  1. I submitted this to a compo recently (the arrangement structure is the same because the compo was MnP) and I just want to get some feedback and improve. https://soundcloud.com/atheox/peaceful-days-remix
  2. Remix: https://soundcloud.com/katamari-jr/not-even-death-can-save-you Original: Got this out just in time for Halloween, and I'm pretty excited about it. I feel it's the best I've put out yet, both in terms of mix and arrangement. Feedback is always appreciated, as I'm still aware it has a long ways to go.
  3. First of all, hello, I'm new here. I'm making an album of new boss battle themes for SNES games. No remixes, no remakes—just newly composed to try and sound like they were hidden tracks from the original soundtracks. I'm Kickstarting it here: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/581415031/snes-album-boss-battles-for-the-soul There is music on the page you can listen to. Please check it out if you like SNES music!
  4. Hi everyone I submitted a version of this ages ago but OC didn't dig it 'cos I used way too much of the original choir. Am having another stab at it. Maaan I really love Olivier Derivière's work on this game a lot. Comments and helpful things welcome https://soundcloud.com/tobosaurus/jane-visitors-obscure
  5. Hello everyone, For all you Breath of Fire 2 fans out there (or not), who made it through the tedious as hell final dungeon (you know, take 2 steps, fight...take another 3, fight - and smoke screens didn't save you) and to the last boss, this is for you! The final battle against Deathevn was epic, emotionally touching, and downright cool. I enjoyed it so much, I decided to take a shot at the remix. Any feedback and constructive criticism is welcome, as I'm still fluid to making tweaks for it. Thanks and enjoy! -D https://soundcloud.com/daniel-j-rocha/d-j-rocha-bof2-decadence-of-a
  6. The title is from a VST effect by the same name which I used extensively in this project. http://tindeck.com/listen/zjla My fridge is broken which is bitter. Tomorrow PoE is officially released, that is sweet.
  7. A hearty remix of The Day The Earth Revived with some synths and percussion that reminded me of Gato: I have been taking music theory since my past explorations into music and my own cynical attempts to have something accepted to OCR in the past. I was working in my DAW and experimenting with percussion and drums while playing Chrono Trigger on my PSX. As I began creating a pretty nice drum beat, I was at the part in the game where you bring the seed back to the inhabitants of Arris Dome and the theme (of which I have heard and whistled so many times before) struck me as a least remixed theme on OCR's CT page and inspired me to use the drum beat I already made to make a kind of uplifting version of the original track. The further along I have gotten with the arrangement, the more I noticed a lot of the synths and leads sounded like Gato's Theme, hence the name of the arrangement. I do believe I accomplished making the track seem a little more lively, atmospheric and perhaps even a little cheery, again, where the name came from. Listen on Tindeck Update 4: Some adjustments to arrangement and synths. Update 5: Added a spliced/in-key version of Gato's theme Update 6: Adjustments to time signatures, key signatures and instruments/synths. Also added a little delay to gato synth and EQ'd the kick & gato synth. Update 7: Complete re-arrangement and re-work of track, some effects changes, transitions and EQ applied, raised low/mid, raised high a tiny bit. First track that I made with my new PreSonus I/O. Let me know what you think.
  8. Hey guys, something different this time. started a new soundcloud for my singer-songwriter related stuff. I'll be uploading demos and stuff occasionally here: http://soundcloud.com/blacklakemusic first song uploaded is "Ivory Tower" a song I wrote, performed here with a Fender Telecaster + Zoom Box & a C1 microphone. enjoy and please follow me if you want more ^^
  9. This is a funky version of the overworld theme from the Legend Of Zelda. Here's da link: https://app.box.com/s/z9nui51q66gp5oviya5d And here's the well known original: http://youtu.be/lpEzYEoV9qY I dunno, maybe I will make a real remix, with more instruments and drums... Thanks for listening and feel free to comment
  10. Hey All! Got a mix from Super Monkey Ball 2 I started working on a few days ago... I'm really liking it so far. Here's the original: Here's my mix (updated): https://soundcloud.com/mark-fuhrman/monkey-flight-remix-unfinished It's maybe about 60% done. The vocals are really far from completed, haven't even finished writing em out yet... but I included the half I got just to give you an idea what they'll sound like later. Let me know what y'all think! Thanks!
