  1. I'm looking for a composer for my Metroidvania game, The Diasporic Crypt. The game is more or less nearing completion, and is just missing a few minor things here and there, but lacking in music/SFXes that I want to keep in the game. You can find the itch.io page here: https://beelzy.itch.io/the-diasporic-crypt I don't yet have a list of tracks I'd like to have composed, but I will create one eventually. There are some special requirements for certain tracks I do have in mind though. Feel free to ask me about them; they're kind of specific. But I would like something similar to the music in Castlevania (not the Lord of Shadow games though); so somewhat classical-baroqueish, with some pipe organ thrown in, and maybe metal-ish for boss fights. I'm NOT looking for ambient music; I want something with a melody. My game is licensed under GPL3, so whatever you compose must be in a GPL compatible format like CC-BY-SA 4.0 or similar. I am willing to pay, but within reason. If you are interested, please provide the following, either here, PMs or in Discord: Relevant samples of your work. If you have a wide variety of genres, please ensure to include something relevant for my game; I can't tell from your techno/dance work if what you'll make is suitable for my game. How you want to be paid, and how much. Or free, if you are not demanding payment. For all other details, feel free to ask on Discord or here. Thanks.
  2. Hi Everyone! I'm a music composer and did my first tracks for video game for Game Jam's video games. Here you can listen to my two OST! https://cyrilperon-dehghan.bandcamp.com/ Enjoy!
  3. Happy New Year, guys. I'm personally having trouble with my source for TurboDrift album, "Sherbet Land/Frappe Snowland" (Mario Kart 64). My problem is that the source is ultimately too upbeat and repetitive even for me. I'm wanting to do a Psytrance arrangement that's a bit of a dark reprise of the piece. Could anyone help me write a lead for this remix I'm working on. My only real requirements are that you keep the inspirations I P.M. you in mind, put it in C Major (to help me harmonize it), and at a tempo of 120 (so I can work with it better). It can be MIDI or a loop. My pieces are usually only 60 measures long so that might be a tip too. I'll give you credit if you help me and it will be a collaboration of sorts. I can make it worth your while so does anyone want to help me. Here's the source. Sorry if I sound a little demanding, I have a few mental issues (including Asperger's and severe anxiety) and haven't collaborated before.
  4. I've been working on this Since Sunday: I need help refining it. the question for potential OCremix post is do I Split it in half like Cantata for Dancing or leave it whole? here is the Sibelius file and midi
  5. Ok so I'm pretty good at making music. But my computer isn't that strong so if I use high quality VST's it lags. So I'm looking for a partner. Basically, someone who can turn my MIDIs into high quality pieces. The other thing is, when I am composing, the song starts off very good but then I don't know where to go with the song. So the cool thing is, you are welcome to extend or modify my music in any manner. So, how do this work? Basically, you do whatever you want to my music, then submit it here. If I approve your modification of my piece, both you and me get unlimited rights to the music. If I don't approve, then you do not get the rights to my song, and I will not use your modified version of my song for any purpose, unless you give me permission to do so. So basically, you get free rights to my music as long as you do good with the song. It's kind of like a win win and you get a composer working for you for free. If there are multiple submissions which are good, we both share the rights (between us, but the other 5 users don't share between them. So for example, if John and Mary gave me their submission, and I thought both were good, then John and me would share the rights, and Mary and me would share the rights, but John would not have the rights to Mary's submission.) If you are interested and want to begin, either post a description of your talents underneath, or send me a PM.
  6. Hey all, We at Plucky Duck Productions are working towards making our hobby game (Duck Jam) a reality. Towards that goal we are setting up a Kickstarter so that we can hire artists to create original music for the entire game (currently we're using music from a variety of OCRemix artists) and promoting our game. As part of that promotion we want to make a couple trailers to help highlight our game. The first trailer we want to create is a 30-60 second show off of the gameplay and story. We're looking for a composer who would be willing to make a sound track for that trailer. We don't have much money (hence the Kickstarter) but are willing to pay for this piece, unless you're willing to throw us a bone and do one for free which is always helpful. You can message me here or find us on Discord if you're interested in the project. https://discord.gg/966j8s
  7. Hi, I'm working on a project that my co-creator and I have named Devil Hunter: MIyumi. This is a video game in the vein of the old side-scrolling action games from the 80s and 90s, which is a genre we feel that has kind of fallen by the wayside in recent years. The game is going to be very similar to the Ninja Gaiden series on the NES with elements of horror akin to the Castlevania series and the action platforming of Strider 2. The game will be set in the late 1800s in Japan and will involve a young Devil Hunter named Miyumi and her mentor Shin. The Devil Hunter tribe basically protect Japan from the Yokai (japanese demons). Our main villain, a japanese succubus, attacks the Devil Hunter village while our 2 protagonists are away training, setting up a quest for Miyumi and Shin to track down the Yokai and save her family/clan. We've already fleshed out a lot of the story and I have bios written for the different characters and placeholder images. Right now I'm coding the game myself using the Unity Engine and the game is actually playable at the moment, though I'm still programming specifics for the characters, special attacks, enemy AI etc. I'm shooting for the end of March or April to be completely finished with the engine. We have already contacted many graphic artists and designers, and have assembled a great team, but I'm ultimately trying to turn this project into the establishment of a legitimate indie game studio, so I want to assemble the most talented people that I can. While I have a lot of the graphical aspects covered, I have no experience composing music. Right now I have a few pieces of placeholder music for use while I'm programming just so I can get an idea of how it will look and sound when its finished, and all of the tracks I've used came from OCRemix. I figured if I was so taken and inspired by remixes from members of this site, then this would be the place to try and recruit some talented people who obviously love creating music. I have a very broad taste in music and I would like to incorporate some actual instruments for some parts and "kick ass" tunes for others. The game will also have cinema scenes like the original Ninja Gaiden Trilogy on the NES, so I'm approaching this more akin to a film than I am to a video game. I want the visuals and the music to sync up to create a complete experience and I can provide examples of music that has inspired me. We are rapidly approaching the point where I will start crowd funding the game and it is my intention to have a completed opening cinema, first stage with functional boss character, and closing cinema that will eventually be the transition from stages 1 to 2. As project manager, head writer, and lead programmer, I made a decision that we could not attempt to crowd fund off of the work of others, so I need to find people who want to create original music that we can use for the proof of concept, which will be fully playable. So right now I need 3 to 4 tracks total, but eventually it will be closer to 20 to 25 depending on how many stages we use and if there is any DLC provided. I'm a particular fan of the original Ninja Gaiden soundtracks from the NES, the Megaman X series (particularly 2 and 6), Castlevania series (like SotN and Rondo of Blood), and other games in different genres including RPGs like Final Fantasy, Chrono Trigger, etc. But I'm not locked into a specific genre of music, so I'd like to discuss the project and see what types of original compositions we can come up with. Like I said previously, I'm trying to build a fantastic team that can do everything in-house. I want to have composers and musicians on staff who share my love of gaming and visual media who can then grow their own talents any way they see fit. I've also created a closed group on Facebook for my development team so that we can bounce ideas off of each other without worrying about external input unless we ask for it. I'm going to close with a message I posted to that page that hopefully conveys the seriousness of my intentions. "I know this project is going to be a lot of work, and I have no issue compensating anyone for your time and effort. I really want to take care of everyone as best I can once the game is completed. Which is why I'd like to work it out so that everyone involved gets a percentage of all future sales and re releases of the game. And I want to build the studio so we can all work together to make awesome games and even branch off to comic books or other forms of media and make a decent living doing it. I will make you this promise, if you will help me and make a little now, I will do everything in my power to push you as high as I can off of this stepping stone that we're building. Most game developers start off with funding before they start programming. I just started programming because I need something of meaning in my life and I was going to do whatever I could do to get there. I'm tired of working for other people and I'm ready to "kick down the doors" of the video game industry. So I'm going to make this happen and nothing is going to stop me. And anyone who comes on the journey with me is going to be as successful as I can possibly make them. So I'm glad you're along for this trip. And again, I promise you I will make it worth the journey, especially once we can start crowd funding and I have money to spend. Your art/talent is worth it, because if I didn't feel it was, I wouldn't have reached out to you in the first place. Every one of the people I've gathered around me have skills and talents that better this team. You all bring something special and unique to the table and I can't do this without you. This is not going to be an easy undertaking. If anybody wants to get off the roller coaster, feel free with no hard feelings from me. But I hope you see value in my vision and that you will continue to walk with me. I hope you all have a great rest of your week my friends. And thank you for helping my dream become a reality." If you're interested in what you've read, please feel free to message me here or at duke2go@gmail.com. Eventually I'll establish an official website for the project and finished game, as well as a specific email address, but right now I'm a freelance writer and it is easier for me to check my emails all at once rather than trying to keep up with 2 or 3 different addresses simultaneously. I apologize for no images in the thread, but if you're interested please message me and I can send you preview videos of where the game is currently and other concept art we've come up with so far. Thanks for taking the time to read all of this and I hope that we can work together to build something special. Mike
  8. of this song's musical vocal line not the lyrics(it's a different melody over bach's chaconne in D minor) the tempo is an eighth note at 42.5 bpm:
  9. Hey everyone! So I'm a puppeteer, artist, novice composer and animator. Christmas is just around the corner and I had an idea for a stop motion animation based around one of the most underrated Rare games of all time: Grabbed By The Ghoulies. With a soundtrack by Grant Kirkhope: Playlist: The idea came to me when I was thinking of simple animations. I remember a while back they had Ron Swanson doing the "Yule Log" so I though doing a claymation of the game's final boss Baron Von Ghoul in a similar thing but call it the "Ghoul Log" accompanied by a compilation of the games best tunes arranged in the style of classic Christmas music. Its utterly bizarre and I personally think it would be hilarious to hear these halloween style tunes in such a merry way! The idea is to take these minor key songs and turn them upside down into a major key, sligh bell cacophony. Christmas music can vary in different styles. from orchestral, to pop, rock etc. So I encourage creative freedom. Not just instrumental but we could do some lyrical work too! I was wondering If anyone would want to collab on this? I can do all the album artwork, and obviously a stop motion with it too! I compose a tad of music too (NOTHING GOOD) so I can help with some musical ideas. I do write lyrics too. Some Ideas I had are: an orchestral overture medley, in the style of those Rankin Bass main title sequences of the Grabbed By The Ghoulies main theme The Ballroom Disco in the Style of Jingle Bell Rock The final boss fight (Red Baron 1 and 2) arranged in a lyrical song in the style of Snoopy's Christmas by the Royal Guardsman. Here are the best tracks in my opinion: The Main Theme Pause/File Select Skeleton Battle Haunted Coat Zombie Pirates Ballroom Disco Criven's Quarters Red Baron 1+2 I think 8 tracks is plenty but I'm open to any changes. Ideally I'd like to get this done for Christmas. Its a strange concept but I think it would be awesome and hilarious! Anyone interested? Feel free to ask any questions!
  10. Hello, all! I am currently working on an original song that might turn into an EP and I am in need of a tenor and/or alto saxophonist and a violinist who are willing to collaborate! I can't really afford to pay as I am a poor bastard, however, you will definitely be credited for your work. I will also be forever in your debt and be willing to give you a hand on your projects as well (my specialty being electric guitars and composition). The parts for the saxophone and violin have already been written and produced with midi instruments. I now need them to be recorded with the real deal; however, if you feel like a section can be improved upon then feel free to give me your input! The genre is instrumental rock with string, synth and jazzy elements. If you like what your hear and want to participate feel free to reply to this post or PM me. I will then give you a version where your instrument is brought up in the mix to help the accelerate the process. Here is the draft of the current song I'm working on. Thanks and Enjoy! http://www.mediafire.com/file/g63akvicszv62l9/JRock+Song+v1.7.mp3 - Matt
  11. Hello, I am Reinhold from the Game-Art-HQ community. Back in 2015 we collaborated with OCR already and members from GA-HQ drew illustrations for the excellent Final Fantasy IX: Worlds Apart OCR Album. We are creating a couple of video game art tributes / collaborations per year and I thought it could result in something quite awesome if we can do another "Music & Visual Art" Project. I am writing this post because I myself am searching - Enthusiastic remixers that love the music of fighting games of the past and today - People that know what is important in a music piece and can basically do the judge part. I myself am a vgm addict since at least 1992 when I heard the timeless Guile theme for the first time in the SNES port of Street Fighter II but I believe that if we can do another collaboration, I leave the music part completely in the arms of the guys that are actually musicans. My idea for a Fighting Game Music & Art Project by OCR and Game-Art-HQ would be relative challenging and unorthodox for an OCR Album I guess. Fighting games are all about the fighting obviously. There are usually two characters beating the shit out of each other, and my idea would be to move this element into music tracks. In short, mashups. Ryu vs. Chun Li with elements of both characters themes in one track like they are basically fighting each other. Game-Art-HQ's Artists would come into play by creating illustrations of exactly those character matches. Including crossovers. Like if one of OCR's remixers has an excellent vision of creating a remix with Geese Howards theme with the one of M.Bison instead of another Fatal Fury or King of Fighters character, one of our artists would illustrate a fight between Geese and M.Bison. I think such a project should start relative small with a goal of 10 tracks. Ideal might be a mix of popular characters and games as well as to cover a few of the rarely remixed games. Each character should be a part of only one track, personally I would love to have 20 character themes of different games there. If you are familiar with fighting games, you know that a ton of them have excellent soundtracks, even if we go back to games like TMNT Tournament fighters or the earliest of the SNK fighting games like the first Fatal Fury or Art of Fighting. Here is a small selection of artworks that were created for Game-Art-HQ Art Collaborations in the past, we have a ton of very talanted artists in our community that love video games and just as much as everyone here: These are artworks made for our Legend of Zelda Bestiary Project, our Fighting Game Boss Tribute and the Nintendo 64 Anniversary we celebrated last year with games like DK 64. Would be awesome to get a new music and art collaboration together, I am open to support other OCR projects as well ^^ Greets and happy easter days everyone, Reinhold Hoffmann

  14. Hi there! I wanted to share some tracks with you: Enjoy!
  15. Hey guys, I've been working on a game for the last 2 years and we're in need of at least one more composer. Before I lose your interest, you can check out a video of the game in action at the link below: If I had to quickly sum things up, I'd say it's like... -a virtual world come to life, with a character driven story -entirely hand drawn 2D animation -gameplay that evokes platformers like Mega Man Zero and Kirby Superstar... -but also fighting games like SF: Third Strike, Marvel 3, and Guilty Gear. -with a heavy emphasis on a team of playable characters that are entirely unique from one another. If you'd like to learn a bit more about the story and characters, you can check out my patreon over here: https://www.patreon.com/hybridmink?ty=h ---------------------------------------------------- You might notice the music in the background of the video above. It was composed by Rozen, who's on board for composing some of the more epic and dramatic pieces in the game. We're also working with the Cynic Project who's posted a couple mixes on OCR before. He's handling the more electronic and trance pieces. However, at least half of Rudra's music needs to rock. Something along the lines of Mega Man and Sonic with some punk and metal mixed in. After speaking with both artists, we decided that we basically need a guitarist. While I definitely have some people in mind, I've found over the past couple years that it's better to reach out to a community that I love and actually find people that really want to work with you. So I of course turn to OCR, the site that's provided a substantial chunk of my music collection for the past 15 years. If you are interested at all, please let me know by replying in this thread or simply emailing me at: hybridmink (at) gmail (dot) com I'd love to talk to anyone interested, though I'd just ask that you provide a couple examples of your previous work. Full disclosure, we are planning on having a kickstarter in August. The goal is to have at least one more track (on top of what Rozen and Cynic Alex are working on) ready for the trailer. Thanks for reading this far and I hope to hear from you soon! If you have any questions about the game, characters, or scope, don't hesitate to ask. -Nick
  16. Hi there! My name is Clay Moffatt. I run a film company called Overnight Pictures. We are currently in pre-production on a feature film we hope to release this coming November. Which means we are looking to find just the right person to write the music. 1: Would you be interested in working on a 90 minute film? 2: Can you give me an estimate on pricing? I am in the process of splitting our budget up into what we need most to make this film the best we can. So I just need an idea, not a final number. I will share more about the film if you are interested, but it is a thriller/ghost story. I have attached some of my previous work in this post. Please take a look and let me know if you are interested! Over the past few years I have met some very talented musicians and I really like to work with people again and again. The relationship grows and it pushes everyone to do their absolute best! Please send an e-mail to me here: zimishone@gmail.com if you would like to talk more about the project. Like I said, at this time I am just seeking out all the available options. "Bedtime" "Don't Help Him" "Star Man/Star Man 2" Thank you, Clay
