  1. FL Studio doesn't load .sfpack or .sfark, they must be in .sf2 format. You can find converters easily enough on google, though.

As for storing them, there's a FLStudio\Data\Patches\Soundfonts\ folder, where I recommend you put them. That way they'll show up in the sample browser on the left under the Soundfonts folder.

    And that brings me to:

    A tip for advanced users!

This tip has mostly to do with organization and ease of navigation. As far as "where to put samples," I recommend you put all of them in a single folder like C:\Samples\, C:\ being whatever drive you want to put it on, and of course organizing the samples within that folder. This way, especially if you have multiple audio programs, there's a simple directory you can go to for everything, instead of a complicated path like C:\FLStudio6\Data\Patches\Soundfonts\Voice. I also recommend putting a \VST-DX\ folder on the same drive if you can. This is what I do, since I have FL Studio, Cool Edit, Modplug, Schism Tracker, OrgMaker, etc. Hopefully you'll find this organization tip very handy.

  2. oh-kay... and what of that stuff "weren't" warez? o_O

Why does piracy always come up in equipment threads, anyway? The last thing a pirate is going to read or acknowledge is a long, lectural post regarding moral consumerism.

Also, you're just being a smartass anyway, you don't know they pirated anything, unless they say so, in which case they're idiots for letting people know :)

And it's perfectly plausible that a lot of these people HAVE bought all their stuff. Save your jeers for people you know, please.

  3. OH

Well anyway, what are you looking for in software? Easy learning curve? That depends, really. Just find one program and stick with it. Do you want good audio recording functionality? MIDI functionality? Simple interface?

Here are some wares [lol not warez] to check out:

    Cubase

    Sonar

    FL Studio

    Reason

    Ableton Live

    Tracktion

With the proper knowledge and enough experience you can pretty much make the same quality stuff in any of those programs.

and there are more but whatever XD

  4. The first thing I do is ask questions to myself. For example, "Why are there no non-trance Vectorman remixes?" usually leads me to remix Vectorman in a non-trance style. I almost always remix something because I think or know it deserves recognition, hence why I have so many Deus Ex and Vectorman tunes, and a good amount of the stuff I had on VGMix was fresh material. A lot of it was from games most people knew about, but the actual song covered was something no one's done yet.

As for the anime remixes... there's still SO MUCH GROUND to be covered! I gotta get busy :D

Also, don't make me jinx my muse... if I talk about my actual physical composition process, I won't be able to make anything good for at least a month :P

    • -FL Studio for 95% of everything.
-Cool Edit [maybe I should upgrade?] for sample recording [e.g. capturing the audio from a .swf advertisement], which I do a lot, and final trimmings of my songs.
      -Modplug Tracker for chiptunes.
-2nd hand Kawaii K11 for MIDI control

So yeah, my setup is pretty minimal.