  11. I LITERALLY could not sleep until I got this a good ways from starting it lol. It's a mash of this: and this: I'm calling it "Oppa Ding Dong" - http://tindeck.com/listen/uova and I'm nowhere near finished yet. would be my first mashup too.
  12. Hey guys. I love Snatcher's tunes so hard, partic this track. So I'm remixing her to bits! Here's how I'm going. If you got thoughts, make them into words https://soundcloud.com/tobosaurus/i-dont-know-who-i-am-anymore Hoora
  13. Alright, my first remix project! I've had plans for this track for a long time as it's probably my favorite in the game. Here's a link to the original and here's a link to my remix https://www.dropbox.com/s/bdc9qan56xkfzbw/WaltzOfTheDroplets.wavWhat I've done here is turned the dark, brooding atmosphere on the original to a kind of melancholic waltz. The four-note motif in the beginning has been turned to harp accompaniment with delay on it and plays throughout the track in the background. The first melody you hear is the chromatically descending melody from 0.31 from the original, played with a flutish sound. Then we get to the first verse, where I flute plays the main melody (the one starting at 0.10 in the original), first alone then with harmony in fourths. The second section features the melody from 0.50 in the original and serves as a little break before I get to the main theme again with trombones and trumpets. After the second verse I have a breakdown with just violins and harp with staccato string section coming in the middle. I also modulate here from C minor to D minor. After the breakdown the string section continues pizzicato with the harp. In the end we hear again the melody from the beginning played in the new key. I haven't started to mix this yet, because I wanted to get material complete before starting mixing seriously. Because of that everything's kinda in the middle and cluttered. I'd like to hear people's opinions on the track so far and how I could improve the material still.
  14. https://soundcloud.com/limberturtle/tetris-attack-water-stage-2 I was looking for some feedback so i can finally finish this song. Any help would be appreciated
  15. I've always loved the Heroes series, except Heroes IV. I played a lot of Heroes IV when I was younger, before I knew much about video games. Because of that the soundtrack was ingrained into my brain. I recently rediscovered the OST of it, and it blew me away. The ironic thing was that HoMMIV had the best music, but the worst gameplay. But let's get onto the track: https://soundcloud.com/rimcast/iullus-the-irony-of-a-hero-wip I slowed Hope down to 80 BPM and used various instruments that differ from the original arrangement, it also doesn't feature any vocals, since I don't possess any good software for that kind of thing (recommendations for some vocal/choir software are more than welcome). The original "Hope" is the first half of the song, then it continues on into something I composed (and sampled). The transition between the two is janky at best at the moment, but I will fix that in the coming days. I will also add more orchestral percussion. That damned Irish low whistle will be replaced when I find something more suitable and less sucky sounding, the drums at the end are pretty placeholder for now (the drum samples in any case) And, there you go. All suggestions, criticism et cetera are very much welcome.
  16. I got bored so i transcribed the homeroom song from Mana Khemia and made it into and metalized version, its the main part of the song, i didn't transcribe it all yet Note guitars are not real, i don't have a program such as shreddage to do so, the drum are real but each instrument was recorded separately https://soundcloud.com/zombieslamx6/mana-khemia Full song but needs a little work. https://soundcloud.com/zombieslamx6/homeroom-mana-khemia
  17. Hi! I made this last weekend but it's no quite finished. Again, as my past cover, I know it needs a little more work. I'm just learning how to use garageband's drums and all that stuff. Hope you like it!
  18. So uh yeah. Not really an original, but not really a game remix either, so I guess I'll post this here. Apparently I missed the train when there was an official remix competition for this song like over 2 years ago, so that kinda sucks. But hey, I still like it and wanted to do something. I'm just looking for some feedback, mainly on mixing, but if you have something else to say then go for it. I can get it to sound pretty good on certain headphones/speakers, but I don't think it's quite there yet. A second set of ears would be greatly appreciated!
