  1. I'm on a chillhop / lofi beats creative binge at the moment, and was wracking my brain trying to think of a videogame track I might be able to remix into that style. Tears of... (or Good Ending) seemed like a simple yet effective source to play with, so here are. I mostly made this to include as a bonus track for an album, but though it might pass muster here? It might be a bit too conservative in it's source usage to be accepted, but I thought I'd pass it through the workshop to see how it did.
  2. My first post here, and I am sure I have a lot to learn. I am having fun doing it though! The original intent was to be vapor-wavy, kind of like that VHS sound, but curious if I went too far or I mixed too much up. 3. https://youtu.be/6U0ZfFu6pxE Even though I never played Silent Hill 2 when it first came out, its evocative soundtrack by Akira Yamaoka stood alongside albums by such artists as Portishead, Massive Attack, and Aphex Twin in my rotation of brooding, atmospheric music I loved as a teenager. Years later, the now infamous P.T., a "playable teaser" for the cancelled Hideo Kojima reboot Silent Hills quickly became one of my favorite video games of all time (and definitely the scariest piece of media — movie, game, book, or otherwise — I've ever experienced). After finally getting my hands on a copy of Silent Hill 2 to play, I figured it would be fun to take a crack at remixing the ambient track "White Noiz" with a heavy, trip hop-/lofi-inspired beat while also adding in elements of the score and sound effects from P.T. This remix was composed, edited, mixed, and mastered using Studio One 4 and Reason 11, utilizing heavy use of the plugin "Shaperbox 2" developed by Cableguys. Hope you enjoy!
  4. A wave of Zelda nostalgia has come over me recently and I felt compelled to remix the Title theme of Zelda: OoT. The first melody you hear in the game after turning it on is gorgeous and I had to pay tribute with this lofi/hip hop inspired cover/remix. I had a lot of fun making it and plan to do more Zelda remixes in the future. I hope you enjoy it!
  5. Here's an Animal Crossing track called ''Able Sisters'' that I decided to a lofi remix of. Just felt inspired and wanted to give it some new life, haha. It's technically supposed to be a little older sounding as it's ''Lofi,'' but it has a driving hip hop beat on top of it. I first created a cover of the exact arrangement from the original piece (upright bass, acoustic guitar, flute, drum machine, synths), then I treated that recording as a sample to transform it into the lofi genre. Anyway, here it is! lemme know what you think! a like or comment would be appreciated if you enjoy!
  6. Hello guys, I ask your advices today because I was wondering which music making program is the best for beginner who like stuff like Lofi Jazzy Hip Hop or Chillout/Ambient music. I watched a lot of various video tutorial and they all make Dubstep or Deep House music, and even if I know it's for start I'm still a bit sad about that. By the way, you guys know any Tutorial / Walkthrough by Lofi or Hip Hop or Chillout music maker ? And do you think it's better for me to choose Cubase or FL Studio ? Sorry for all this questions, but I don't have anyone to talk with about that and If I can take some advices from people have already experience in music making that could help me a lot.
  7. Recently completed my first mixtape where I remixed a number of my favorite tracks from Chrono Trigger. Probably best categorized as Vaportrap/Lofi Hip Hop [ChronoWave] ¦ [クロノ波 ]
  8. So I recently blitzed through Xenoblade Chronicles 2, which has an awesome soundtrack. Like seriously even if you don't have an interest in the game I highly recommend checking it out. After almost 100 hours in the game, I felt it was time to try my hand at a remix. This is a remix of the music that plays in one of the towns at night. "Don't Forget Me" has become something of a meme in Xenoblade/other gaming circles. Anyone who's played the game will know what I mean Original song: Remix: Anyways, probably not submission material, but if someone thinks otherwise I may consider submitting it. I hope you enjoy!
  9. Hey everyone! Thought I would share something I put together last night. I recently saw the latest Star Wars film, and although I have very mixed feelings about it, I did enjoy it. It inspired me to make a Star Wars remix, something I have never thought to do. This was just something fun, and I hope it puts a smile on your face. Any feedback is also appreciated. I think the mix came out ok but there are elements that I feel could have been better. Thanks for listening!
  10. Hey everyone! I'm new to posting around here, but I've been a long time lurker (for over 10 years now I think). Anyway, I only recently got back into producing music in FL Studio, which was a hobby of mine in high school, and I feel like my first few tracks have turned out pretty good! For today, here's my first lo-fi hip hop release. I plan on doing more in this style, which I've been listening to a lot lately. This is by no means my main style of music, I also like to produce dance and trance music, as well as an occasional hip hop beat. I would totally produce jazz if I could, but my setup is really minimal right now and better suited to electronic music. By day I'm a gospel keyboardist, singer, and songwriter, so really I just like all things music Anyway, here's the track, and I hope you enjoy! If anyone has feedback on the mix or arrangement I'd love to hear it. A little more info on how I made this: The track was made in the latest version of FL Studio, using a free electric piano sample as the base. The beat was drawn in by hand, and partway through production I purchased a Nektar Impact LX25+ midi controller (which is awesome by the way) and I used that to play the synth lead and do some of the automation. All mixing/mastering was done in FL Studio, and I'm aware that it's not perfect and I have a lot of room to improve, BUT I actually was really happy with the mix overall. Thanks for listening!
  11. Hello! This is a remix that I just posted on SoundCloud and submitted to OCR. It started out as a plain Jenova remix, but after messing around with it and adding some harmonic layering from Find Your Way (FF8) onto the chords and started messing with the chord coloring, it sounded cool enough to me so I added a section that is more centered around that source in the middle of the track. What do you think? Do the sources work well together? Cheers, Plato
