  1. I didn't ovelook that. See "It seriously boils down to this: You want L4D2 to be an expansion to L4D1, and preferably a free one." I would also. But I don't get the impression that this is NJ's core issue at all. And if it is, it still goes back to the premise that we're all spoiled because Valve was good enough to release anything for free at all.
  2. THEN SHUT UP AND DON'T BUY IT THEN. Or wait for it to go on sale. Your argument remains completely preposterous. Again, it's based on this whole concept of (false) entitlement that you have. If Valve creates a product, they are obligated to set the price and terms of release to whatever they want (or need), NOT whatever YOU want. If you do not agree with the value they've placed on their product, then don't get it, simple as that. How is that complicated? It seriously boils down to this: You want L4D2 to be an expansion to L4D1, and preferably a free one. But it's not, and you're throwing a tantrum about it, and you're not going to stop until everyone agrees with you that it should be a free/cheap expansion because you're used to getting free stuff from the same company for another game you like better.
  3. That is one of the dumbest things I've ever heard. Think about Halo. Or Pikmin. Or any other game that has a "2" at the end. Now think about what you just said. Yes, it's reasonable to WANT the same thing, but how is that any different than wanting, say, free food for the rest of your life? Your post exhibits the very essence of being spoiled. Just listen to yourself man. You cannot deny that free DLC for TF2 hasn't spoiled you. Your stance remains exhaustingly naive and shows very juvenile comprehension (and reasoning) abilities. You clearly have no idea how business works.
  4. Yep, pretty much what they said. Let me edit my post to emphasize some points I think you must have overlooked.
  5. Yes, I do believe that he did.. What can ya do, eh?

  6. Entitlement is a nasty word, and it's a very popular notion lately. It's a feeling that more and more people have about more and more things, and it's really starting to catch up to us. Yes, it's disappointing when expectations go unfulfilled, but so far, people being upset has nothing to do with expectations of the game, only that they have to buy it. It's like, I was expecting Terminator Salvation to be better than it was so I was disappointed. That is a fair use of the "unfulfilled expectation" argument. Expecting everything to always be free just because you don't feel like paying for it, or because you've been fortunate enough to receive freebies before is just naive, selfish, and a bit silly. It'd be great if Valve released more stuff more often for free. But they can't, and they don't, so why whine about it? It'd also be great if someone anonymously deposited a million bucks into my checking account, but that is also not likely to happen. There's no point and no substance to getting upset over either. If people would quit feeling like the world owes them everything, there are a lot of problems that would go away. If you don't want to buy the game, then don't. But stop complaining that you're going to have to pay for it if you do want to play it. This is how the world/economy works. I could spend so much time drawing parallels to similar situations that would seem much more ridiculous, but if you're so dense that you can't do that yourself, I'm not going to waste my time.
  7. Taken from Moviefone. I'm curious to know what your preferences are, feel free to post what you put. http://www.moviefone.com/insidemovies/2009/06/01/best-pixar-movies/ I'm a huge fan of all their films, this was a particularly hard poll for me, but in the end, here's what I picked for the top 5: 1) Finding Nemo 2) Wall-E 3) Ratatouille 4) Monsters Inc 5) Incredibles Again, overall, it was a really tough call since I love all the Pixar films, but my own personal reason for choosing Nemo as my all-time fave is because it has a really moving story (that's not too sappy or depressing) and absolutely fantastic characters. Marlin, Dori, Crush, all the fish in the tank, etc; there's not a single one that was not just completely enjoyable. Also, I really enjoy the OST to this one.
  8. Yeah, that'll teach em. [/sarcasm] That's cool that you don't like the game, but crying about having to pay for sequels is just silly. Did you revolt when you had to pay for the next Mario/Castlevania/Zelda/Halo/[insert any other game with sequels here]? Come on now, really.

  10. lol, not sure I can hear that connection, but I WILL say that EDF is like, one of the most fun games I've ever played. As ridiculious/silly and overall B-movie-like as it is, it's an absolute blast. Dang, I want to play it now...
  11. Good then, there's a place for all types of discussion. This place is designated to be for reviews and comments pertaining specifically to the mix. Doug, again, I really enjoyed this track. It's refreshingly unique. I'm not saying I'd rock out to this song for hours or anything, but this with the Zelda Heineken are two of the most stand-out and innovative tracks OCR has seen in a while, and despite whatever anyone may say about their own musical preference or tastes, I don't believe anyone can legitimately argue that they are not.
  12. crazy drumwork. can't wait to hear how this one continues to develop. more love for our slinky-armed friend, yo!
  13. And thank you Chris for bringing me to page 2 Thy generous comments are as stellar as thy capoiera technique. Woo!
  14. REAKTR.1 was Tweek and Sephfire, also a very awesome 4/4 take on the Bombing Mission. In fact, I'm going to go listen to it now.
  15. I agree. Shame on you, Sam. p.s. rooooooooooooooofl
  16. normally I'm not that big on cynicism but that was actually pretty entertaining to read.
  17. Wow, this was actually really unexpected. Thanks for the writeup, DJP. Truly thoughtful. I actually originally did submit this to the panel, but it didn't go up with the initial flood, so I actually took it down because the more I thought about it, the more I figured that it was already available and pretty easy to find on the VotL album, so I thought it was a little too self-whorish (for lack of better words) to put it up as well. I didn't realize it actually was going to be posted. Pleasant surprise though, at any rate Thanks for digging this one, those of you who dig it. My only regret is that I made this mix before I acquired any of my more modern and/or high-end plugins. Let that be another lesson to you guys who can't afford high-end VSTs and programs at the moment. With the exception of Andy throwing a little HQ-plugin-lovin' on the "Opening" portion (namely the strings and the lead synth, which I think is FM8 if I'm not mistaken), this was mostly free samples, loops, and soundfonts. It takes a good deal of work, but it can pay off *EDIT* Without comparing the two, I'm 98% sure this is the same version that's on VotL. I did have a version that was "just me" without Zircon, and while it's not a whole lot different, Andy's version has that extra sheen and polish to it, so I think I recall pretty much tossing the original by the wayside, because, ya know, why would I not use the version that Andy improved?
  18. Hope Binjovi doesn't mind me sharing this:
