OCR TF2: New Server forthcoming - new server IPs and other stuff

I'm having problems with reserved slots...and I'm not quite sure why. Tomorrow morning I'm going to work on fixing it.

Having glanced at the sourcemod error log, there's an error on line 1059.

The problem was that two accounts had the auth type set to "Steam" but sourcemod only recognizes "steam" (in lowercase). I've since fixed the entries for SpectreShot and ouij007 so that they're lowercase.

I was just wondering if we could perhaps find some new custom maps people would enjoy, and put them on the server? The same old stuff is just starting to get bland.

I'm not sure why, but the rockthevote section of the maplists.cfg file was missing. I've re-added it.

That would explain why the vote screen has been so limited recently.

Gotta agree with Depo. There are already so many custom maps on the rotation.

I mean, I wouldn't be against putting 'em on the server for RTV, but the fact is that almost anytime a custom map comes up it hurts the server population and we end up RTVing off of it in a few moments.

Ah nice, good job finding the mistakes - I've had problems finding them, and was going to take this morning to but it looks like you were able to do my job.

Also, about customs - there are only two custom maps on the rotation, pacman and cashworks. That's too much?

I, for one, think the rotation doesn't have enough pacman.

Yesterday we had more of the same messed up map rotations. Within 6 maps or so, we had sawmill and cashworks come up twice each. I think cashworks got votenextmapped though. Thank CHRIST. :sad:

basically there is no reason for any map to be on the rotation more than once

There are 17 maps on the rotation, and consider a 30 minute minimum round time (more for some, less for others, and with overtime it probably averages out to even more than that) you won't see a map more than once (unless it gets RTV'd or changed) without playing for at least 8 1/2 hours. Which is probably why Dustbowl and Badwater are on there twice, and that's still 3+ hours between seeing those maps.

It'd be nice if we had 2-3 different rotations that got swapped out daily, but I don't know if that's too much work for the admins or what. Give every rotation a dose of valve maps, and a custom or two, and no more than 8-10 maps in any one rotation. That should do pretty good for keeping things mixed up since it would change daily.

Also, is there a way to make the pre-load friendly fire time melee-only?

Here lately it seems like dustbowl and badwater pop up way more than every 3+ hours though. But thats just from rtving. You could probably take badwater and dustbowl completely out of rotation and it would still get played just as much.

Well, if people want other rotations to be swapped up for different days, then suggest some! I'll only take them if the flow and map frequency is on at a good amount though.

And for that "custom map" thing, what exactly is defined as a custom map? I'm pretty damn sure that list is bigger than the official map set.

Explain? It had to have been made official for a reason.

Actually, I was wondering why he said that. I didn't think hoodoo was all that bad. And that's from a person whose team managed to get shut out before taking the first point before.
