade?] for sample recording [e.g. capturing the audio from a .swf advertisement], which I do a lot, and final trimmings of my songs.
-Modplug Tracker for chiptunes.
-2nd hand Kawaii K11 for MIDI control
So yeah, my setup is pretty minimal.
- -FL Studio for 95% of everything.

When I right click the waveform and select 'Detect Tempo' in the Channel settings for a Sampler channel ,choosing one of the tempo ranges give me this error:
Don't do that then D: I think it is a known bug with FL6.
I can't recall ever needing to use that function so try not to do it yourself
Need new multi-track recording software

Do you think it's a buffer problem?