  19. Hello Ive been an inactive and unregistered user until now, and though it was about time to try share some of my ideas around! Im far from complete, but Im at the point were I usually get discouraged for something, and I end up starting over on something new. What Im currently working on is a medley of pretty much all my favorite zelda songs. Before I go more into detail of what and why, here is what I have so far! (The genre is a bit different than what is mostly around here, but I hope a few of you are into this stuff!): https://soundcloud.com/supermareyuz/zeldamedley The idea behind this whole thing is the beat in the very beginning. It is a sequence I though was cool, and I was not sure of what song to use it on.. So I decided to make a full medley of the Zelda game series that I have played. You can probably hear that the song is not actually changing much, except for the main lead instrument and some of the cymbals, snares etc. I though this was a good idea in the first place, but now Im starting to think the song gets a bit boring. I also have at least 10 more minutes of songs planned. However, should I decide to redo the whole thing, I will in the end have the complete medley melody, all the right chords etc - which will take me a long way! Another reason for me to only use this one sequence, was so I could properly test the Kontakt VST, which is my newest investment.. But some frequency interferences and sound-drowning are making this a lot harder than I expected. My first goal will be to finish this as a melody, after I will decide if this file is worth continueing on. The leads I am using here could be holders, and not necessarily the ones I will use in the end. Also, the part between 2.55 and 3.50 ish is pretty much an empty holder, just to show the connection I have in mind between. Just blank kicks means I have not yet made any connection between the melodies. Im open for whatever feedback you may have Thanks for listening!
  20. I started this a while ago as a remix (I think), and then I quickly ran out of ideas, so it quickly morphed into this. It's hecka repetitive but I still kind of like it (I think this applies to most of my stuff). Tender Turmoil Tags: minimal, instrumental, minor, melancholic, somber, Persian Ney, bass, drums, piano, something called "Clean Blues Harp NoteExp", violin, cello, double bass, .... experimental?
  21. Yes, I know it has been remixed probably more than any other song from any other game, but with good reason... This is my first remix ever, and I tried to take a drastically different approach than anyone else. I still have some things I want to do with it before I submit it, but I'm curious to hear what everyone else thinks. Link Removed. Submitting
  22. Well, this was just a test, no new melodies, or anything surprising. Just the same track with trance sound, heavy kicks and claps, and some reverb/delay on some "spacey" arpeggios I added. Did it a while ago but as I've got some new ideas for the remix, I started working on it again. Musha Aleste is a fantastic shmup, probably my favorite of all time and its soundtrack is just PHENOMENAL. Toshiaki Sakoda did an amazing work in this game. Hope you like this demo and... waiting for your replies and thoughts! Thanks!
  23. Good morning all! I am working on a mixtape called Nerdcore Emulation Station with about 35 people right now... (I emulate rappers such as Doc Awk, Mega Ran, MC Ohm-I, Richie Branson and a few others)Now I have about 25 tracks listed to go with most slots filled for rappers and producers, but I have a few beats that I need. Background on the story line: It is about heroes fighting enemies called Imagidrains on their planets. The Imagidrains launch an all out assault on all of the galaxies and the heroes realize they need to gain more experience in order to defend their planets. They all get transported to another world and party up to venture through the world of Playstation, then the world of Saturn and then the world of N64 to defeat different enemies and level up. The final boss ends up being master hand in final destination who they defeat and get transported back to their worlds to defeat the imagidrains. If you're interested you can message me on my FB and I'll let you know what's available!
  24. I think its Big Beat? Anyways, here you go! its a remix of Crystal Tear Drops from Symphonie of the Night. I had alot of fun with this, so im looking to see what i could do to fix it up. the drums need variation, and i think i should do something with the intro to fill in the space between sounds, it still feels a bit sparse to me. It also doesnt have an ending yet. remix: https://soundcloud.com/jesse-mitchell-3/crystal-tears-remix-wip source:
