  1. This is my remix of the neptune tank theme aka cold water from the original Resident Evil (1996) and Resident Evil Remake (2002). I always enjoyed the original very much as it is relaxing but also haunting. I remade in 4/4 instead of 5/4 and added some new instrumentation and melodies. (And there is even a Kantele involved ;).
  2. I'd love to see a remix of the Pathologic soundtracks. Specifically the classic version, but the new one would also be nice... Perhaps even a version the melds the two My own skills aren't quite up to par, though I have tried it out a few times privately. Honestly one of the main reasons I'd love to see them is to have more great horror music on the OCRemix site. And these games (or at least for me the original classic, since I've only listened to a few in the new game) have some really great pieces. There's unique quality to the soundtracks that seem perfect for inspiration. Here's a playlist for the original Classic: And one for the Remake:
  3. https://youtu.be/6U0ZfFu6pxE Even though I never played Silent Hill 2 when it first came out, its evocative soundtrack by Akira Yamaoka stood alongside albums by such artists as Portishead, Massive Attack, and Aphex Twin in my rotation of brooding, atmospheric music I loved as a teenager. Years later, the now infamous P.T., a "playable teaser" for the cancelled Hideo Kojima reboot Silent Hills quickly became one of my favorite video games of all time (and definitely the scariest piece of media — movie, game, book, or otherwise — I've ever experienced). After finally getting my hands on a copy of Silent Hill 2 to play, I figured it would be fun to take a crack at remixing the ambient track "White Noiz" with a heavy, trip hop-/lofi-inspired beat while also adding in elements of the score and sound effects from P.T. This remix was composed, edited, mixed, and mastered using Studio One 4 and Reason 11, utilizing heavy use of the plugin "Shaperbox 2" developed by Cableguys. Hope you enjoy!
  4. This is one of many themes I composed for a hypothetical mystery adventure game. (This song is also a loop, that's why the ending seems a little sudden.)
  5. Hi people. I composed new soundtrack. This is kind of horror and creepy atmosphere
  6. Here's a sequenced demo I made -- inspired by one of my favorite books. Before recording anything I'd really like to know what you guys think of it and what needs to be improved. Thanks in advance
  7. Hi There! This is my remix of the Theme of Laura (Reprise) from Silent Hill 2. I enjoyed making this one. The original was one of my favorite tracks from the game, and it means a lot to me, so I decided to make a remix! I wanted to put my own spin on it while keeping in touch with the dirty dark feel of the game. Recently submitted this for judging. Hope it goes through! 8. Synth, waterphone and string orchestra. Hope yo like it!
  9. Figured I ought to share my stuff here. Lots of different things, mostly stuff made from my eclectic collection of virtual instruments (Kontakt etc.), weird old analog synths and the like. I prefer to go for mood/storytelling than whether or not you can dance to it. Lots of horror/ambience in here. playlists: https://soundcloud.com/tymime/sets
  10. Hey guys, we would like to show you the third track of our upcoming demo, a little tribute to Akira Yamaoka and one of his greatest works: Please feel free to like, comment and share and check out our band page to be surprised for a special treatment for our next and final demo track: https://www.facebook.com/remembercitadelband/ Best regards RemCit
  11. Hi all! You might know me from some of my previous remix albums and tracks on compilations (Chronicles of Time, Spectrum of Mana, Vampire Variations, etc). For the past few years, I've put together a yearly Halloween horror music remix compilation featuring various musicians from the VGM scene. We did another one this year, and all proceeds go to Doctors Without Borders and ASPCA. It's free to download/stream, but if you want to toss a few bucks towards a good cause, we'd appreciate it! Thanks for listening, and HAPPY HALLOWEEN! Viking Guitar Productions Presents DANSE MACABRE 5
  12. Hello OC Remix community, I've been itching to do an OC remix for a very, very long time (I think I was introduced to it around 2000). In the meantime, I thought I'd jump into the fray and share an original piece I did earlier this year. I'm a huge fan of film scores from the 80's, and composed a horror/sci-fi/thriller piece with flavors of Tangerine Dream and John Carpenter. Looking forward to my first remix, but until then, I hope you enjoy this pulsing, suspenseful, dark synth track. Best, Meg
  13. So I decided that since I like OC ReMix so much, and since I've always been into music, that I'd start doing remixes. Here's my take on Super Metroid's Mysterious Statue Chamber and Tension tracks (mashed together), which both are basically the same song with a few noted differences. I thought it would be neat to mix the two seeing that they were so similar. These tracks are used for the music before boss fights, mainly Kraid and the morph ball bomb chozo statue. Source tracks: The mix itself might be somewhat loud, but everything should be properly mixed. There is a lot of low-end bass, but nothing that should break anyone's speakers. Once I was finished and made sure nothing clipped the master channel, I bounced it to .wav and converted to .mp3 with Nero Recode. Made in Ableton Live 9 with various Kontakt instruments. Dropbox link: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/65459588/Remixes/Harmonic%20Dread.mp3 The mp3 might say it is around 5 minutes, but it is only about 3. Not sure why. any advice would be great before I submit this, it feels 95% complete to me but there might be something I'm missing.
  14. Hello! I'd like to share with you this album by the Pixel Mixers community, organized by myself. We do monthly VGM Cover contest (a bit like DoD but with less advanced musicians) and of course we make free VGM Cover Album. I've started organizing those albums on gametabs.net in 2013, inspired by OCR Work's but with the website community and open to all even beginners... 3 years later i'm doing it with Pixel Mixers (the name of the community on the "VG Cover subreddit"). About this album, it contains covers/remixes of songs from horror games, but also more cartoon games that use the horror lore in some level/stages. The quality vary a bit from song to song, it's more a compilation as each song was mastered by the artist. But some songs definitely worth a listening and if you have some time i'd like to have some feedback to help us improving the quality of our next albums, like maybe having 1 person mastering all the unmastered tracks or some criticism about individual songs Thanks! 15. Hi there! My name is Clay Moffatt. I run a film company called Overnight Pictures. We are currently in pre-production on a feature film we hope to release this coming November. Which means we are looking to find just the right person to write the music. 1: Would you be interested in working on a 90 minute film? 2: Can you give me an estimate on pricing? I am in the process of splitting our budget up into what we need most to make this film the best we can. So I just need an idea, not a final number. I will share more about the film if you are interested, but it is a thriller/ghost story. I have attached some of my previous work in this post. Please take a look and let me know if you are interested! Over the past few years I have met some very talented musicians and I really like to work with people again and again. The relationship grows and it pushes everyone to do their absolute best! Please send an e-mail to me here: zimishone@gmail.com if you would like to talk more about the project. Like I said, at this time I am just seeking out all the available options. "Bedtime" "Don't Help Him" "Star Man/Star Man 2" Thank you, Clay
